अग्ने॒ विव॑स्वदु॒षस॑श्चि॒त्रं राधो॑ अमर्त्य । आ दा॒शुषे॑ जातवेदो वहा॒ त्वम॒द्या दे॒वाँ उ॑ष॒र्बुधः॑
agne vivasvaduṣasaścitraṃ rādho amartya ā dāśuṣe jātavedo vahā tvamadyā devām̐ uṣarbudhaḥ
Agni, shining with splendour, marvelously radiant, giver of life to the immortal—Jatavedas, bring hither today the gods and the dawn’s protector.

जुष्टो॒ हि दू॒तो असि॑ हव्य॒वाह॒नोऽग्ने॑ र॒थीर॑ध्व॒राणा॑म् । स॒जूर॒श्विभ्या॑मु॒षसा॑ सु॒वीर्य॑म॒स्मे धे॑हि॒ श्रवो॑ बृ॒हत्
juṣṭo hi dūto asi havyavāhano'gne rathīradhvarāṇām sajūraśvibhyāmuṣasā suvīryamasme dhehi śravo bṛhat
Truly you are the envoy, Agni, bearer of the oblation, the charioteer who guides the bands; with fleet horses, victorious, accept for us the great fame and widen our glory.

अ॒द्या दू॒तं वृ॑णीमहे॒ वसु॑म॒ग्निं पु॑रुप्रि॒यम् । धू॒मके॑तुं॒ भाऋ॑जीकं॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु य॒ज्ञाना॑मध्वर॒श्रिय॑म्
adyā dūtaṃ vṛṇīmahe vasumagniṃ purupriyam dhūmaketuṃ bhāṛjīkaṃ vyuṣṭiṣu yajñānāmadhvaraśriyam
Today we have chosen the envoy, the blessed Agni, dear to men; set aflame the smoke-banner, the radiance of the ritual, the grandeur of the assembled sacrifices.

श्रेष्ठं॒ यवि॑ष्ठ॒मति॑थिं॒ स्वा॑हुतं॒ जुष्टं॒ जना॑य दा॒शुषे॑ । दे॒वाँ अच्छा॒ यात॑वे जा॒तवे॑दसम॒ग्निमी॑ळे॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु
śreṣṭhaṃ yaviṣṭhamatithiṃ svāhutaṃ juṣṭaṃ janāya dāśuṣe devām̐ acchā yātave jātavedasamagnimīḷe vyuṣṭiṣu
Best among those invited, the honoured guest, fittingly welcomed for the folk—bring hither the gods, go forth with Jatavedas Agni to the assembled rites.

स्त॒वि॒ष्यामि॒ त्वाम॒हं विश्व॑स्यामृत भोजन । अग्ने॑ त्रा॒तार॑म॒मृतं॑ मियेध्य॒ यजि॑ष्ठं हव्यवाहन
staviṣyāmi tvāmahaṃ viśvasyāmṛta bhojana agne trātāramamṛtaṃ miyedhya yajiṣṭhaṃ havyavāhana
I will laud you who give the immortality of the world’s food. O Agni, bring the immortal drink, be our savior, bearer of the sacrifice and oblation.

सु॒शंसो॑ बोधि गृण॒ते य॑विष्ठ्य॒ मधु॑जिह्वः॒ स्वा॑हुतः । प्रस्क॑ण्वस्य प्रति॒रन्नायु॑र्जी॒वसे॑ नम॒स्या दैव्यं॒ जन॑म्
suśaṃso bodhi gṛṇate yaviṣṭhya madhujihvaḥ svāhutaḥ praskaṇvasya pratirannāyurjīvase namasyā daivyaṃ janam
The well-praised one speaks, awakening like the honey-tongued; offered with oblation he bestows prosperity. May he, sprinkling, grant renewed life and divine progeny to you, praised one.

होता॑रं वि॒श्ववे॑दसं॒ सं हि त्वा॒ विश॑ इ॒न्धते॑ । स आ व॑ह पुरुहूत॒ प्रचे॑त॒सोऽग्ने॑ दे॒वाँ इ॒ह द्र॒वत्
hotāraṃ viśvavedasaṃ saṃ hi tvā viśa indhate sa ā vaha puruhūta pracetaso'gne devām̐ iha dravat
Among the all-knowing Hotṛs you indeed kindle him: he carried the prayerful one, Agni, bringing the gods here to move.

