यो मर्त्ये॑ष्व॒मृत॑ ऋ॒तावा॑ दे॒वो दे॒वेष्व॑र॒तिर्नि॒धायि॑ । होता॒ यजि॑ष्ठो म॒ह्ना शु॒चध्यै॑ ह॒व्यैर॒ग्निर्मनु॑ष ईर॒यध्यै॑
yo martyeṣvamṛta ṛtāvā devo deveṣvaratirnidhāyi hotā yajiṣṭho mahnā śucadhyai havyairagnirmanuṣa īrayadhyai
He who among mortals is deathless, the god established the laws among the gods, not hiding them. The chief priest, greatest of sacrifices, in the day pure, Agni is offered by men with oblations.

इ॒ह त्वं सू॑नो सहसो नो अ॒द्य जा॒तो जा॒ताँ उ॒भया॑ँ अ॒न्तर॑ग्ने । दू॒त ई॑यसे युयुजा॒न ऋ॑ष्व ऋजुमु॒ष्कान्वृष॑णः शु॒क्राँश्च॑
iha tvaṃ sūno sahaso no adya jāto jātām̐ ubhayām̐ antaragne dūta īyase yuyujāna ṛṣva ṛjumuṣkānvṛṣaṇaḥ śukrām̐śca
Here you, son, are born with might for us today, embracing both realms, O inner Agni. You are sent as messenger; you unite the straightened folk, the bull-like, with radiant parts.

अत्या॑ वृध॒स्नू रोहि॑ता घृ॒तस्नू॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ मन्ये॒ मन॑सा॒ जवि॑ष्ठा । अ॒न्तरी॑यसे अरु॒षा यु॑जा॒नो यु॒ष्माँश्च॑ दे॒वान्विश॒ आ च॒ मर्ता॑न्
atyā vṛdhasnū rohitā ghṛtasnū ṛtasya manye manasā javiṣṭhā antarīyase aruṣā yujāno yuṣmām̐śca devānviśa ā ca martān
Surpassing in growth, rich in fat, robed in clarified butter—of the law I reckon you foremost in mind. You, interjacent, crimson, pairing — the deities approach you and mortals.

aryamaṇaṃ varuṇaṃ mitrameṣāmindrāviṣṇū maruto aśvinota svaśvo agne surathaḥ surādhā edu vaha suhaviṣe janāya
O Aryaman, Varuna, Mitra, Indra, Vishnu, Maruts, Ashvins—O Agni, swift in your own steeds—go, O best of friends, bring the sweet gift for the folk.

गोमा॑ँ अ॒ग्नेऽवि॑माँ अ॒श्वी य॒ज्ञो नृ॒वत्स॑खा॒ सद॒मिद॑प्रमृ॒ष्यः । इळा॑वाँ ए॒षो अ॑सुर प्र॒जावा॑न्दी॒र्घो र॒यिः पृ॑थुबु॒ध्नः स॒भावा॑न्
gomām̐ agne'vimām̐ aśvī yajño nṛvatsakhā sadamidapramṛṣyaḥ iḷāvām̐ eṣo asura prajāvāndīrgho rayiḥ pṛthubudhnaḥ sabhāvān
O Agni, measure out the cows, the steeds, the sacrifice; the lord of men, friend of kine, this godly one delights the peoples. Ila this Asura, honored by progeny, wealth and broad renown he bears.

यस्त॑ इ॒ध्मं ज॒भर॑त्सिष्विदा॒नो मू॒र्धानं॑ वा त॒तप॑ते त्वा॒या । भुव॒स्तस्य॒ स्वत॑वाँः पा॒युर॑ग्ने॒ विश्व॑स्मात्सीमघाय॒त उ॑रुष्य
yasta idhmaṃ jabharatsiṣvidāno mūrdhānaṃ vā tatapate tvāyā bhuvastasya svatavām̐ḥ pāyuragne viśvasmātsīmaghāyata uruṣya
He who spread the sacrificial fuel, whether to the dwellers or to the lord, to that father. May he be for him a sender of offerings; Agni, from all trust, pour the libations, O excellent one, make him renowned.

