You, Agni, are the splendor of the skies, the swift energizer, the mover of wonders, the scatterer of stones; you are of the forests, of the herbs, the purifier born as king of men.

तवा॑ग्ने हो॒त्रं तव॑ पो॒त्रमृ॒त्वियं॒ तव॑ ने॒ष्ट्रं त्वम॒ग्निदृ॑ताय॒तः । तव॑ प्रशा॒स्त्रं त्वम॑ध्वरीयसि ब्र॒ह्मा चासि॑ गृ॒हप॑तिश्च नो॒ दमे॑
tavāgne hotraṃ tava potramṛtviyaṃ tava neṣṭraṃ tvamagnidṛtāyataḥ tava praśāstraṃ tvamadhvarīyasi brahmā cāsi gṛhapatiśca no dame
Your priest is yours, your son is immortal, your nostril is Agni’s bearer. Your praised weapon you wield; you become an invoker and are our householder—tame us.

त्वम॑ग्न॒ इन्द्रो॑ वृष॒भः स॒ताम॑सि॒ त्वं विष्णु॑रुरुगा॒यो न॑म॒स्यः॑ । त्वं ब्र॒ह्मा र॑यि॒विद्ब्र॑ह्मणस्पते॒ त्वं वि॑धर्तः सचसे॒ पुरं॑ध्या
tvamagna indro vṛṣabhaḥ satāmasi tvaṃ viṣṇururugāyo namasyaḥ tvaṃ brahmā rayividbrahmaṇaspate tvaṃ vidhartaḥ sacase puraṃdhyā
You, Agni, are Indra, the bull of the strong; you are Vishnu moving wide—salutations. You are Brahma, knower of wealth, lord of sacrificial mantras; you establish rightly and support the city.

त्वम॑ग्ने॒ राजा॒ वरु॑णो धृ॒तव्र॑त॒स्त्वं मि॒त्रो भ॑वसि द॒स्म ईड्यः॑ । त्वम॑र्य॒मा सत्प॑ति॒र्यस्य॑ स॒म्भुजं॒ त्वमंशो॑ वि॒दथे॑ देव भाज॒युः
tvamagne rājā varuṇo dhṛtavratastvaṃ mitro bhavasi dasma īḍyaḥ tvamaryamā satpatiryasya sambhujaṃ tvamaṃśo vidathe deva bhājayuḥ
You, Agni, are king, Varuna upholding the vow; you become Mitra, the friendly one, worshipped with praise. You are Aryaman, lord of what is right, the sharer who grants parts; you are Ansha among gods, bestowing divine shares.

त्वम॑ग्ने॒ त्वष्टा॑ विध॒ते सु॒वीर्यं॒ तव॒ ग्नावो॑ मित्रमहः सजा॒त्य॑म् । त्वमा॑शु॒हेमा॑ ररिषे॒ स्वश्व्यं॒ त्वं न॒रां शर्धो॑ असि पुरू॒वसुः॑
tvamagne tvaṣṭā vidhate suvīryaṃ tava gnāvo mitramahaḥ sajātyam tvamāśuhemā rariṣe svaśvyaṃ tvaṃ narāṃ śardho asi purūvasuḥ
You, O Agni, the artisan who shapes heroic might, your fires and great Mitra are born together. You, who speed with horses, are the radiant one; you are the bestower of wealth and protector of men, ancient and foremost.

त्वम॑ग्ने रु॒द्रो असु॑रो म॒हो दि॒वस्त्वं शर्धो॒ मारु॑तं पृ॒क्ष ई॑शिषे । त्वं वातै॑ररु॒णैर्या॑सि शंग॒यस्त्वं पू॒षा वि॑ध॒तः पा॑सि॒ नु त्मना॑
tvamagne rudro asuro maho divastvaṃ śardho mārutaṃ pṛkṣa īśiṣe tvaṃ vātairaruṇairyāsi śaṃgayastvaṃ pūṣā vidhataḥ pāsi nu tmanā
You, Agni and Rudra, mighty asuras of the bright sky, are the nourisher, the Marut seeker; you have desired the winged one. You are the red one with the winds, O Shankhaja; you, Pūṣā, arranged, obtain with mind, now by the bonds.

tvamagne draviṇodā araṃkṛte tvaṃ devaḥ savitā ratnadhā asi tvaṃ bhago nṛpate vasva īśiṣe tvaṃ pāyurdame yaste'vidhat
O Agni, you who pour forth wealth when invoked; you are the god Savita, the holder of jewels. You, bestower upon the king, grant strength and power; you are the nourisher who gives what he desires.

tvāmagne dama ā viśpatiṃ viśastvāṃ rājānaṃ suvidatramṛñjate tvaṃ viśvāni svanīka patyase tvaṃ sahasrāṇi śatā daśa prati
O Agni, you have conquered the people, you have distributed the spoil; you, illustrious king, are splendidly adorned. You subdue all enemies by your might; you are a thousand, a hundred, tenfold in your manifestations.

त्वाम॑ग्ने पि॒तर॑मि॒ष्टिभि॒र्नर॒स्त्वां भ्रा॒त्राय॒ शम्या॑ तनू॒रुच॑म् । त्वं पु॒त्रो भ॑वसि॒ यस्तेऽवि॑ध॒त्त्वं सखा॑ सु॒शेवः॑ पास्या॒धृषः॑
tvāmagne pitaramiṣṭibhirnarastvāṃ bhrātrāya śamyā tanūrucam tvaṃ putro bhavasi yaste'vidhattvaṃ sakhā suśevaḥ pāsyādhṛṣaḥ
O Agni, you, father of desires for men, you appease your brother with kindly form. May you become the son who knows your nature; as a friend you who serve well keep hold of him.

