असा॑वि दे॒वं गोऋ॑जीक॒मन्धो॒ न्य॑स्मि॒न्निन्द्रो॑ ज॒नुषे॑मुवोच । बोधा॑मसि त्वा हर्यश्व य॒ज्ञैर्बोधा॑ नः॒ स्तोम॒मन्ध॑सो॒ मदे॑षु
asāvi devaṃ goṛjīkamandho nyasminnindro januṣemuvoca bodhāmasi tvā haryaśva yajñairbodhā naḥ stomamandhaso madeṣu
I place this deity, the cow-protector, near the gomukha; Indra spoke at the knee. You are the awakener, Haryashva, made us aware through sacrifices; awaken our hymn in these riches.

प्र य॑न्ति य॒ज्ञं वि॒पय॑न्ति ब॒र्हिः सो॑म॒मादो॑ वि॒दथे॑ दु॒ध्रवा॑चः । न्यु॑ भ्रियन्ते य॒शसो॑ गृ॒भादा दू॒रउ॑पब्दो॒ वृष॑णो नृ॒षाचः॑
pra yanti yajñaṃ vipayanti barhiḥ somamādo vidathe dudhravācaḥ nyu bhriyante yaśaso gṛbhādā dūraupabdo vṛṣaṇo nṛṣācaḥ
They advance the sacrifice, they spread the sacred grass; the bounteous, the invoker pours the Soma, the clear-voiced spoke. They are not carried off—fame does not depart from the fortified house; the cattle are guarded, the kine remain.

त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ स्रवि॑त॒वा अ॒पस्कः॒ परि॑ष्ठिता॒ अहि॑ना शूर पू॒र्वीः । त्वद्वा॑वक्रे र॒थ्यो॒३॒॑ न धेना॒ रेज॑न्ते॒ विश्वा॑ कृ॒त्रिमा॑णि भी॒षा
tvamindra sravitavā apaskaḥ pariṣṭhitā ahinā śūra pūrvīḥ tvadvāvakre rathyo3 na dhenā rejante viśvā kṛtrimāṇi bhīṣā
Indra, you streamed forth, beset by enemies, surrounding the fallen ones, the strong earlier heroes. You turned the chariot-wheel; cattle do not perish; all created things tremble in fear.

भी॒मो वि॑वे॒षायु॑धेभिरेषा॒मपां॑सि॒ विश्वा॒ नर्या॑णि वि॒द्वान् । इन्द्रः॒ पुरो॒ जर्हृ॑षाणो॒ वि दू॑धो॒द्वि वज्र॑हस्तो महि॒ना ज॑घान
bhīmo viveṣāyudhebhireṣāmapāṃsi viśvā naryāṇi vidvān indraḥ puro jarhṛṣāṇo vi dūdhodvi vajrahasto mahinā jaghāna
Terrible in battle, you searched these waters; all peoples know you. Indra, before the city you overcame the roaring ones; with mighty vajra-hand you smote the great serpent and brought it low.

न या॒तव॑ इन्द्र जूजुवुर्नो॒ न वन्द॑ना शविष्ठ वे॒द्याभिः॑ । स श॑र्धद॒र्यो विषु॑णस्य ज॒न्तोर्मा शि॒श्नदे॑वा॒ अपि॑ गुरृ॒तं नः॑
na yātava indra jūjuvurno na vandanā śaviṣṭha vedyābhiḥ sa śardhadaryo viṣuṇasya jantormā śiśnadevā api gurṛtaṃ naḥ
Not by sacrifice did Indra contend, nor by worship with offerings known; he, the upholder of the sea, spared even the hostile gods; give us greatness, O divine ones, do not withhold.

अ॒भि क्रत्वे॑न्द्र भू॒रध॒ ज्मन्न ते॑ विव्यङ्महि॒मानं॒ रजां॑सि । स्वेना॒ हि वृ॒त्रं शव॑सा ज॒घन्थ॒ न शत्रु॒रन्तं॑ विविदद्यु॒धा ते॑
abhi kratvendra bhūradha jmanna te vivyaṅmahimānaṃ rajāṃsi svenā hi vṛtraṃ śavasā jaghantha na śatrurantaṃ vividadyudhā te
Having struck the mighty Vrtra with sacred rites, we magnified your fame, O king. You indeed smote Vrtra with oblations; no enemy remained: your hosts divided them.

दे॒वाश्चि॑त्ते असु॒र्या॑य॒ पूर्वेऽनु॑ क्ष॒त्राय॑ ममिरे॒ सहां॑सि । इन्द्रो॑ म॒घानि॑ दयते वि॒षह्येन्द्रं॒ वाज॑स्य जोहुवन्त सा॒तौ
devāścitte asuryāya pūrve'nu kṣatrāya mamire sahāṃsi indro maghāni dayate viṣahyendraṃ vājasya johuvanta sātau
Gods and the awe-inspiring powers followed earlier to the realm of sovereignty for my sake. Indra gives the gifts; he pours forth Indra of the might of the prize; they are placed in truth.

की॒रिश्चि॒द्धि त्वामव॑से जु॒हावेशा॑नमिन्द्र॒ सौभ॑गस्य॒ भूरेः॑ । अवो॑ बभूथ शतमूते अ॒स्मे अ॑भिक्ष॒त्तुस्त्वाव॑तो वरू॒ता
kīriściddhi tvāmavase juhāveśānamindra saubhagasya bhūreḥ avo babhūtha śatamūte asme abhikṣattustvāvato varūtā
I sing your famed prosperity; you were placed in hundreds of tunes for us. May abundant wealth come to you; may many and many-fold gifts be granted from you.

सखा॑यस्त इन्द्र वि॒श्वह॑ स्याम नमोवृ॒धासो॑ महि॒ना त॑रुत्र । व॒न्वन्तु॑ स्मा॒ तेऽव॑सा समी॒के॒३॒॑ऽभी॑तिम॒र्यो व॒नुषां॒ शवां॑सि
sakhāyasta indra viśvaha syāma namovṛdhāso mahinā tarutra vanvantu smā te'vasā samīke3'bhītimaryo vanuṣāṃ śavāṃsi
May we be friends with Indra of wide might; salutations to the great spreader, the lofty one. May your dwelling be in front of us; be near, O protector, as you destroy the foes of men and of cattle.

स न॑ इन्द्र॒ त्वय॑ताया इ॒षे धा॒स्त्मना॑ च॒ ये म॒घवा॑नो जु॒नन्ति॑ । वस्वी॒ षु ते॑ जरि॒त्रे अ॑स्तु श॒क्तिर्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
sa na indra tvayatāyā iṣe dhāstmanā ca ye maghavāno junanti vasvī ṣu te jaritre astu śaktiryūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
O Indra, may those who delight in generous gifts desire you and your mind; may the power be in your adorers; may you protect us with blessings always.