स॒वि॒तार॑मु॒षस॑म॒श्विना॒ भग॑म॒ग्निं व्यु॑ष्टिषु॒ क्षपः॑ । कण्वा॑सस्त्वा सु॒तसो॑मास इन्धते हव्य॒वाहं॑ स्वध्वर
savitāramuṣasamaśvinā bhagamagniṃ vyuṣṭiṣu kṣapaḥ kaṇvāsastvā sutasomāsa indhate havyavāhaṃ svadhvara
O Savitṛ and Ushas, like the twins of light you established Agni among the dwellings. Kanva, son of Sutasoṃ, you kindle the oblation-bearing priest at the sacred threshold.

पति॒र्ह्य॑ध्व॒राणा॒मग्ने॑ दू॒तो वि॒शामसि॑ । उ॒ष॒र्बुध॒ आ व॑ह॒ सोम॑पीतये दे॒वाँ अ॒द्य स्व॒र्दृशः॑
patirhyadhvarāṇāmagne dūto viśāmasi uṣarbudha ā vaha somapītaye devām̐ adya svardṛśaḥ
O Agni, you are indeed envoy of the household-lords; bring near the soma-drink for drinking. Today, visible among the gods, you come truly as the lord who sees.

अग्ने॒ पूर्वा॒ अनू॒षसो॑ विभावसो दी॒देथ॑ वि॒श्वद॑र्शतः । असि॒ ग्रामे॑ष्ववि॒ता पु॒रोहि॒तोऽसि॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॒ मानु॑षः
agne pūrvā anūṣaso vibhāvaso dīdetha viśvadarśataḥ asi grāmeṣvavitā purohito'si yajñeṣu mānuṣaḥ
Agni, you stood before as dispenser of delights and illuminer of visions. In villages you are the priest, foremost among men, the establisher in sacrifices.

नि त्वा॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॒ साध॑न॒मग्ने॒ होता॑रमृ॒त्विज॑म् । म॒नु॒ष्वद्दे॑व धीमहि॒ प्रचे॑तसं जी॒रं दू॒तमम॑र्त्यम्
ni tvā yajñasya sādhanamagne hotāramṛtvijam manuṣvaddeva dhīmahi pracetasaṃ jīraṃ dūtamamartyam
Do not deny, Agni, the consecration of the sacrifice—the Hotṛ, the priest among mortals. We invoke you, O human-minded god, send the vigorous messenger, the immortal envoy.

यद्दे॒वानां॑ मित्रमहः पु॒रोहि॒तोऽन्त॑रो॒ यासि॑ दू॒त्य॑म् । सिन्धो॑रिव॒ प्रस्व॑नितास ऊ॒र्मयो॒ऽग्नेर्भ्रा॑जन्ते अ॒र्चयः॑
yaddevānāṃ mitramahaḥ purohito'ntaro yāsi dūtyam sindhoriva prasvanitāsa ūrmayo'gnerbhrājante arcayaḥ
When you went as intermediary, O priest, between the gods and their friends, you were the envoy. Like the Sindhu’s rushing waves agni’s offerings flowed and the oblations were praised.

श्रु॒धि श्रु॑त्कर्ण॒ वह्नि॑भिर्दे॒वैर॑ग्ने स॒याव॑भिः । आ सी॑दन्तु ब॒र्हिषि॑ मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा प्रा॑त॒र्यावा॑णो अध्व॒रम्
śrudhi śrutkarṇa vahnibhirdevairagne sayāvabhiḥ ā sīdantu barhiṣi mitro aryamā prātaryāvāṇo adhvaram
Hear, O Agni, the call borne by speech and ear by the gods and let them sit in the hymn. May Mitra and Aryaman take their seats with the morning-steers at the oblation.

शृ॒ण्वन्तु॒ स्तोमं॑ म॒रुतः॑ सु॒दान॑वोऽग्निजि॒ह्वा ऋ॑ता॒वृधः॑ । पिब॑तु॒ सोमं॒ वरु॑णो धृ॒तव्र॑तो॒ऽश्विभ्या॑मु॒षसा॑ स॒जूः
śaṛṇvantu stomaṃ marutaḥ sudānavo'gnijihvā ṛtāvṛdhaḥ pibatu somaṃ varuṇo dhṛtavrato'śvibhyāmuṣasā sajūḥ
Let them hear the hymn, Maruts, generous in gifts; Agni with his tongue of flame increases the rites. Let Varuṇa, steadfast in vow, drink the soma with the horses and the ritual folk.
