यच्चि॒द्धि ते॒ विशो॑ यथा॒ प्र दे॑व वरुण व्र॒तम् । मि॒नी॒मसि॒ द्यवि॑द्यवि
yacciddhi te viśo yathā pra deva varuṇa vratam minīmasi dyavidyavi
Assoever is your command, O Varuṇa, so was it among the gods. I have measured (or made) this in heaven and on earth.

Do not, for my sake, slay the hunter, nor strike the one who draws the bow; do not take away his mind from him.

May your mind be like to the chariot, free, not yoked to the thorn; with songs we extol Varuṇa.

They indeed fall, those who think otherwise, for the sake of mastery; we do not enter (their) dwelling.

When shall we, men, perform the brilliant sacrificial honour for sovereign Varuṇa? — the two strong‑limbed (ones) observe the rite.

They, alike in that, sought (it) — the bringers did not ask; for the resolute‑vowed one is a giver to the Dāśu.

He who knows the Veda let the veena's string fall through the atmosphere; he knows the ship of the ocean.

He knows the month: the resolute‑vowed has twelve progenies; he knows what is born.

He knows the motion of the wind, the spiral of the mountain beast's roar; he knows those who dwell above.

The resolute‑vowed sat down; Varuṇa, may he be favourable: with sovereign power, the well‑doing one.

May the wide‑minded Sūkratu, the son of Aditya, bestow upon us the universal support; grant length of life, increase.

bibhraddrāpiṃ hiraṇyayaṃ varuṇo vasta nirṇijam pari spaśo ni ṣedire
Varuṇa sustains the golden draught; he has established (it) surrounded by waters, touching around.

They do not kindle that which the bright ones kindle, nor the hostile among mankind; the gods are not inclined thereto.

He who earned fame among men and made glory — that one moved in our bellies.

My thoughts go beyond; the cows do not follow the cows’ path. They desired and beheld the shining one.

Say again to us that which is sweet and honey-bearing to me; you indeed are the priest who cares, beloved.

Behold the universally seen vision, behold the chariot’s restraint I can endure; these words please me.

O Varuṇa, hear this boon of mine; today I invoke the worship; the strong one chose you.

You are the intelligence of the universe, you move in heaven and are king; hear me concerning these nights.

उदु॑त्त॒मं मु॑मुग्धि नो॒ वि पाशं॑ मध्य॒मं चृ॑त । अवा॑ध॒मानि॑ जी॒वसे॑
uduttamaṃ mumugdhi no vi pāśaṃ madhyamaṃ cṛta avādhamāni jīvase
Lift up the highest, O delighted one; remove from us the binding and take the middle away. Having slain, you give life.
