May the clay of heaven and earth and the fire of the east, the warm and lovely, be set for attainment. By which they filled the vats for the sacrifice; with them the swift-moving chariot of the Asvins went forth.
I praise Heaven and Earth for preliminary meditation, (prior to the coming of the Aśvins); I praise the hot and bright-shining Agni upon their approach, (as preparatory) to their worship; with those appliances with which you sound the conch-shell in battle for your share (in the booty), with those aids, Aśvins, come willingly hither.
To give first thought to them, I worship Heaven and Earth, and Agni, fair bright glow, to hasten their approach. Come hither unto us, O Asvins, with those aids wherewith in fight ye speed the war-cry to the spoil.
