कं न॑श्चि॒त्रमि॑षण्यसि चिकि॒त्वान्पृ॑थु॒ग्मानं॑ वा॒श्रं वा॑वृ॒धध्यै॑ । कत्तस्य॒ दातु॒ शव॑सो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ॒ तक्ष॒द्वज्रं॑ वृत्र॒तुर॒मपि॑न्वत्
kaṃ naścitramiṣaṇyasi cikitvānpṛthugmānaṃ vāśraṃ vāvṛdhadhyai kattasya dātu śavaso vyuṣṭau takṣadvajraṃ vṛtraturamapinvat
Who has fashioned the wondrous mixture, O healer — wide‑mouthed, full of foam? Whose was the gift in the lair: the chisel, the bolt, the Vritra‑slayer?

स हि द्यु॒ता वि॒द्युता॒ वेति॒ साम॑ पृ॒थुं योनि॑मसुर॒त्वा स॑साद । स सनी॑ळेभिः प्रसहा॒नो अ॑स्य॒ भ्रातु॒र्न ऋ॒ते स॒प्तथ॑स्य मा॒याः
sa hi dyutā vidyutā veti sāma pṛthuṃ yonimasuratvā sasāda sa sanīḷebhiḥ prasahāno asya bhrāturna ṛte saptathasya māyāḥ
He who, shining like lightning, arose and sat in the womb of the wide world, the god — he, with furious shafts, struck down his brother; by that ancient power the spell of the sevenfold was dispelled.

स वाजं॒ याताप॑दुष्पदा॒ यन्स्व॑र्षाता॒ परि॑ षदत्सनि॒ष्यन् । अ॒न॒र्वा यच्छ॒तदु॑रस्य॒ वेदो॒ घ्नञ्छि॒श्नदे॑वाँ अ॒भि वर्प॑सा॒ भूत्
sa vājaṃ yātāpaduṣpadā yansvarṣātā pari ṣadatsaniṣyan anarvā yacchatadurasya vedo ghnañchiśnadevām̐ abhi varpasā bhūt
He who, when the kine wander to ill paths, shepherds them back with effort; who, having struck down the hostile one, brings the godly to growth by oblations,—may that same (Indra) be propitious to us.

स य॒ह्व्यो॒३॒॑ऽवनी॒र्गोष्वर्वा जु॑होति प्रध॒न्या॑सु॒ सस्रिः॑ । अ॒पादो॒ यत्र॒ युज्या॑सोऽर॒था द्रो॒ण्य॑श्वास॒ ईर॑ते घृ॒तं वाः
sa yahvyo3'vanīrgoṣvarvā juhoti pradhanyāsu sasriḥ apādo yatra yujyāso'rathā droṇyaśvāsa īrate ghṛtaṃ vāḥ
He who offers oblations on the earth, pouring the clarified butter from bowls, where the feet are joined for sacrifice, where jars and horses are yoked,—may that bring, by libation, oil or ghee to us.

स रु॒द्रेभि॒रश॑स्तवार॒ ऋभ्वा॑ हि॒त्वी गय॑मा॒रेअ॑वद्य॒ आगा॑त् । व॒म्रस्य॑ मन्ये मिथु॒ना विव॑व्री॒ अन्न॑म॒भीत्या॑रोदयन्मुषा॒यन्
sa rudrebhiraśastavāra ṛbhvā hitvī gayamāreavadya āgāt vamrasya manye mithunā vivavrī annamabhītyārodayanmuṣāyan
He who, praised by the Rudras and the strong, came even to slay the foe in battle; I think he made the red pair pair in mutual union, bringing forth food and rising mightily.

स इद्दासं॑ तुवी॒रवं॒ पति॒र्दन्ष॑ळ॒क्षं त्रि॑शी॒र्षाणं॑ दमन्यत् । अ॒स्य त्रि॒तो न्वोज॑सा वृधा॒नो वि॒पा व॑रा॒हमयो॑अग्रया हन्
sa iddāsaṃ tuvīravaṃ patirdanṣaḷakṣaṃ triśīrṣāṇaṃ damanyat asya trito nvojasā vṛdhāno vipā varāhamayoagrayā han
This heroic lord, fierce in might, measured out thirty-three thousand spears. On his third day, with youthful vigour, the boar with his foremost snout struck down (the foe).

