Trees are felled by demons; the mighty protector makes the world tremble and achieves great creation. From the lofty nests the creatures long for rain that Parjanya pours forth.
He strikes down the trees, he destroys the rākṣasas, he terrifies the whole world by his mighty weapon; even the innocent man flies from the sender of rain, when Parjanya, thundering, slays the wicked.
He smites the trees apart, he slays the demons: all life fears him who wields the mighty weapon. From him exceeding strong fices e'en the guiltless, when thundering Parjanya smites the wicked.