यस्ते॒ भरा॒दन्नि॑यते चि॒दन्नं॑ नि॒शिष॑न्म॒न्द्रमति॑थिमु॒दीर॑त् । आ दे॑व॒युरि॒नध॑ते दुरो॒णे तस्मि॑न्र॒यिर्ध्रु॒वो अ॑स्तु॒ दास्वा॑न्
yaste bharādanniyate cidannaṃ niśiṣanmandramatithimudīrat ā devayurinadhate duroṇe tasminrayirdhruvo astu dāsvān
Whoever gives you abundant food, who pours forth food, who spreads a feast and delights the assembly — may that steadfast friend of ours be for us a slave in the hall of the gods.

yastvā doṣā ya uṣasi praśaṃsātpriyaṃ vā tvā kṛṇavate haviṣmān aśvo na sve dama ā hemyāvāntamaṃhasaḥ pīparo dāśvāṃsam
Whoever praises you, O Dawn, or makes offerings to you, dear one, or performs your oblation — like a swift steed among horses he gave us as servants.

यस्तुभ्य॑मग्ने अ॒मृता॑य॒ दाश॒द्दुव॒स्त्वे कृ॒णव॑ते य॒तस्रु॑क् । न स रा॒या श॑शमा॒नो वि यो॑ष॒न्नैन॒मंहः॒ परि॑ वरदघा॒योः
yastubhyamagne amṛtāya dāśadduvastve kṛṇavate yatasruk na sa rāyā śaśamāno vi yoṣannainamaṃhaḥ pari varadaghāyoḥ
To you, Agni, immortal gifts for the twofold steed they made; what they offered in torrents you fashioned. Not the ruler stayed who, conqueror, cast you not around the twofold mares.

यस्य॒ त्वम॑ग्ने अध्व॒रं जुजो॑षो दे॒वो मर्त॑स्य॒ सुधि॑तं॒ ररा॑णः । प्री॒तेद॑स॒द्धोत्रा॒ सा य॑वि॒ष्ठासा॑म॒ यस्य॑ विध॒तो वृ॒धासः॑
yasya tvamagne adhvaraṃ jujoṣo devo martasya sudhitaṃ rarāṇaḥ prītedasaddhotrā sā yaviṣṭhāsāma yasya vidhato vṛdhāsaḥ
Whose path, O Agni, you honored as the god accepting offerings, that chariot well-steered for mortals was made firm. May the one whose laws prospered be for us abundant, he whom the order and the great founder increased.

चित्ति॒मचि॑त्तिं चिनव॒द्वि वि॒द्वान्पृ॒ष्ठेव॑ वी॒ता वृ॑जि॒ना च॒ मर्ता॑न् । रा॒ये च॑ नः स्वप॒त्याय॑ देव॒ दितिं॑ च॒ रास्वादि॑तिमुरुष्य
cittimacittiṃ cinavadvi vidvānpṛṣṭheva vītā vṛjinā ca martān rāye ca naḥ svapatyāya deva ditiṃ ca rāsvāditimuruṣya
Wise in discerning and dividing thought from non-thought, he who knows, standing behind, drove away enemies and fashioned the men. O Lord, grant us offspring and give us the bright day, the ruler of wealth.

क॒विं श॑शासुः क॒वयोऽद॑ब्धा निधा॒रय॑न्तो॒ दुर्या॑स्वा॒योः । अत॒स्त्वं दृश्या॑ँ अग्न ए॒तान्प॒ड्भिः प॑श्ये॒रद्भु॑ताँ अ॒र्य एवैः॑
kaviṃ śaśāsuḥ kavayo'dabdhā nidhārayanto duryāsvāyoḥ atastvaṃ dṛśyām̐ agna etānpaḍbhiḥ paśyeradbhutām̐ arya evaiḥ
They made the poet kings, poets undeceived, laying up treasures in the paths of the hard to pass. Therefore, O Agni, in the visible rites with these hymns I behold marvellous things, O noble ones.

त्वम॑ग्ने वा॒घते॑ सु॒प्रणी॑तिः सु॒तसो॑माय विध॒ते य॑विष्ठ । रत्नं॑ भर शशमा॒नाय॑ घृष्वे पृ॒थु श्च॒न्द्रमव॑से चर्षणि॒प्राः
tvamagne vāghate supraṇītiḥ sutasomāya vidhate yaviṣṭha ratnaṃ bhara śaśamānāya ghṛṣve pṛthu ścandramavase carṣaṇiprāḥ
You, Agni, have spoken the well-ordered invocation, best of rites, established for the Soma-offering by the law-giver. Fill the gem for the steadfast one, anoint with clarified butter; the broad moon sits upon the chariot's rims.

