अग्ने॒ पूर्वा॒ अनू॒षसो॑ विभावसो दी॒देथ॑ वि॒श्वद॑र्शतः । असि॒ ग्रामे॑ष्ववि॒ता पु॒रोहि॒तोऽसि॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॒ मानु॑षः
agne pūrvā anūṣaso vibhāvaso dīdetha viśvadarśataḥ asi grāmeṣvavitā purohito'si yajñeṣu mānuṣaḥ
Agni, you stood before as dispenser of delights and illuminer of visions. In villages you are the priest, foremost among men, the establisher in sacrifices.
Resplendent Agni, visible to all, you have blazed after many preceding dawns, you are the protector (of people) in villages, you are the associate of man plural ced on the east (of the altar).
Thou shonest forth, O Agni, after former dawns, all visible, O rich in light. Thou art our help in battle-strife, the Friend of inan, the great high priest in sacrifice.