स द्रुह्व॑णे॒ मनु॑ष ऊर्ध्वसा॒न आ सा॑विषदर्शसा॒नाय॒ शरु॑म् । स नृत॑मो॒ नहु॑षो॒ऽस्मत्सुजा॑तः॒ पुरो॑ऽभिन॒दर्ह॑न्दस्यु॒हत्ये॑
sa druhvaṇe manuṣa ūrdhvasāna ā sāviṣadarśasānāya śarum sa nṛtamo nahuṣo'smatsujātaḥ puro'bhinadarhandasyuhatye
He, in the assembly of conspirators, stood among men with uplifted spear, beginning the attack with spear-shafts. He, the dancer, the lord of moves, was born among us; he struck down foes in front of the town.

सो अ॒भ्रियो॒ न यव॑स उद॒न्यन्क्षया॑य गा॒तुं वि॒दन्नो॑ अ॒स्मे । उप॒ यत्सीद॒दिन्दुं॒ शरी॑रैः श्ये॒नोऽयो॑पाष्टिर्हन्ति॒ दस्यू॑न्
so abhriyo na yavasa udanyankṣayāya gātuṃ vidanno asme upa yatsīdadinduṃ śarīraiḥ śyeno'yopāṣṭirhanti dasyūn
He who kept the sky-like rivers from wasting the seed-crops, who caused the falcon to strike down the foes with his body and claws,—may he slay our foes.

स व्राध॑तः शवसा॒नेभि॑रस्य॒ कुत्सा॑य॒ शुष्णं॑ कृ॒पणे॒ परा॑दात् । अ॒यं क॒विम॑नयच्छ॒स्यमा॑न॒मत्कं॒ यो अ॑स्य॒ सनि॑तो॒त नृ॒णाम्
sa vrādhataḥ śavasānebhirasya kutsāya śuṣṇaṃ kṛpaṇe parādāt ayaṃ kavimanayacchasyamānamatkaṃ yo asya sanitota nṛṇām
He, vigorous with the strength of sacrificial oblations, struck with reproach and fierce force, giving the ruthless blow. This one calls the seer to mind; he, joined with him, is set against men.

अ॒यं द॑श॒स्यन्नर्ये॑भिरस्य द॒स्मो दे॒वेभि॒र्वरु॑णो॒ न मा॒यी । अ॒यं क॒नीन॑ ऋतु॒पा अ॑वे॒द्यमि॑मीता॒ररुं॒ यश्चतु॑ष्पात्
ayaṃ daśasyannaryebhirasya dasmo devebhirvaruṇo na māyī ayaṃ kanīna ṛtupā avedyamimītāraruṃ yaścatuṣpāt
This is the tenth of men and the tenfold of gods; Varuṇa does not deceive. This is the subtle season-bearing rivet that preserves the measure of cattle and four-footed creatures.

अ॒स्य स्तोमे॑भिरौशि॒ज ऋ॒जिश्वा॑ व्र॒जं द॑रयद्वृष॒भेण॒ पिप्रोः॑ । सुत्वा॒ यद्य॑ज॒तो दी॒दय॒द्गीः पुर॑ इया॒नो अ॒भि वर्प॑सा॒ भूत्
asya stomebhirauśija ṛjiśvā vrajaṃ darayadvṛṣabheṇa piproḥ sutvā yadyajato dīdayadgīḥ pura iyāno abhi varpasā bhūt
By his hymns he cleaved the field with the powerful bull, opening the pasture. When the sire was born, the potent offering shone forth; he brought beings into being by libations.

ए॒वा म॒हो अ॑सुर व॒क्षथा॑य वम्र॒कः प॒ड्भिरुप॑ सर्प॒दिन्द्र॑म् । स इ॑या॒नः क॑रति स्व॒स्तिम॑स्मा॒ इष॒मूर्जं॑ सुक्षि॒तिं विश्व॒माभाः॑
evā maho asura vakṣathāya vamrakaḥ paḍbhirupa sarpadindram sa iyānaḥ karati svastimasmā iṣamūrjaṃ sukṣitiṃ viśvamābhāḥ
Thus the great Asura, protector of mouths, with his snout opposed Indra the serpent. He made this chariot for us, bestowing well-being, wide fame and universal splendour.
