य॒ज्ञाय॑ज्ञा वो अ॒ग्नये॑ गि॒रागि॑रा च॒ दक्ष॑से । प्रप्र॑ व॒यम॒मृतं॑ जा॒तवे॑दसं प्रि॒यं मि॒त्रं न शं॑सिषम्
yajñāyajñā vo agnaye girāgirā ca dakṣase prapra vayamamṛtaṃ jātavedasaṃ priyaṃ mitraṃ na śaṃsiṣam
For the sacrifice, sacrifices to Agni, the mountain-like, Daksha’s seer. We brought forth immortal Jātavedas; dear Mitra, do not reproach.

ऊ॒र्जो नपा॑तं॒ स हि॒नायम॑स्म॒युर्दाशे॑म ह॒व्यदा॑तये । भुव॒द्वाजे॑ष्ववि॒ता भुव॑द्वृ॒ध उ॒त त्रा॒ता त॒नूना॑म्
ūrjo napātaṃ sa hināyamasmayurdāśema havyadātaye bhuvadvājeṣvavitā bhuvadvṛdha uta trātā tanūnām
The youthful lord fell not; he indeed furnished the oblation for our share. In Bhuvadwāja’s houses he grows, protector of bodies.

वृषा॒ ह्य॑ग्ने अ॒जरो॑ म॒हान्वि॒भास्य॒र्चिषा॑ । अज॑स्रेण शो॒चिषा॒ शोशु॑चच्छुचे सुदी॒तिभिः॒ सु दी॑दिहि
vṛṣā hyagne ajaro mahānvibhāsyarciṣā ajasreṇa śociṣā śośucacchuce sudītibhiḥ su dīdihi
Oxen for Agni are tireless, shining with great fires. By endless offerings the one who laments is cleansed; grant him bright glory.

म॒हो दे॒वान्यज॑सि॒ यक्ष्या॑नु॒षक्तव॒ क्रत्वो॒त दं॒सना॑ । अ॒र्वाचः॑ सीं कृणुह्य॒ग्नेऽव॑से॒ रास्व॒ वाजो॒त वं॑स्व
maho devānyajasi yakṣyānuṣaktava kratvota daṃsanā arvācaḥ sīṃ kṛṇuhyagne'vase rāsva vājota vaṃsva
You have offered great sacrifices to the gods; the ritual was constantly attended. O Agni, make the oblations flow; bring the strength of wealth and the song of power.

यमापो॒ अद्र॑यो॒ वना॒ गर्भ॑मृ॒तस्य॒ पिप्र॑ति । सह॑सा॒ यो म॑थि॒तो जाय॑ते॒ नृभिः॑ पृथि॒व्या अधि॒ सान॑वि
yamāpo adrayo vanā garbhamṛtasya piprati sahasā yo mathito jāyate nṛbhiḥ pṛthivyā adhi sānavi
Yama the waters, the mountain streams, the forest-born womb of immortality they invoked. He who is born by might arises among men over the earth with heroes.

आ यः प॒प्रौ भा॒नुना॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे धू॒मेन॑ धावते दि॒वि । ति॒रस्तमो॑ ददृश॒ ऊर्म्या॒स्वा श्या॒वास्व॑रु॒षो वृषा श्या॒वा अ॑रु॒षो वृषा॑
ā yaḥ paprau bhānunā rodasī ubhe dhūmena dhāvate divi tirastamo dadṛśa ūrmyāsvā śyāvāsvaruṣo vṛṣā śyāvā aruṣo vṛṣā
He who with the sun and the dawn went on both ways with smoke runs in the sky. He saw the opposite darkness: the waves are tawny, the brown waves, oxen tawny, the tawny bulls.

