जु॒षस्व॑ नः स॒मिध॑मग्ने अ॒द्य शोचा॑ बृ॒हद्य॑ज॒तं धू॒ममृ॒ण्वन् । उप॑ स्पृश दि॒व्यं सानु॒ स्तूपैः॒ सं र॒श्मिभि॑स्ततनः॒ सूर्य॑स्य
juṣasva naḥ samidhamagne adya śocā bṛhadyajataṃ dhūmamṛṇvan upa spṛśa divyaṃ sānu stūpaiḥ saṃ raśmibhistatanaḥ sūryasya
O Agni, burn our fuel today; with mighty rite the smoke ascending makes the large altar alive. Touch the divine, the offerings with thy beams, like the sun.

नरा॒शंस॑स्य महि॒मान॑मेषा॒मुप॑ स्तोषाम यज॒तस्य॑ य॒ज्ञैः । ये सु॒क्रत॑वः॒ शुच॑यो धियं॒धाः स्वद॑न्ति दे॒वा उ॒भया॑नि ह॒व्या
narāśaṃsasya mahimānameṣāmupa stoṣāma yajatasya yajñaiḥ ye sukratavaḥ śucayo dhiyaṃdhāḥ svadanti devā ubhayāni havyā
We praise the fame and greatness of those men who perform rites, the pure doers who cherish wisdom; the gods accept both oblations from them.

ई॒ळेन्यं॑ वो॒ असु॑रं सु॒दक्ष॑म॒न्तर्दू॒तं रोद॑सी सत्य॒वाच॑म् । म॒नु॒ष्वद॒ग्निं मनु॑ना॒ समि॑द्धं॒ सम॑ध्व॒राय॒ सद॒मिन्म॑हेम
īḷenyaṃ vo asuraṃ sudakṣamantardūtaṃ rodasī satyavācam manuṣvadagniṃ manunā samiddhaṃ samadhvarāya sadaminmahema
I invoke for you, with formula, an adept envoy to the Asura, a messenger bearing true speech and tears. May man-born Agni, kindled by Manu, go with the straight path and the firm dwelling.

स॒प॒र्यवो॒ भर॑माणा अभि॒ज्ञु प्र वृ॑ञ्जते॒ नम॑सा ब॒र्हिर॒ग्नौ । आ॒जुह्वा॑ना घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठं॒ पृष॑द्व॒दध्व॑र्यवो ह॒विषा॑ मर्जयध्वम्
saparyavo bharamāṇā abhijñu pra vṛñjate namasā barhiragnau ājuhvānā ghṛtapṛṣṭhaṃ pṛṣadvadadhvaryavo haviṣā marjayadhvam
Those carrying saparyava (offerings), skilled, approach with homage to the high, outward Agni. Having invoked, smear the ghee‑backed cake; purify the givers with oblations and offerings.

स्वा॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ वि दुरो॑ देव॒यन्तोऽशि॑श्रयू रथ॒युर्दे॒वता॑ता । पू॒र्वी शिशुं॒ न मा॒तरा॑ रिहा॒णे सम॒ग्रुवो॒ न सम॑नेष्वञ्जन्
svādhyo3 vi duro devayanto'śiśrayū rathayurdevatātā pūrvī śiśuṃ na mātarā rihāṇe samagruvo na samaneṣvañjan
The performer of Svadhya who opposes the gods, the harsh one, the charioteer of fame among gods — let not the mother take away the newborn; may not the assembled ones afflict the offerings to the sacrificer.

उ॒त योष॑णे दि॒व्ये म॒ही न॑ उ॒षासा॒नक्ता॑ सु॒दुघे॑व धे॒नुः । ब॒र्हि॒षदा॑ पुरुहू॒ते म॒घोनी॒ आ य॒ज्ञिये॑ सुवि॒ताय॑ श्रयेताम्
uta yoṣaṇe divye mahī na uṣāsānaktā sudugheva dhenuḥ barhiṣadā puruhūte maghonī ā yajñiye suvitāya śrayetām
Whoever to the maiden, on the divine earth, the dawn‑appointed, like a well‑milked cow, brings much milk: may he, the bright priest, with oblations and liberal gifts, obtain shelter in the well‑established sacrifice.

