Best among those invited, the honoured guest, fittingly welcomed for the folk—bring hither the gods, go forth with Jatavedas Agni to the assembled rites.
I praise Agni at the break of day, the best and youngest (of the gods), the guest (of man), the universally-invoked, who is friendly to the man that offers (oblations), who knows all that are born, that he may go (to bring) the other divinities.
Him noblest and most youthful, richly worshipped guest, dear to the men who offer gifts, Him, Agni Jatavedas, I beseech at dawn that he may bring the Gods to us.
