अबु॑ध्रमु॒ त्य इन्द्र॑वन्तो अ॒ग्नयो॒ ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्त उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु । म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी चे॑तता॒मपो॒ऽद्या दे॒वाना॒मव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे
abudhramu tya indravanto agnayo jyotirbharanta uṣaso vyuṣṭiṣu mahī dyāvāpṛthivī cetatāmapo'dyā devānāmava ā vṛṇīmahe
Unfettered, Indra-bearing, they fill Agni’s light into the mornings and the expansions. Earth, heaven, and atmosphere—today we choose the waters, first of the gods we have sought.
The fires that are connected with Indra are awake, bringing light at the opening of the dawn; let thegreat heaven and earth be cognizant of that office; to-day we solicit the protection of the gods.
THESE fires associate with Indra are awake, bringing their light when first the Dawn begins to shine. May Heaven and Earth, great Pair, observe our holy work. We claim for us this day the favour of the Gods.
