This Ushas is not the first, a good goddess; from the clinging herds she parts like Revatī. We conceive the unpressing foe’s mind; Auspicious Agni we invoke with fuel.
May this first dawn, the possessor of wealth, open; bringing to us who are liberal (a season) fit for thegods, abounding with riches; we consider the anger of the malevolent (to be) remote; we solicit the kindled firefor our welfare.
May this first Dawn bring us the host of gracious Gods: rich, may it richly shine for us who strive for wealth. The wrath of the malignant may we keep afar. We pray to kindled Agni for feilicity.