त्वम॑ग्न ऋ॒भुरा॒के न॑म॒स्य१॒॑स्त्वं वाज॑स्य क्षु॒मतो॑ रा॒य ई॑शिषे । त्वं वि भा॒स्यनु॑ दक्षि दा॒वने॒ त्वं वि॒शिक्षु॑रसि य॒ज्ञमा॒तनिः॑
tvamagna ṛbhurāke namasya1stvaṃ vājasya kṣumato rāya īśiṣe tvaṃ vi bhāsyanu dakṣi dāvane tvaṃ viśikṣurasi yajñamātaniḥ
You, Agni, are to be revered as the radiant leader of the hymns; you are the strength of the Vājas, the preserver of the sacrifice. You who follow the sacrificial blaze, you are the skilled sharer in the ritual, the purifier of the rite.

त्वम॑ग्ने॒ अदि॑तिर्देव दा॒शुषे॒ त्वं होत्रा॒ भार॑ती वर्धसे गि॒रा । त्वमिळा॑ श॒तहि॑मासि॒ दक्ष॑से॒ त्वं वृ॑त्र॒हा व॑सुपते॒ सर॑स्वती
tvamagne aditirdeva dāśuṣe tvaṃ hotrā bhāratī vardhase girā tvamiḷā śatahimāsi dakṣase tvaṃ vṛtrahā vasupate sarasvatī
You, O Agni, are the prime Aditi, the god among gods; you are the priest who increases speech. You are the milker over hundreds of cows, swift in strength; you are the slayer of Vritra, the lord of riches, Sarasvatī.

त्वम॑ग्ने॒ सुभृ॑त उत्त॒मं वय॒स्तव॑ स्पा॒र्हे वर्ण॒ आ सं॒दृशि॒ श्रियः॑ । त्वं वाजः॑ प्र॒तर॑णो बृ॒हन्न॑सि॒ त्वं र॒यिर्ब॑हु॒लो वि॒श्वत॑स्पृ॒थुः
tvamagne subhṛta uttamaṃ vayastava spārhe varṇa ā saṃdṛśi śriyaḥ tvaṃ vājaḥ prataraṇo bṛhannasi tvaṃ rayirbahulo viśvataspṛthuḥ
O Agni, most excellent friend, may your might touch us; show forth the splendour of your forms. You are the vigorous, great-proclaiming, wide-moving praise; you are abundant wealth spreading over the earth.

त्वाम॑ग्न आदि॒त्यास॑ आ॒स्यं१॒॑ त्वां जि॒ह्वां शुच॑यश्चक्रिरे कवे । त्वां रा॑ति॒षाचो॑ अध्व॒रेषु॑ सश्चिरे॒ त्वे दे॒वा ह॒विर॑द॒न्त्याहु॑तम्
tvāmagna ādityāsa āsyaṃ1 tvāṃ jihvāṃ śucayaścakrire kave tvāṃ rātiṣāco adhvareṣu saścire tve devā haviradantyāhutam
You, Agni, and the Sun — you were placed here; you, O tongue, purified, the poets made pure. You, beloved ones, even in the chariots of the swift, long-lasting, the gods have called you offered at the end with oblations.

त्वे अ॑ग्ने॒ विश्वे॑ अ॒मृता॑सो अ॒द्रुह॑ आ॒सा दे॒वा ह॒विर॑द॒न्त्याहु॑तम् । त्वया॒ मर्ता॑सः स्वदन्त आसु॒तिं त्वं गर्भो॑ वी॒रुधां॑ जज्ञिषे॒ शुचिः॑
tve agne viśve amṛtāso adruha āsā devā haviradantyāhutam tvayā martāsaḥ svadanta āsutiṃ tvaṃ garbho vīrudhāṃ jajñiṣe śuciḥ
O Agni, by you all the immortal ones ascended; the gods declared the offering to have been brought. By you mortals swiftly gained their portion; you, pure womb, have sought the heroic offspring.

त्वं तान्सं च॒ प्रति॑ चासि म॒ज्मनाग्ने॑ सुजात॒ प्र च॑ देव रिच्यसे । पृ॒क्षो यदत्र॑ महि॒ना वि ते॒ भुव॒दनु॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी रोद॑सी उ॒भे
tvaṃ tānsaṃ ca prati cāsi majmanāgne sujāta pra ca deva ricyase pṛkṣo yadatra mahinā vi te bhuvadanu dyāvāpṛthivī rodasī ubhe
You, O Agni born in the ritual, attend to them and to me; glorify the gods. As when the spacious one sounded forth here with great might, you, moving, spread through earth and heaven, both shining ones.

ये स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ गोअ॑ग्रा॒मश्व॑पेशस॒मग्ने॑ रा॒तिमु॑पसृ॒जन्ति॑ सू॒रयः॑ । अ॒स्माञ्च॒ ताँश्च॒ प्र हि नेषि॒ वस्य॒ आ बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑
ye stotṛbhyo goagrāmaśvapeśasamagne rātimupasṛjanti sūrayaḥ asmāñca tām̐śca pra hi neṣi vasya ā bṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ
Those mighty ones, like singers, approach the herd of cows, oxen, mares and stallions, O Agni, and bring delight. Grant them to us, and may the brave ones here win great renown for strength and fame in assemblies.
