Indra, you streamed forth, beset by enemies, surrounding the fallen ones, the strong earlier heroes. You turned the chariot-wheel; cattle do not perish; all created things tremble in fear.
You, hero, have enabled the many waters arrested by Ahi to flow; by you the rivers rushed forth likecharioteers; all created worlds trembled through fear of you.
Indra, thou settest free the many waters that were encompassed, Hero, by the Dragon. Down rolled, as if on chariots borne, the rivers: through fear of thee all things created tremble.
