व॒यमु॒ त्वाम॑पूर्व्य स्थू॒रं न कच्चि॒द्भर॑न्तोऽव॒स्यवः॑ । वाजे॑ चि॒त्रं ह॑वामहे
vayamu tvāmapūrvya sthūraṃ na kaccidbharanto'vasyavaḥ vāje citraṃ havāmahe
We before you are not burden-bearers like oxen; we offer the splendid oblation in sacrifice.

उप॑ त्वा॒ कर्म॑न्नू॒तये॒ स नो॒ युवो॒ग्रश्च॑क्राम॒ यो धृ॒षत् । त्वामिद्ध्य॑वि॒तारं॑ ववृ॒महे॒ सखा॑य इन्द्र सान॒सिम्
upa tvā karmannūtaye sa no yuvograścakrāma yo dhṛṣat tvāmiddhyavitāraṃ vavṛmahe sakhāya indra sānasim
Bring us near for the performance of rites; you, the youthful strong one, went forth who was bold. We invoked you as revealer and make you our companion — Indra, with pleasant might.

आ या॑ही॒म इन्द॒वोऽश्व॑पते॒ गोप॑त॒ उर्व॑रापते । सोमं॑ सोमपते पिब
ā yāhīma indavo'śvapate gopata urvarāpate somaṃ somapate piba
Whoever of you, slayer of foes and lord of horses, protector of cattle and of the wide waters, drink Soma, O lord of Soma.

व॒यं हि त्वा॒ बन्धु॑मन्तमब॒न्धवो॒ विप्रा॑स इन्द्र येमि॒म । या ते॒ धामा॑नि वृषभ॒ तेभि॒रा ग॑हि॒ विश्वे॑भिः॒ सोम॑पीतये
vayaṃ hi tvā bandhumantamabandhavo viprāsa indra yemima yā te dhāmāni vṛṣabha tebhirā gahi viśvebhiḥ somapītaye
We indeed are your closest kin, your bound associates, O Indra; these are your abodes, grasp them with your mighty bulls — take them all for Soma-drinking.

सीद॑न्तस्ते॒ वयो॑ यथा॒ गोश्री॑ते॒ मधौ॑ मदि॒रे वि॒वक्ष॑णे । अ॒भि त्वामि॑न्द्र नोनुमः
sīdantaste vayo yathā gośrīte madhau madire vivakṣaṇe abhi tvāmindra nonumaḥ
They sit as you placed them, like cows tethered when longing for drink in mead and in wine; we do not oppose you, O Indra.

अच्छा॑ च त्वै॒ना नम॑सा॒ वदा॑मसि॒ किं मुहु॑श्चि॒द्वि दी॑धयः । सन्ति॒ कामा॑सो हरिवो द॒दिष्ट्वं स्मो व॒यं सन्ति॑ नो॒ धियः॑
acchā ca tvainā namasā vadāmasi kiṃ muhuścidvi dīdhayaḥ santi kāmāso harivo dadiṣṭvaṃ smo vayaṃ santi no dhiyaḥ
We speak to you with reverence and salutations: what indeed repeatedly lights (the mind)? There are desires, O Hari, grant them to us; we have intellects.

नूत्ना॒ इदि॑न्द्र ते व॒यमू॒ती अ॑भूम न॒हि नू ते॑ अद्रिवः । वि॒द्मा पु॒रा परी॑णसः
nūtnā idindra te vayamūtī abhūma nahi nū te adrivaḥ vidmā purā parīṇasaḥ
Indra, we have newly come to you; we are not of the earth nor are we your ancient mountains. We know you of old, having grown from before.

वि॒द्मा स॑खि॒त्वमु॒त शू॑र भो॒ज्य१॒॑मा ते॒ ता व॑ज्रिन्नीमहे । उ॒तो स॑मस्मि॒न्ना शि॑शीहि नो वसो॒ वाजे॑ सुशिप्र॒ गोम॑ति
vidmā sakhitvamuta śūra bhojya1mā te tā vajrinnīmahe uto samasminnā śiśīhi no vaso vāje suśipra gomati
We know fellowship with you, brave one; may we enjoy your feast — we will take those splendid spoils of yours. At the same time I am yours; may our wealth, rapid in strength and possessing cattle, be in the offering.

यो न॑ इ॒दमि॑दं पु॒रा प्र वस्य॑ आनि॒नाय॒ तमु॑ वः स्तुषे । सखा॑य॒ इन्द्र॑मू॒तये॑
yo na idamidaṃ purā pra vasya ānināya tamu vaḥ stuṣe sakhāya indramūtaye
He who formerly brought this city into settlement for you — praise that one, O companions, for Indra's awakening.

