अच्छा॑ वद त॒वसं॑ गी॒र्भिरा॒भिः स्तु॒हि प॒र्जन्यं॒ नम॒सा वि॑वास । कनि॑क्रदद्वृष॒भो जी॒रदा॑नू॒ रेतो॑ दधा॒त्योष॑धीषु॒ गर्भ॑म्
acchā vada tavasaṃ gīrbhirābhiḥ stuhi parjanyaṃ namasā vivāsa kanikradadvṛṣabho jīradānū reto dadhātyoṣadhīṣu garbham
Speak well with your voices, praise Parjanya with salutations and bellow like the bull, he who places seed and semen into herbs and wombs.

वि वृ॒क्षान्ह॑न्त्यु॒त ह॑न्ति र॒क्षसो॒ विश्वं॑ बिभाय॒ भुव॑नं म॒हाव॑धात् । उ॒ताना॑गा ईषते॒ वृष्ण्या॑वतो॒ यत्प॒र्जन्यः॑ स्त॒नय॒न्हन्ति॑ दु॒ष्कृतः॑
vi vṛkṣānhantyuta hanti rakṣaso viśvaṃ bibhāya bhuvanaṃ mahāvadhāt utānāgā īṣate vṛṣṇyāvato yatparjanyaḥ stanayanhanti duṣkṛtaḥ
Trees are felled by demons; the mighty protector makes the world tremble and achieves great creation. From the lofty nests the creatures long for rain that Parjanya pours forth.

र॒थीव॒ कश॒याश्वा॑ँ अभिक्षि॒पन्ना॒विर्दू॒तान्कृ॑णुते व॒र्ष्या॒ँ३॒॑ अह॑ । दू॒रात्सिं॒हस्य॑ स्त॒नथा॒ उदी॑रते॒ यत्प॒र्जन्यः॑ कृणु॒ते व॒र्ष्यं१॒॑ नभः॑
rathīva kaśayāśvām̐ abhikṣipannāvirdūtānkṛṇute varṣyām̐3 aha dūrātsiṃhasya stanathā udīrate yatparjanyaḥ kṛṇute varṣyaṃ1 nabhaḥ
Like chariot-horses flung forth, the winds make messengers and send down rains; from afar the lion-guard roars when Parjanya makes the heavens rain.

प्र वाता॒ वान्ति॑ प॒तय॑न्ति वि॒द्युत॒ उदोष॑धी॒र्जिह॑ते॒ पिन्व॑ते॒ स्वः॑ । इरा॒ विश्व॑स्मै॒ भुव॑नाय जायते॒ यत्प॒र्जन्यः॑ पृथि॒वीं रेत॒साव॑ति
pra vātā vānti patayanti vidyuta udoṣadhīrjihate pinvate svaḥ irā viśvasmai bhuvanāya jāyate yatparjanyaḥ pṛthivīṃ retasāvati
The winds blow, the fathers fall, lightning rends the herbs; the earth is born for all the world by that Parjanya who pours semen upon the earth.

यस्य॑ व्र॒ते पृ॑थि॒वी नन्न॑मीति॒ यस्य॑ व्र॒ते श॒फव॒ज्जर्भु॑रीति । यस्य॑ व्र॒त ओष॑धीर्वि॒श्वरू॑पाः॒ स नः॑ पर्जन्य॒ महि॒ शर्म॑ यच्छ
yasya vrate pṛthivī nannamīti yasya vrate śaphavajjarbhurīti yasya vrata oṣadhīrviśvarūpāḥ sa naḥ parjanya mahi śarma yaccha
For whose vow the earth gives food and for whose vow the chieftain is abundant—whose vow makes herbs manifold—may that Parjanya, our sustainer, grant us wealth.

दि॒वो नो॑ वृ॒ष्टिं म॑रुतो ररीध्वं॒ प्र पि॑न्वत॒ वृष्णो॒ अश्व॑स्य॒ धाराः॑ । अ॒र्वाङे॒तेन॑ स्तनयि॒त्नुनेह्य॒पो नि॑षि॒ञ्चन्नसु॑रः पि॒ता नः॑
divo no vṛṣṭiṃ maruto rarīdhvaṃ pra pinvata vṛṣṇo aśvasya dhārāḥ arvāṅetena stanayitnunehyapo niṣiñcannasuraḥ pitā naḥ
Rain of the sky, O Marut bring it down; the streams of the steed pour; these drops, fathers, let them milk the rivers; may the father grant us.

अ॒भि क्र॑न्द स्त॒नय॒ गर्भ॒मा धा॑ उद॒न्वता॒ परि॑ दीया॒ रथे॑न । दृतिं॒ सु क॑र्ष॒ विषि॑तं॒ न्य॑ञ्चं स॒मा भ॑वन्तू॒द्वतो॑ निपा॒दाः
abhi kranda stanaya garbhamā dhā udanvatā pari dīyā rathena dṛtiṃ su karṣa viṣitaṃ nyañcaṃ samā bhavantūdvato nipādāḥ
They cried aloud, the wombs gave forth, the mothers moved about, the chariot-borne ones hastened; may they yield strength and bring forth alike, the farmers, the footed ones.

म॒हान्तं॒ कोश॒मुद॑चा॒ नि षि॑ञ्च॒ स्यन्द॑न्तां कु॒ल्या विषि॑ताः पु॒रस्ता॑त् । घृ॒तेन॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी व्यु॑न्धि सुप्रपा॒णं भ॑वत्व॒घ्न्याभ्यः॑
mahāntaṃ kośamudacā ni ṣiñca syandantāṃ kulyā viṣitāḥ purastāt ghṛtena dyāvāpṛthivī vyundhi suprapāṇaṃ bhavatvaghnyābhyaḥ
They make great reservoirs and pour them forth; the streams gush from the east; with clarified butter heaven and earth open, may there be abundant breath for the givers.

यत्प॑र्जन्य॒ कनि॑क्रदत्स्त॒नय॒न्हंसि॑ दु॒ष्कृतः॑ । प्रती॒दं विश्वं॑ मोदते॒ यत्किं च॑ पृथि॒व्यामधि॑
yatparjanya kanikradatstanayanhaṃsi duṣkṛtaḥ pratīdaṃ viśvaṃ modate yatkiṃ ca pṛthivyāmadhi
Where Parjanya roars, he milks the cows though the wicked harm; all the world rejoices at that, whatever is upon the earth.

अव॑र्षीर्व॒र्षमुदु॒ षू गृ॑भा॒याक॒र्धन्वा॒न्यत्ये॑त॒वा उ॑ । अजी॑जन॒ ओष॑धी॒र्भोज॑नाय॒ कमु॒त प्र॒जाभ्यो॑ऽविदो मनी॒षाम्
avarṣīrvarṣamudu ṣū gṛbhāyākardhanvānyatyetavā u ajījana oṣadhīrbhojanāya kamuta prajābhyo'vido manīṣām
He who causes rain and dew, who fills the dwelling and the cattle, who brings forth herbs and food for the living, who bestows offspring and understanding upon the people—may he be gracious to us.