विप्रा॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॒ मानु॑षेषु का॒रू मन्ये॑ वां जा॒तवे॑दसा॒ यज॑ध्यै । ऊ॒र्ध्वं नो॑ अध्व॒रं कृ॑तं॒ हवे॑षु॒ ता दे॒वेषु॑ वनथो॒ वार्या॑णि
viprā yajñeṣu mānuṣeṣu kārū manye vāṃ jātavedasā yajadhyai ūrdhvaṃ no adhvaraṃ kṛtaṃ haveṣu tā deveṣu vanatho vāryāṇi
I hold that the wise among rites and among men consider you as artificers for yajña; upward and downward is made in the oblations — these are the paths in the gods, the courses, the waters.

आ भार॑ती॒ भार॑तीभिः स॒जोषा॒ इळा॑ दे॒वैर्म॑नु॒ष्ये॑भिर॒ग्निः । सर॑स्वती सारस्व॒तेभि॑र॒र्वाक्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीर्ब॒र्हिरेदं स॑दन्तु
ā bhāratī bhāratībhiḥ sajoṣā iḷā devairmanuṣyebhiragniḥ sarasvatī sārasvatebhirarvāktisro devīrbarhiredaṃ sadantu
O Bharati, by Bharatis united, Ilā among the gods with humans, Agni: with Sarasvatī and those of Sarasvat (the waters) — O three‑voiced goddess, may these hymns at the sacred grass be praised.

तन्न॑स्तु॒रीप॒मध॑ पोषयि॒त्नु देव॑ त्वष्ट॒र्वि र॑रा॒णः स्य॑स्व । यतो॑ वी॒रः क॑र्म॒ण्यः॑ सु॒दक्षो॑ यु॒क्तग्रा॑वा॒ जाय॑ते दे॒वका॑मः
tannasturīpamadha poṣayitnu deva tvaṣṭarvi rarāṇaḥ syasva yato vīraḥ karmaṇyaḥ sudakṣo yuktagrāvā jāyate devakāmaḥ
May that nourishment now nourish the abundant—O Tvaṣṭṛ, let the fainting ones become vigorous. From whom the hero who is expert in deeds and mighty, yoked with raiment, is born for the lovers of gods.

वन॑स्प॒तेऽव॑ सृ॒जोप॑ दे॒वान॒ग्निर्ह॒विः श॑मि॒ता सू॑दयाति । सेदु॒ होता॑ स॒त्यत॑रो यजाति॒ यथा॑ दे॒वानां॒ जनि॑मानि॒ वेद॑
vanaspate'va sṛjopa devānagnirhaviḥ śamitā sūdayāti sedu hotā satyataro yajāti yathā devānāṃ janimāni veda
O Lord of forests, Agni who creates and brings forth gods, offering and gifted, may the sacrificial flame rise, appeased. The priest who sits kindled offers truthfully as the gods know the births.

आ या॑ह्यग्ने समिधा॒नो अ॒र्वाङिन्द्रे॑ण दे॒वैः स॒रथं॑ तु॒रेभिः॑ । ब॒र्हिर्न॑ आस्ता॒मदि॑तिः सुपु॒त्रा स्वाहा॑ दे॒वा अ॒मृता॑ मादयन्ताम्
ā yāhyagne samidhāno arvāṅindreṇa devaiḥ sarathaṃ turebhiḥ barhirna āstāmaditiḥ suputrā svāhā devā amṛtā mādayantām
When the priests bring fuel for thy rites, O Agni, with Indra's praises and the gods as charioteers, may the oblation not cease till dawn; may the gods, O svāhā, imbibe immortality and make us glad.
