अबु॑ध्रमु॒ त्य इन्द्र॑वन्तो अ॒ग्नयो॒ ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्त उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु । म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी चे॑तता॒मपो॒ऽद्या दे॒वाना॒मव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे
abudhramu tya indravanto agnayo jyotirbharanta uṣaso vyuṣṭiṣu mahī dyāvāpṛthivī cetatāmapo'dyā devānāmava ā vṛṇīmahe
Unfettered, Indra-bearing, they fill Agni’s light into the mornings and the expansions. Earth, heaven, and atmosphere—today we choose the waters, first of the gods we have sought.

दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्योरव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे मा॒तॄन्सिन्धू॒न्पर्व॑ताञ्छर्य॒णाव॑तः । अ॒ना॒गा॒स्त्वं सूर्य॑मु॒षास॑मीमहे भ॒द्रं सोमः॑ सुवा॒नो अ॒द्या कृ॑णोतु नः
divaspṛthivyorava ā vṛṇīmahe mātṝnsindhūnparvatāñcharyaṇāvataḥ anāgāstvaṃ sūryamuṣāsamīmahe bhadraṃ somaḥ suvāno adyā kṛṇotu naḥ
We choose space between heaven and earth; mothers, rivers, mountains, and marshes on either side. O brilliant sun, may you grant us favor today; Soma, beneficent one, make auspicious for us.

द्यावा॑ नो अ॒द्य पृ॑थि॒वी अना॑गसो म॒ही त्रा॑येतां सुवि॒ताय॑ मा॒तरा॑ । उ॒षा उ॒च्छन्त्यप॑ बाधताम॒घं स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
dyāvā no adya pṛthivī anāgaso mahī trāyetāṃ suvitāya mātarā uṣā ucchantyapa bādhatāmaghaṃ svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
May heaven and earth protect us today, unattained mothers; may they guard the world for the welfare. Dawn rises; may evil be removed; we invoke Auspicious Agni with offerings of fuel.

iyaṃ na usrā prathamā sudevyaṃ revatsanibhyo revatī vyucchatu āre manyuṃ durvidatrasya dhīmahi svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
This Ushas is not the first, a good goddess; from the clinging herds she parts like Revatī. We conceive the unpressing foe’s mind; Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

प्र याः सिस्र॑ते॒ सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभि॒र्ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्तीरु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु । भ॒द्रा नो॑ अ॒द्य श्रव॑से॒ व्यु॑च्छत स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
pra yāḥ sisrate sūryasya raśmibhirjyotirbharantīruṣaso vyuṣṭiṣu bhadrā no adya śravase vyucchata svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
They bear the sun’s rays that spread; they fill the light among the expanses. May auspicious ones open to us today the listening realms; Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

अ॒न॒मी॒वा उ॒षस॒ आ च॑रन्तु न॒ उद॒ग्नयो॑ जिहतां॒ ज्योति॑षा बृ॒हत् । आयु॑क्षाताम॒श्विना॒ तूतु॑जिं॒ रथं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
anamīvā uṣasa ā carantu na udagnayo jihatāṃ jyotiṣā bṛhat āyukṣātāmaśvinā tūtujiṃ rathaṃ svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
May the dawns move forth uninjured and may the unfailing suns not destroy their great lights. May the Ashvins prolong lives; bolster the chariot—Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

श्रेष्ठं॑ नो अ॒द्य स॑वित॒र्वरे॑ण्यं भा॒गमा सु॑व॒ स हि र॑त्न॒धा असि॑ । रा॒यो जनि॑त्रीं धि॒षणा॒मुप॑ ब्रुवे स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
śreṣṭhaṃ no adya savitarvareṇyaṃ bhāgamā suva sa hi ratnadhā asi rāyo janitrīṃ dhiṣaṇāmupa bruve svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
Today may the best Savitṛ, choicest glory, grant portion; you are indeed the best disposer of treasures. I speak of wealth-bringers, progenitors of thought—Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

