अव॑र्षीर्व॒र्षमुदु॒ षू गृ॑भा॒याक॒र्धन्वा॒न्यत्ये॑त॒वा उ॑ । अजी॑जन॒ ओष॑धी॒र्भोज॑नाय॒ कमु॒त प्र॒जाभ्यो॑ऽविदो मनी॒षाम्
avarṣīrvarṣamudu ṣū gṛbhāyākardhanvānyatyetavā u ajījana oṣadhīrbhojanāya kamuta prajābhyo'vido manīṣām
He who causes rain and dew, who fills the dwelling and the cattle, who brings forth herbs and food for the living, who bestows offspring and understanding upon the people—may he be gracious to us.
You have rained; now check well the rain; you have made the deserts capable of being crossed; you have given birth to plural ns for (man's) enjoyment; verily you have obtained laudation from the people.
Thou hast poured down the rain-flood now withhold it. Thou hast made desert places fit for travel. Thou hast made herbs to grow for our enjoyment: yea, thou hast won thee praise from living creatures.
