अ॒स्मा इदु॒ प्र त॒वसे॑ तु॒राय॒ प्रयो॒ न ह॑र्मि॒ स्तोमं॒ माहि॑नाय । ऋची॑षमा॒याध्रि॑गव॒ ओह॒मिन्द्रा॑य॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि रा॒तत॑मा
asmā idu pra tavase turāya prayo na harmi stomaṃ māhināya ṛcīṣamāyādhrigava ohamindrāya brahmāṇi rātatamā
We offer this hymn to you, O godly strength; I do not restrain the praise for the generous one. For Indra, for Brahman—may the seers’ hymns go forth to you this night.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ प्रय॑ इव॒ प्र यं॑सि॒ भरा॑म्याङ्गू॒षं बाधे॑ सुवृ॒क्ति । इन्द्रा॑य हृ॒दा मन॑सा मनी॒षा प्र॒त्नाय॒ पत्ये॒ धियो॑ मर्जयन्त
asmā idu praya iva pra yaṃsi bharāmyāṅgūṣaṃ bādhe suvṛkti indrāya hṛdā manasā manīṣā pratnāya patye dhiyo marjayanta
We offer this, as one offers an armful: bearing the load, with fitting speech. For Indra, with heart, mind and thought, may they cleanse the intellects for the lord.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ त्यमु॑प॒मं स्व॒र्षां भरा॑म्याङ्गू॒षमा॒स्ये॑न । मंहि॑ष्ठ॒मच्छो॑क्तिभिर्मती॒नां सु॑वृ॒क्तिभिः॑ सू॒रिं वा॑वृ॒धध्यै॑
asmā idu tyamupamaṃ svarṣāṃ bharāmyāṅgūṣamāsyena maṃhiṣṭhamacchoktibhirmatīnāṃ suvṛktibhiḥ sūriṃ vāvṛdhadhyai
We offer this like a portion among the chiefs, bearing the armful with these prayers. With chosen words and auspicious utterances may they strengthen the hero and increase his might.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ स्तोमं॒ सं हि॑नोमि॒ रथं॒ न तष्टे॑व॒ तत्सि॑नाय । गिर॑श्च॒ गिर्वा॑हसे सुवृ॒क्तीन्द्रा॑य विश्वमि॒न्वं मेधि॑राय
asmā idu stomaṃ saṃ hinomi rathaṃ na taṣṭeva tatsināya giraśca girvāhase suvṛktīndrāya viśvaminvaṃ medhirāya
We offer this hymn; I pour the oblation, I do not restrain the chariot for the foe. With speech and song may the loud-voiced one conquer for Indra, the wise in counsel.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ सप्ति॑मिव श्रव॒स्येन्द्रा॑या॒र्कं जु॒ह्वा॒३॒॑ सम॑ञ्जे । वी॒रं दा॒नौक॑सं व॒न्दध्यै॑ पु॒रां गू॒र्तश्र॑वसं द॒र्माण॑म्
asmā idu saptimiva śravasyendrāyārkaṃ juhvā3 samañje vīraṃ dānaukasaṃ vandadhyai purāṃ gūrtaśravasaṃ darmāṇam
We offer this as the seventh song to Indra, kindling the sun; praise the hero, the giver of wealth, who protects the city, the famed renown of strength and righteousness.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ त्वष्टा॑ तक्ष॒द्वज्रं॒ स्वप॑स्तमं स्व॒र्यं१॒॑ रणा॑य । वृ॒त्रस्य॑ चिद्वि॒दद्येन॒ मर्म॑ तु॒जन्नीशा॑नस्तुज॒ता कि॑ये॒धाः
asmā idu tvaṣṭā takṣadvajraṃ svapastamaṃ svaryaṃ1 raṇāya vṛtrasya cidvidadyena marma tujannīśānastujatā kiyedhāḥ
We offer this: Tvashta fashioned the thunderbolt, the splendid weapon for battle. He pierced the secret of Vrtra; the famed ones struck at his vital spot—thus did they act.

अ॒स्येदु॑ मा॒तुः सव॑नेषु स॒द्यो म॒हः पि॒तुं प॑पि॒वाञ्चार्वन्ना॑ । मु॒षा॒यद्विष्णुः॑ पच॒तं सही॑या॒न्विध्य॑द्वरा॒हं ति॒रो अद्रि॒मस्ता॑
asyedu mātuḥ savaneṣu sadyo mahaḥ pituṃ papivāñcārvannā muṣāyadviṣṇuḥ pacataṃ sahīyānvidhyadvarāhaṃ tiro adrimastā
May his mother here, in the rites, quickly bring forth great bounty for the father and grant food. May Vishnu prepare the banquet with fitting aid, and may the boar protect the hills.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ ग्नाश्चि॑द्दे॒वप॑त्नी॒रिन्द्रा॑या॒र्कम॑हि॒हत्य॑ ऊवुः । परि॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी ज॑भ्र उ॒र्वी नास्य॒ ते म॑हि॒मानं॒ परि॑ ष्टः
asmā idu gnāściddevapatnīrindrāyārkamahihatya ūvuḥ pari dyāvāpṛthivī jabhra urvī nāsya te mahimānaṃ pari ṣṭaḥ
We worship you, O fires and divine consorts: Indra was praised like the sun; toward heaven and earth, the lofty surge rose—your greatness went forth all around.

