ईळे॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी पू॒र्वचि॑त्तये॒ऽग्निं घ॒र्मं सु॒रुचं॒ याम॑न्नि॒ष्टये॑ । याभि॒र्भरे॑ का॒रमंशा॑य॒ जिन्व॑थ॒स्ताभि॑रू॒ षु ऊ॒तिभि॑रश्वि॒ना ग॑तम्
īḷe dyāvāpṛthivī pūrvacittaye'gniṃ gharmaṃ surucaṃ yāmanniṣṭaye yābhirbhare kāramaṃśāya jinvathastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
May the clay of heaven and earth and the fire of the east, the warm and lovely, be set for attainment. By which they filled the vats for the sacrifice; with them the swift-moving chariot of the Asvins went forth.

yuvordānāya subharā asaścato rathamā tasthurvacasaṃ na mantave yābhirdhiyo'vathaḥ karmanniṣṭaye tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
May they, young and beneficent, stand for bounty, the riches of chariots fixed; with them for the attainment of sacrificial deeds the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yuvaṃ tāsāṃ divyasya praśāsane viśāṃ kṣayatho amṛtasya majmanā yābhirdhenumasvaṃ1 pinvatho narā tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
Under your rule, o youthful ones, may the divine order not decline; may the life-immortal realm be sustained. By them the chariot came, men drinking the cow’s milk; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yābhiḥ parijmā tanayasya majmanā dvimātā tūrṣu taraṇirvibhūṣati yābhistrimanturabhavadvicakṣaṇastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By the twinned mothers’ embrace, with their son’s twofold band, the charioteer is adorned. By their threefold wealth the eye became vigilant; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yābhī rebhaṃ nivṛtaṃ sitamadbhya udvandanamairayataṃ svardṛśe yābhiḥ kaṇvaṃ pra siṣāsantamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By which they stopped the flowing slander, restraining the roaring complaints; in sight they sheathed the trembling ones. By them they settled Kanva's mighty gift; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yābhirantakaṃ jasamānamāraṇe bhujyuṃ yābhiravyathibhirjijinvathuḥ yābhiḥ karkandhuṃ vayyaṃ ca jinvathastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By which they conquered the devourer in the field of death, by which they, untroubled, fought and gained renown. By them they humbled the Karkandhu and Vayya; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yābhiḥ śucantiṃ dhanasāṃ suṣaṃsadaṃ taptaṃ gharmamomyāvantamatraye yābhiḥ pṛśniguṃ purukutsamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By which they cleansed the wealth, the good seat, heated the offering with warmth and brought the threefold fires. By them came the cow-slaying Puru-kutsa; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

By which they brought the cows with spotless flanks, the sacred milch, the breast and the eye endowed; by them they loosed the obstructing knot. With them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

By which they made the stream rich with honey, they strengthened Vasishtha, by which they warded off cunning ruin; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

By which they granted abundant wealth and thousandfold riches, they brought victory to the sacrificial chants; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

yābhiḥ sudānū auśijāya vaṇije dīrghaśravase madhu kośo akṣarat kakṣīvantaṃ stotāraṃ yābhirāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By which they gave rich gifts to traders and long-renowned treasures, the inexhaustible honey-store. They produced the praise-worthy singer in the assembly; with them the swift Asvin chariot went forth.

By those who drove the coursing mares through flood and foam, who urged on the chariot and conquered—by those who caused the three‑fold shaft to spring, who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who drove the Sun round about, who set the blind one (Mandhātṛ) beyond, who brought the priestly Brahman Bhṛdvaj within—by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who brought the great‑sighted, the kine‑protecting, heaven‑revealed god who slays Šambara; by those who brought forward the ancient dawn—by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who poured forth the tawny (Vāmra) draught, praising the cup, by those who cast away the folly and renounced ignorance—by those who brought horses over the earth with victorious might, they went afar.

By those who made men lie down, by those who made the threefold [rites], by those who first sang the song in the town of Manu; by those who were born of bodily form and shone like rays, by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who, like priests, cleansed the belly with ritual, who made Agni the ligament and the river the mark—by those who raised mighty wealth on arrows—by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those whose Angiras went with mind onward, who went foremost into the void, to the pasture of kine—by those who brought Manu the valiant one together, by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those whose wives poured libations and brought forth gifts and who instructed the ruddy (Rūṇī) with training; by those who invoked fair Dāsā and the heavenly goddess—by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

yābhiḥ śaṃtātī bhavatho dadāśuṣe bhujyuṃ yābhiravatho yābhiradhrigum omyāvatīṃ subharāmṛtastubhaṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By those who were calm and gave bounty, who made the arms abundant, who upheld the strong—Om! may be our abundant, auspicious immortality; by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who made slender offerings and endured hardship, who brought about the youth’s assembly—by those who bore the sweet delight which they loved from the mountains—by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

By those who made men like kine for battle, who subdued the tyrant in the field, who conquered the myriad offspring—by those who made the chariots ready and turned back the floods, by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

yābhiḥ kutsamārjuneyaṃ śatakratū pra turvītiṃ pra ca dabhītimāvatam yābhirdhvasantiṃ puruṣantimāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam
By those who reproached Ajuna the slanderer, the hundred‑performer, by whom warrior might was roused and stout defenders came—by those who raised tumult in the hosts and strengthened the people, by those who yoked steeds with upward glance, they went afar.

अप्न॑स्वतीमश्विना॒ वाच॑म॒स्मे कृ॒तं नो॑ दस्रा वृषणा मनी॒षाम् । अ॒द्यू॒त्येऽव॑से॒ नि ह्व॑ये वां वृ॒धे च॑ नो भवतं॒ वाज॑सातौ
apnasvatīmaśvinā vācamasme kṛtaṃ no dasrā vṛṣaṇā manīṣām adyūtye'vase ni hvaye vāṃ vṛdhe ca no bhavataṃ vājasātau
O Ashvins, obtain for us the spoken word, do what is ours, grant us the vigor of bulls, the counsel of the wise. Let the two be present at our hymn today; be our strength, grant us the prize of might.

द्युभि॑र॒क्तुभिः॒ परि॑ पातम॒स्मानरि॑ष्टेभिरश्विना॒ सौभ॑गेभिः । तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑तिः॒ सिन्धुः॑ पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः
dyubhiraktubhiḥ pari pātamasmānariṣṭebhiraśvinā saubhagebhiḥ tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ
By your two‑fold rites, protect us from enemies, from harms, O Ashvins, with lucky bounty. May Mitra and Varuṇa grant us, may Aditi, the flood, earth and heaven give us strength.