बृ॒हद्भि॑रग्ने अ॒र्चिभिः॑ शु॒क्रेण॑ देव शो॒चिषा॑ । भ॒रद्वा॑जे समिधा॒नो य॑विष्ठ्य रे॒वन्नः॑ शुक्र दीदिहि द्यु॒मत्पा॑वक दीदिहि
bṛhadbhiragne arcibhiḥ śukreṇa deva śociṣā bharadvāje samidhāno yaviṣṭhya revannaḥ śukra dīdihi dyumatpāvaka dīdihi
Great Agni with wide flames, shining with brightness. O bring the fuel to Bharadvāja; grant us butter and shining gifts; give light of heaven like the purifier.

विश्वा॑सां गृ॒हप॑तिर्वि॒शाम॑सि॒ त्वम॑ग्ने॒ मानु॑षीणाम् । श॒तं पू॒र्भिर्य॑विष्ठ पा॒ह्यंह॑सः समे॒द्धारं॑ श॒तं हिमाः॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ ये च॒ दद॑ति
viśvāsāṃ gṛhapatirviśāmasi tvamagne mānuṣīṇām śataṃ pūrbhiryaviṣṭha pāhyaṃhasaḥ sameddhāraṃ śataṃ himāḥ stotṛbhyo ye ca dadati
Lord of homes of all, you traverse the dwellings, Agni, of men. Hundredfold your ancients protect the oxen; the praise of snow they give to those who offer.

tvaṃ naścitra ūtyā vaso rādhāṃsi codaya asya rāyastvamagne rathīrasi vidā gādhaṃ tuce tu naḥ
You, wondrous, hasten with wealth and urge on the chariot. O Agni, you are kingly, you are the charioteer; remove the hostile one from us.

parṣi tokaṃ tanayaṃ partṛbhiṣṭvamadabdhairaprayutvabhiḥ agne heḷāṃsi daivyā yuyodhi no'devāni hvarāṃsi ca
Strike the breast, O bringer of offspring; with desired protectors and unbroken aids. Agni, you occupy the divine seat; fight our foes and the invaders.

ā sakhāyaḥ sabardughāṃ dhenumajadhvamupa navyasā vacaḥ sṛjadhvamanapasphurām
Bring forth, O friends, the milk-bearing kine; bind them with new intent and speak the verse; create anew the bursting light.

yā śardhāya mārutāya svabhānave śravo'mṛtyu dhukṣata yā mṛḷīke marutāṃ turāṇāṃ yā sumnairevayāvarī
The boon to the Marut for wealth, resounding like the sun’s own song—oa of life and death; the Maruts with slender spears, those who swell like the waters.

bharadvājāyāva dhukṣata dvitā dhenuṃ ca viśvadohasamiṣaṃ ca viśvabhojasam
Bharadvāja, as if a bull, pressed twofold; the cow, nourishing all, gave milk and gave universal food.

taṃ va indraṃ na sukratuṃ varuṇamiva māyinam aryamaṇaṃ na mandraṃ sṛprabhojasaṃ viṣṇuṃ na stuṣa ādiśe
May they not make Indra unrighteous as if they had made Varuṇa a magian; not to dishonor Aryaman nor undervalue the gentle Vishṇu did they command praise.

त्वे॒षं शर्धो॒ न मारु॑तं तुवि॒ष्वण्य॑न॒र्वाणं॑ पू॒षणं॒ सं यथा॑ श॒ता । सं स॒हस्रा॒ कारि॑षच्चर्ष॒णिभ्य॒ आँ आ॒विर्गू॒ळ्हा वसू॑ करत्सु॒वेदा॑ नो॒ वसू॑ करत्
tveṣaṃ śardho na mārutaṃ tuviṣvaṇyanarvāṇaṃ pūṣaṇaṃ saṃ yathā śatā saṃ sahasrā kāriṣaccarṣaṇibhya ām̐ āvirgūḷhā vasū karatsuvedā no vasū karat
May the brave not be enmity to Marut; may the all-breathing, rescuing Pūṣan be as a hundredfold. Make thousands together, O craftsman: bring the flowing wealth, may the dwellers grant wealth to us.

