ā yūtheva kṣumati paśvo akhyaddevānāṃ yajjanimāntyugra martānāṃ cidurvaśīrakṛpranvṛdhe cidarya uparasyāyoḥ
A herd, O you famed gods, grows young in the strength you create; those who beget the mortal ones are strong and they rear the vigorous in their days.
Fierce (Agni), when (Indra) proclaimed the near presence of the herd of the kine of the divine (Aṅgirasas) as a herd of cattle in a well-stored stall, the progeny of mortals were thereby enabled (to perform pious acts), and the master of the family rendered competent to (provide for) the increase of posterity and (the support of) dependants.
Strong One! he marked them-and the Gods before them-like herds of cattle in a foodful pasture. There they moaned forth their strong desire for mortals, to aid the True, the nearest One, the Living.