अधा॑ ह॒ यद्व॒यम॑ग्ने त्वा॒या प॒ड्भिर्हस्ते॑भिश्चकृ॒मा त॒नूभिः॑ । रथं॒ न क्रन्तो॒ अप॑सा भु॒रिजो॑रृ॒तं ये॑मुः सु॒ध्य॑ आशुषा॒णाः
adhā ha yadvayamagne tvāyā paḍbhirhastebhiścakṛmā tanūbhiḥ rathaṃ na kranto apasā bhurijorṛtaṃ yemuḥ sudhya āśuṣāṇāḥ
Beneath what we, Agni, by these hymns have fashioned with hands and bodies and led forth — the chariot unpierced by reins, the swift-footed steeds, they harnessed who sought the course and aided the wearied.

अधा॑ मा॒तुरु॒षसः॑ स॒प्त विप्रा॒ जाये॑महि प्रथ॒मा वे॒धसो॒ नॄन् । दि॒वस्पु॒त्रा अङ्गि॑रसो भवे॒माद्रिं॑ रुजेम ध॒निनं॑ शु॒चन्तः॑
adhā māturuṣasaḥ sapta viprā jāyemahi prathamā vedhaso nṝn divasputrā aṅgiraso bhavemādriṃ rujema dhaninaṃ śucantaḥ
Beneath the mothers and men may seven wise seers be born first among men. Let us be Angirasas, sons of heaven, may we attain mountain strength, flourishing rich and pure.

अधा॒ यथा॑ नः पि॒तरः॒ परा॑सः प्र॒त्नासो॑ अग्न ऋ॒तमा॑शुषा॒णाः । शुचीद॑य॒न्दीधि॑तिमुक्थ॒शासः॒ क्षामा॑ भि॒न्दन्तो॑ अरु॒णीरप॑ व्रन्
adhā yathā naḥ pitaraḥ parāsaḥ pratnāso agna ṛtamāśuṣāṇāḥ śucīdayandīdhitimukthaśāsaḥ kṣāmā bhindanto aruṇīrapa vran
As our fathers of old, the ancient perfect ones, pressed forward in upright rites with cleansing offerings: pure in heart they upheld the shining law, the wide-reigning, bearing forgiveness and the ruddy light.

सु॒कर्मा॑णः सु॒रुचो॑ देव॒यन्तोऽयो॒ न दे॒वा जनि॑मा॒ धम॑न्तः । शु॒चन्तो॑ अ॒ग्निं व॑वृ॒धन्त॒ इन्द्र॑मू॒र्वं गव्यं॑ परि॒षद॑न्तो अग्मन्
sukarmāṇaḥ suruco devayanto'yo na devā janimā dhamantaḥ śucanto agniṃ vavṛdhanta indramūrvaṃ gavyaṃ pariṣadanto agman
Doing good deeds, lovely in their rites, the gods born these ones who perform sacrifice. Purifying, they set Agni up; Indra the chief, like a bull, with the cattle they moved around the council.

आ यू॒थेव॑ क्षु॒मति॑ प॒श्वो अ॑ख्यद्दे॒वानां॒ यज्जनि॒मान्त्यु॑ग्र । मर्ता॑नां चिदु॒र्वशी॑रकृप्रन्वृ॒धे चि॑द॒र्य उप॑रस्या॒योः
ā yūtheva kṣumati paśvo akhyaddevānāṃ yajjanimāntyugra martānāṃ cidurvaśīrakṛpranvṛdhe cidarya uparasyāyoḥ
A herd, O you famed gods, grows young in the strength you create; those who beget the mortal ones are strong and they rear the vigorous in their days.

अक॑र्म ते॒ स्वप॑सो अभूम ऋ॒तम॑वस्रन्नु॒षसो॑ विभा॒तीः । अनू॑नम॒ग्निं पु॑रु॒धा सु॑श्च॒न्द्रं दे॒वस्य॒ मर्मृ॑जत॒श्चारु॒ चक्षुः॑
akarma te svapaso abhūma ṛtamavasrannuṣaso vibhātīḥ anūnamagniṃ purudhā suścandraṃ devasya marmṛjataścāru cakṣuḥ
Unwrought by you are the slothful; truth pours forth and the lamps of mind shine. Before Agni stand the steadfast and the shining moon; the god’s lovely eye has grown radiant.

ए॒ता ते॑ अग्न उ॒चथा॑नि वे॒धोऽवो॑चाम क॒वये॒ ता जु॑षस्व । उच्छो॑चस्व कृणु॒हि वस्य॑सो नो म॒हो रा॒यः पु॑रुवार॒ प्र य॑न्धि
etā te agna ucathāni vedho'vocāma kavaye tā juṣasva ucchocasva kṛṇuhi vasyaso no maho rāyaḥ puruvāra pra yandhi
These, O Agni, the seers have spoken; O poets, accept them. Proclaim them, perform the rites for our prosperity; may the mighty chieftains of the hall turn them to our wealth.