अ॒स्येदे॒व प्र रि॑रिचे महि॒त्वं दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्याः पर्य॒न्तरि॑क्षात् । स्व॒राळिन्द्रो॒ दम॒ आ वि॒श्वगू॑र्तः स्व॒रिरम॑त्रो ववक्षे॒ रणा॑य
asyedeva pra ririce mahitvaṃ divaspṛthivyāḥ paryantarikṣāt svarāḷindro dama ā viśvagūrtaḥ svariramatro vavakṣe raṇāya
May this godly gift increase greatness from the wide heavens to earth and through the midspace. Indra, the puissant, endowed with power, bearer of fame—may he speak forth heroic deeds for battle.

अ॒स्येदे॒व शव॑सा शु॒षन्तं॒ वि वृ॑श्च॒द्वज्रे॑ण वृ॒त्रमिन्द्रः॑ । गा न व्रा॒णा अ॒वनी॑रमुञ्चद॒भि श्रवो॑ दा॒वने॒ सचे॑ताः
asyedeva śavasā śuṣantaṃ vi vṛścadvajreṇa vṛtramindraḥ gā na vrāṇā avanīramuñcadabhi śravo dāvane sacetāḥ
This very cow, with her breath weakened, Indra struck with his thunderbolt and broke Vritra. Cows do not release the moisture of the earth; may the heard ones, mindful, grant the flow to the draught.

अ॒स्येदु॑ त्वे॒षसा॑ रन्त॒ सिन्ध॑वः॒ परि॒ यद्वज्रे॑ण सी॒मय॑च्छत् । ई॒शा॒न॒कृद्दा॒शुषे॑ दश॒स्यन्तु॒र्वीत॑ये गा॒धं तु॒र्वणिः॑ कः
asyedu tveṣasā ranta sindhavaḥ pari yadvajreṇa sīmayacchat īśānakṛddāśuṣe daśasyanturvītaye gādhaṃ turvaṇiḥ kaḥ
For him the streams flowed around like floods when the thunderbolt enclosed them. The bringer of devastation made the hostile ones dry; who is the swift, roaring torrent for the brave?

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ प्र भ॑रा॒ तूतु॑जानो वृ॒त्राय॒ वज्र॒मीशा॑नः किये॒धाः । गोर्न पर्व॒ वि र॑दा तिर॒श्चेष्य॒न्नर्णां॑स्य॒पां च॒रध्यै॑
asmā idu pra bharā tūtujāno vṛtrāya vajramīśānaḥ kiyedhāḥ gorna parva vi radā tiraśceṣyannarṇāṃsyapāṃ caradhyai
May this mighty burden fall upon Vritra, the thunderous ruler; O cows, may you wateredly go to the mountains and to the fertile realms of waters and to the streams.

अ॒स्येदु॒ प्र ब्रू॑हि पू॒र्व्याणि॑ तु॒रस्य॒ कर्मा॑णि॒ नव्य॑ उ॒क्थैः । यु॒धे यदि॑ष्णा॒न आयु॑धान्यृघा॒यमा॑णो निरि॒णाति॒ शत्रू॑न्
asyedu pra brūhi pūrvyāṇi turasya karmāṇi navya ukthaiḥ yudhe yadiṣṇāna āyudhānyṛghāyamāṇo niriṇāti śatrūn
Proclaim for him the ancient rites and fresh deeds with new hymns. If in battle the fiery inmost ones, armed for life, cut down the foe, so be it.

अ॒स्येदु॑ भि॒या गि॒रय॑श्च दृ॒ळ्हा द्यावा॑ च॒ भूमा॑ ज॒नुष॑स्तुजेते । उपो॑ वे॒नस्य॒ जोगु॑वान ओ॒णिं स॒द्यो भु॑वद्वी॒र्या॑य नो॒धाः
asyedu bhiyā girayaśca dṛḷhā dyāvā ca bhūmā januṣastujete upo venasya joguvāna oṇiṃ sadyo bhuvadvīryāya nodhāḥ
May the mountains tremble with awe, and firm heaven and earth and the knees be subdued. At the approach of the chariot let the rider take the angerless weapon; swiftly grant us heroic strength.

अ॒स्मा इदु॒ त्यदनु॑ दाय्येषा॒मेको॒ यद्व॒व्ने भूरे॒रीशा॑नः । प्रैत॑शं॒ सूर्ये॑ पस्पृधा॒नं सौव॑श्व्ये॒ सुष्वि॑माव॒दिन्द्रः॑
asmā idu tyadanu dāyyeṣāmeko yadvavne bhūrerīśānaḥ praitaśaṃ sūrye paspṛdhānaṃ sauvaśvye suṣvimāvadindraḥ
May this therefore be given to us according to what the mighty rulers desire. As at dawn the Sun scattered the foremost beams, so Indra made the ample radiance of the steeds victorious.

ए॒वा ते॑ हारियोजना सुवृ॒क्तीन्द्र॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि॒ गोत॑मासो अक्रन् । ऐषु॑ वि॒श्वपे॑शसं॒ धियं॑ धाः प्रा॒तर्म॒क्षू धि॒याव॑सुर्जगम्यात्
evā te hāriyojanā suvṛktīndra brahmāṇi gotamāso akran aiṣu viśvapeśasaṃ dhiyaṃ dhāḥ prātarmakṣū dhiyāvasurjagamyāt
Thus you, Haryojna, with true words, Indra, like Brahman and Gotama, performed the rites. In these the all-worldly spirit of counsel dawned; at morning the wise thoughts went forth.