पिप॑र्तु मा॒ तदृ॒तस्य॑ प्र॒वाच॑नं दे॒वानां॒ यन्म॑नु॒ष्या॒३॒॑ अम॑न्महि । विश्वा॒ इदु॒स्राः स्पळुदे॑ति॒ सूर्यः॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
pipartu mā tadṛtasya pravācanaṃ devānāṃ yanmanuṣyā3 amanmahi viśvā idusrāḥ spaḷudeti sūryaḥ svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
Let not that speech of the gods befool us which men have uttered; the radiant sun declares all these fruitful days. Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

अ॒द्वे॒षो अ॒द्य ब॒र्हिषः॒ स्तरी॑मणि॒ ग्राव्णां॒ योगे॒ मन्म॑नः॒ साध॑ ईमहे । आ॒दि॒त्यानां॒ शर्म॑णि॒ स्था भु॑रण्यसि स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
adveṣo adya barhiṣaḥ starīmaṇi grāvṇāṃ yoge manmanaḥ sādha īmahe ādityānāṃ śarmaṇi sthā bhuraṇyasi svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
Today the priests’ offerings are not hostile; we uphold the jewel-like Soma in the union of minds. In the shelter of the Ādityas stand firm, O you who nourish—Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

आ नो॑ ब॒र्हिः स॑ध॒मादे॑ बृ॒हद्दि॒वि दे॒वाँ ई॑ळे सा॒दया॑ स॒प्त होतॄ॑न् । इन्द्रं॑ मि॒त्रं वरु॑णं सा॒तये॒ भगं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
ā no barhiḥ sadhamāde bṛhaddivi devām̐ īḷe sādayā sapta hotṝn indraṃ mitraṃ varuṇaṃ sātaye bhagaṃ svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
Bring forth to us the sacred hymn from the altar, wide in the sky, that calls the gods and sets the seven priests. Praise Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa; be propitious, Agni—we invoke you with fuel.

त आ॑दित्या॒ आ ग॑ता स॒र्वता॑तये वृ॒धे नो॑ य॒ज्ञम॑वता सजोषसः । बृह॒स्पतिं॑ पू॒षण॑म॒श्विना॒ भगं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
ta ādityā ā gatā sarvatātaye vṛdhe no yajñamavatā sajoṣasaḥ bṛhaspatiṃ pūṣaṇamaśvinā bhagaṃ svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
The Adityas have come, all in increase; may they install for us the youthful sacrifice with delight. Brihaspati, Pūṣan, and the Ashvins—be benevolent; Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.

तन्नो॑ देवा यच्छत सुप्रवाच॒नं छ॒र्दिरा॑दित्याः सु॒भरं॑ नृ॒पाय्य॑म् । पश्वे॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय जी॒वसे॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे
tanno devā yacchata supravācanaṃ chardirādityāḥ subharaṃ nṛpāyyam paśve tokāya tanayāya jīvase svastya1gniṃ samidhānamīmahe
May those gods who spoke well that glory of the Sun, auspicious for the king, grant it to him. May the life-giving fire, the fuel-offering, give prosperity to the bull, the offspring, and to the living one.

विश्वे॑ अ॒द्य म॒रुतो॒ विश्व॑ ऊ॒ती विश्वे॑ भवन्त्व॒ग्नयः॒ समि॑द्धाः । विश्वे॑ नो दे॒वा अव॒सा ग॑मन्तु॒ विश्व॑मस्तु॒ द्रवि॑णं॒ वाजो॑ अ॒स्मे
viśve adya maruto viśva ūtī viśve bhavantvagnayaḥ samiddhāḥ viśve no devā avasā gamantu viśvamastu draviṇaṃ vājo asme
May all the Maruts, may all the flames rise, may all the Agnis be purified. May all the gods come to us and may wealth and cattle be ours.

यं दे॑वा॒सोऽव॑थ॒ वाज॑सातौ॒ यं त्राय॑ध्वे॒ यं पि॑पृ॒थात्यंहः॑ । यो वो॑ गोपी॒थे न भ॒यस्य॒ वेद॒ ते स्या॑म दे॒ववी॑तये तुरासः
yaṃ devāso'vatha vājasātau yaṃ trāyadhve yaṃ pipṛthātyaṃhaḥ yo vo gopīthe na bhayasya veda te syāma devavītaye turāsaḥ
Which of the two dwellings of the gods, which that protects you threefold, which roams the earth — may he who knows not fear in the cow-fold be ours. May we be strong for the gods' protection with swift vigour.
