Do not deny, Agni, the consecration of the sacrifice—the Hotṛ, the priest among mortals. We invoke you, O human-minded god, send the vigorous messenger, the immortal envoy.

We plural ce you, Agni, as Manu plural ced you, who are the implement of sacrifice, the invoker, the ministering priest, very wise, the destroyer (of foes), immortal, the messenger (of the gods).

Like Manu, we will stablish thee, Agni, performer of the rite, Invoker, ministering Priest, exceeding wise, the swift immortal messenger.
