One home for the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, open to all.
Learn Hindu Scriptures is a free, non-profit initiative to gather the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, and the wider Hindu canon into a single, searchable database — Sanskrit originals alongside translations in eleven Indian languages.
Our Mission
Preserve the wisdom. Share it freely.
For thousands of years, the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma were carried forward by oral tradition, hand-copied manuscripts, and the devotion of generations of scholars. Today, that knowledge is scattered across dozens of sites, in fragments, behind paywalls, or only in one language.
This platform exists to bring it back together — one place where any seeker, regardless of background, can read the Sanskrit original, follow a translation in their mother tongue, and walk a structured learning path from their very first shloka to the most subtle teachings of the Upanishads.
One database, every scripture
Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, the 18 Puranas, Darshana, Upavedas — under one structured catalog, free to read and search.
Translations in 11 languages
Each shloka with its Sanskrit original, transliteration, and meaning in Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, English, and Sanskrit.
For seekers of every level
Designed for a curious child, a busy professional, a college student, or a lifelong sadhaka — structured paths take you from your first shloka to deep study.
Free, forever
No paywalls, no ads, no signups required to read. Knowledge that has been passed down freely for thousands of years stays that way here.
Founder
Jigar Acharya
Learn Hindu Scriptures began as a personal study project — a long-running effort to read the texts that have shaped Sanatan Dharma, in their original Sanskrit, with the help of trustworthy translations.
What started as private notes became a question: why isn’t there one open, searchable home for all of this? This platform is the answer — built and maintained as an act of seva, free for anyone who wants to learn.

What we stand for
Principles that shape the platform
The decisions behind every page — from how a translation is shown to why nothing here is paywalled.
Faithful to the source
Sanskrit text is presented as-is, with citations back to the scripture, chapter, and shloka. Translations note their tradition and translator wherever possible.
Open, not dogmatic
We surface multiple translations and commentaries side by side. The aim is understanding, not prescribing a single interpretation.
Built for clarity
No clutter, no distractions. A premium reading experience that respects both the depth of the texts and the time of the reader.
Community-supported
Suggestions, corrections, and contributions from scholars, students, and parents shape what we add next. This is a living project.
