nakī revantaṃ sakhyāya vindase pīyanti te surāśvaḥ yadā kṛṇoṣi nadanuṃ samūhasyāditpiteva hūyase
You find the roaring friend; your swift charioteers drink the wines. When you strike the river and the host, as a father is invoked you perform the oblation.
You acknowledge no friendship for the wealthy man (who makes no offerings); those who are puffed upwith wine offered you; when you instrumental tute (the sacrifice), you expelled niggardliness, and you are invoked as aprotector.
Thou findest not the wealthy man to be thy friend: those scorn thee who are flown with wine. What time thou thunderest and gatherest, then thou, even as a Father, art invoked.