हर्य॑श्वं॒ सत्प॑तिं चर्षणी॒सहं॒ स हि ष्मा॒ यो अम॑न्दत । आ तु नः॒ स व॑यति॒ गव्य॒मश्व्यं॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॑ म॒घवा॑ श॒तम्
haryaśvaṃ satpatiṃ carṣaṇīsahaṃ sa hi ṣmā yo amandata ā tu naḥ sa vayati gavyamaśvyaṃ stotṛbhyo maghavā śatam
O possessors of cattle, I handled the swift horse and the prosperous chariot that ran; he who was negligent (in guarding) became ashamed. May he bring us the bovine and equine wealth — a hundred gifts from the praisers.

त्वया॑ ह स्विद्यु॒जा व॒यं प्रति॑ श्व॒सन्तं॑ वृषभ ब्रुवीमहि । सं॒स्थे जन॑स्य॒ गोम॑तः
tvayā ha svidyujā vayaṃ prati śvasantaṃ vṛṣabha bruvīmahi saṃsthe janasya gomataḥ
By you we, like lightning-wielders, breathe forth; we call the bull to speak — the established protector of the people from cattle.

जये॑म का॒रे पु॑रुहूत का॒रिणो॒ऽभि ति॑ष्ठेम दू॒ढ्यः॑ । नृभि॑र्वृ॒त्रं ह॒न्याम॑ शूशु॒याम॒ चावे॑रिन्द्र॒ प्र णो॒ धियः॑
jayema kāre puruhūta kāriṇo'bhi tiṣṭhema dūḍhyaḥ nṛbhirvṛtraṃ hanyāma śūśuyāma cāverindra pra ṇo dhiyaḥ
Let us prevail in battle; let the priests stand firm in their functions. We have slain Vritra on behalf of men; O Indra, grant the prize and be present with the wise-headed.

अ॒भ्रा॒तृ॒व्यो अ॒ना त्वमना॑पिरिन्द्र ज॒नुषा॑ स॒नाद॑सि । यु॒धेदा॑पि॒त्वमि॑च्छसे
abhrātṛvyo anā tvamanāpirindra januṣā sanādasi yudhedāpitvamicchase
O thunderer, without boasting you stirred the foe; with your spear you smote him: you declared war on the hostile one. Even in battle you desired to act.

नकी॑ रे॒वन्तं॑ स॒ख्याय॑ विन्दसे॒ पीय॑न्ति ते सुरा॒श्वः॑ । य॒दा कृ॒णोषि॑ नद॒नुं समू॑ह॒स्यादित्पि॒तेव॑ हूयसे
nakī revantaṃ sakhyāya vindase pīyanti te surāśvaḥ yadā kṛṇoṣi nadanuṃ samūhasyāditpiteva hūyase
You find the roaring friend; your swift charioteers drink the wines. When you strike the river and the host, as a father is invoked you perform the oblation.

मा ते॑ अमा॒जुरो॑ यथा मू॒रास॑ इन्द्र स॒ख्ये त्वाव॑तः । नि ष॑दाम॒ सचा॑ सु॒ते
mā te amājuro yathā mūrāsa indra sakhye tvāvataḥ ni ṣadāma sacā sute
Do not treat us as contemptible fools, O Indra, in friendship with your company. Let us sit down together with the dear sons.

मा ते॑ गोदत्र॒ निर॑राम॒ राध॑स॒ इन्द्र॒ मा ते॑ गृहामहि । दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑द॒र्यः प्र मृ॑शा॒भ्या भ॑र॒ न ते॑ दा॒मान॑ आ॒दभे॑
mā te godatra nirarāma rādhasa indra mā te gṛhāmahi dṛḷhā cidaryaḥ pra mṛśābhyā bhara na te dāmāna ādabhe
Do not take away our kine, our foes' enclosures, O Indra; do not house us. Strengthen the strong, bruise the weak: bear not from us the tribute, ward off the slanderers.

इन्द्रो॑ वा॒ घेदिय॑न्म॒घं सर॑स्वती वा सु॒भगा॑ द॒दिर्वसु॑ । त्वं वा॑ चित्र दा॒शुषे॑
indro vā ghediyanmaghaṃ sarasvatī vā subhagā dadirvasu tvaṃ vā citra dāśuṣe
Indra pierced riches, Sarasvatī bestowed prosperity; you, O manifold-gifted, have given splendid wealth. You are the wondrous dispenser of treasures.

चित्र॒ इद्राजा॑ राज॒का इद॑न्य॒के य॒के सर॑स्वती॒मनु॑ । प॒र्जन्य॑ इव त॒तन॒द्धि वृ॒ष्ट्या स॒हस्र॑म॒युता॒ दद॑त्
citra idrājā rājakā idanyake yake sarasvatīmanu parjanya iva tatanaddhi vṛṣṭyā sahasramayutā dadat
This kingly Chitra, like Indra, granted to many another of the kings, like Parjanya gave by rain — he bestowed a thousand-year life.