आ मा॑ पूष॒न्नुप॑ द्रव॒ शंसि॑षं॒ नु ते॑ अपिक॒र्ण आ॑घृणे । अ॒घा अ॒र्यो अरा॑तयः
ā mā pūṣannupa drava śaṃsiṣaṃ nu te apikarṇa āghṛṇe aghā aryo arātayaḥ
Mother Pūṣā, bring near the draught, may you accept praise and take up our ears; the sinless, noble ones remove sins.

मा का॑क॒म्बीर॒मुद्वृ॑हो॒ वन॒स्पति॒मश॑स्ती॒र्वि हि नीन॑शः । मोत सूरो॒ अह॑ ए॒वा च॒न ग्री॒वा आ॒दध॑ते॒ वेः
mā kākambīramudvṛho vanaspatimaśastīrvi hi nīnaśaḥ mota sūro aha evā cana grīvā ādadhate veḥ
May not the crow-like tree-spirited one be hostile; the lord of forests is not to be weakened. The hero (Sūro) indeed places the neck like a chain — the sacrificial song sustains.

दृते॑रिव तेऽवृ॒कम॑स्तु स॒ख्यम् । अच्छि॑द्रस्य दध॒न्वतः॒ सुपू॑र्णस्य दध॒न्वतः॑
dṛteriva te'vṛkamastu sakhyam acchidrasya dadhanvataḥ supūrṇasya dadhanvataḥ
May your covering be like a shield of friends; like the unpierced that holds, like the well-filled that holds.

प॒रो हि मर्त्यै॒रसि॑ स॒मो दे॒वैरु॒त श्रि॒या । अ॒भि ख्यः॑ पूष॒न्पृत॑नासु न॒स्त्वमवा॑ नू॒नं यथा॑ पु॒रा
paro hi martyairasi samo devairuta śriyā abhi khyaḥ pūṣanpṛtanāsu nastvamavā nūnaṃ yathā purā
Beyond is mortality, equal with gods is wealth of splendor. Pūṣan, do not strike in the faces; you were surely before, as in former times.

वा॒मी वा॒मस्य॑ धूतयः॒ प्रणी॑तिरस्तु सू॒नृता॑ । दे॒वस्य॑ वा मरुतो॒ मर्त्य॑स्य वेजा॒नस्य॑ प्रयज्यवः
vāmī vāmasya dhūtayaḥ praṇītirastu sūnṛtā devasya vā maruto martyasya vejānasya prayajyavaḥ
May the left and the left-hand rites be cleansed; be the vow established, O falsehood removed. Whether divine or Marut, let them be devoted, abandoning the mortal's fetters.

स॒द्यश्चि॒द्यस्य॑ चर्कृ॒तिः परि॒ द्यां दे॒वो नैति॒ सूर्यः॑ । त्वे॒षं शवो॑ दधिरे॒ नाम॑ य॒ज्ञियं॑ म॒रुतो॑ वृत्र॒हं शवो॒ ज्येष्ठं॑ वृत्र॒हं शवः॑
sadyaścidyasya carkṛtiḥ pari dyāṃ devo naiti sūryaḥ tveṣaṃ śavo dadhire nāma yajñiyaṃ maruto vṛtrahaṃ śavo jyeṣṭhaṃ vṛtrahaṃ śavaḥ
The sun does not depart though created and destroyed; they set down the corpse — the sacrificer, the Marut slayer: the corpse is the elder slayer, the corpse is.

स॒कृद्ध॒ द्यौर॑जायत स॒कृद्भूमि॑रजायत । पृश्न्या॑ दु॒ग्धं स॒कृत्पय॒स्तद॒न्यो नानु॑ जायते
sakṛddha dyaurajāyata sakṛdbhūmirajāyata pṛśnyā dugdhaṃ sakṛtpayastadanyo nānu jāyate
Once was heaven born, once earth was born. Often milked by the cloud, often its butter came forth; another is not born alike.
