अस्ते॑व॒ सु प्र॑त॒रं लाय॒मस्य॒न्भूष॑न्निव॒ प्र भ॑रा॒ स्तोम॑मस्मै । वा॒चा वि॑प्रास्तरत॒ वाच॑म॒र्यो नि रा॑मय जरितः॒ सोम॒ इन्द्र॑म्
asteva su prataraṃ lāyamasyanbhūṣanniva pra bharā stomamasmai vācā viprāstarata vācamaryo ni rāmaya jaritaḥ soma indram
Already this morning I arrange the ornamented hymn, bearing it as a burden. The wise speak the word; the fervent one offers soma and Indra.

दोहे॑न॒ गामुप॑ शिक्षा॒ सखा॑यं॒ प्र बो॑धय जरितर्जा॒रमिन्द्र॑म् । कोशं॒ न पू॒र्णं वसु॑ना॒ न्यृ॑ष्ट॒मा च्या॑वय मघ॒देया॑य॒ शूर॑म्
dohena gāmupa śikṣā sakhāyaṃ pra bodhaya jaritarjāramindram kośaṃ na pūrṇaṃ vasunā nyṛṣṭamā cyāvaya maghadeyāya śūram
With a couplet rouse the cattle, instruct the friend — make known, O fervent one, the praise of Indra who shoulders the old man. The treasure is not full by wealth; the generous, famed hero is the giver.

किम॒ङ्ग त्वा॑ मघवन्भो॒जमा॑हुः शिशी॒हि मा॑ शिश॒यं त्वा॑ शृणोमि । अप्न॑स्वती॒ मम॒ धीर॑स्तु शक्र वसु॒विदं॒ भग॑मि॒न्द्रा भ॑रा नः
kimaṅga tvā maghavanbhojamāhuḥ śiśīhi mā śiśayaṃ tvā śaṛṇomi apnasvatī mama dhīrastu śakra vasuvidaṃ bhagamindrā bharā naḥ
Why do the wealthy call you noble? I hear your praises; do not touch me with scorn. May Shakra bestow upon me resolute thoughts; Indra, lord of wealth, bear us to prosperity.

त्वां जना॑ ममस॒त्येष्वि॑न्द्र संतस्था॒ना वि ह्व॑यन्ते समी॒के । अत्रा॒ युजं॑ कृणुते॒ यो ह॒विष्मा॒न्नासु॑न्वता स॒ख्यं व॑ष्टि॒ शूरः॑
tvāṃ janā mamasatyeṣvindra saṃtasthānā vi hvayante samīke atrā yujaṃ kṛṇute yo haviṣmānnāsunvatā sakhyaṃ vaṣṭi śūraḥ
You, O people, stand firm among my true ones; the places settled are invoked nearby. Here one who makes the sacred drink, who sets forth the oblation, gains friendship and the warrior’s favour.

धनं॒ न स्य॒न्द्रं ब॑हु॒लं यो अ॑स्मै ती॒व्रान्सोमा॑ँ आसु॒नोति॒ प्रय॑स्वान् । तस्मै॒ शत्रू॑न्सु॒तुका॑न्प्रा॒तरह्नो॒ नि स्वष्ट्रा॑न्यु॒वति॒ हन्ति॑ वृ॒त्रम्
dhanaṃ na syandraṃ bahulaṃ yo asmai tīvrānsomām̐ āsunoti prayasvān tasmai śatrūnsutukānprātarahno ni svaṣṭrānyuvati hanti vṛtram
Wealth is not Indra; he who brings intense soma upon us grants much. For him may foes and hostile bands be repelled — in the morning his swift dogs slay the Vrtra.

यस्मि॑न्व॒यं द॑धि॒मा शंस॒मिन्द्रे॒ यः शि॒श्राय॑ म॒घवा॒ काम॑म॒स्मे । आ॒राच्चि॒त्सन्भ॑यतामस्य॒ शत्रु॒र्न्य॑स्मै द्यु॒म्ना जन्या॑ नमन्ताम्
yasminvayaṃ dadhimā śaṃsamindre yaḥ śiśrāya maghavā kāmamasme ārāccitsanbhayatāmasya śatrurnyasmai dyumnā janyā namantām
In whom we place our praise to Indra — he who accepts these gifts and who delights my wish. May his enemies be terrified; may the heavens and realms bow to him who is invoked.

आ॒राच्छत्रु॒मप॑ बाधस्व दू॒रमु॒ग्रो यः शम्बः॑ पुरुहूत॒ तेन॑ । अ॒स्मे धे॑हि॒ यव॑म॒द्गोम॑दिन्द्र कृ॒धी धियं॑ जरि॒त्रे वाज॑रत्नाम्
ārācchatrumapa bādhasva dūramugro yaḥ śambaḥ puruhūta tena asme dhehi yavamadgomadindra kṛdhī dhiyaṃ jaritre vājaratnām
Strike down the enemy, ward off harm at a distance; he who is invoked before the assembly, grant us strength. Bestow upon me barley, cattle and deepened riches, O Indra, bring forth intellect and winning fame for the glorious jewels.

प्र यम॒न्तर्वृ॑षस॒वासो॒ अग्म॑न्ती॒व्राः सोमा॑ बहु॒लान्ता॑स॒ इन्द्र॑म् । नाह॑ दा॒मानं॑ म॒घवा॒ नि यं॑स॒न्नि सु॑न्व॒ते व॑हति॒ भूरि॑ वा॒मम्
pra yamantarvṛṣasavāso agmantīvrāḥ somā bahulāntāsa indram nāha dāmānaṃ maghavā ni yaṃsanni sunvate vahati bhūri vāmam
They come hurrying as if bulls, swift and numerous, the Soma drinkers abundant for Indra. He does not give the treasure to one who is niggardly; he bestows great bounty upon him who summons him.

उ॒त प्र॒हाम॑ति॒दीव्या॑ जयाति कृ॒तं यच्छ्व॒घ्नी वि॑चि॒नोति॑ का॒ले । यो दे॒वका॑मो॒ न धना॑ रुणद्धि॒ समित्तं रा॒या सृ॑जति स्व॒धावा॑न्
uta prahāmatidīvyā jayāti kṛtaṃ yacchvaghnī vicinoti kāle yo devakāmo na dhanā ruṇaddhi samittaṃ rāyā sṛjati svadhāvān
He strikes forth like a radiant flame, victorious at the appointed time; he who desires the gods does not create wealth with a weak voice, he establishes the ruled realm with steadfast rite.

गोभि॑ष्टरे॒माम॑तिं दु॒रेवां॒ यवे॑न॒ क्षुधं॑ पुरुहूत॒ विश्वा॑म् । व॒यं राज॑भिः प्रथ॒मा धना॑न्य॒स्माके॑न वृ॒जने॑ना जयेम
gobhiṣṭaremāmatiṃ durevāṃ yavena kṣudhaṃ puruhūta viśvām vayaṃ rājabhiḥ prathamā dhanānyasmākena vṛjanenā jayema
Bring to the cow-pleasers the delighting portion from afar, grain and the food of the sacrificer for all. May we, foremost among kings, with fitting wealth and booty prevail in battle.

बृह॒स्पति॑र्नः॒ परि॑ पातु प॒श्चादु॒तोत्त॑रस्मा॒दध॑रादघा॒योः । इन्द्रः॑ पु॒रस्ता॑दु॒त म॑ध्य॒तो नः॒ सखा॒ सखि॑भ्यो॒ वरि॑वः कृणोतु
bṛhaspatirnaḥ pari pātu paścādutottarasmādadharādaghāyoḥ indraḥ purastāduta madhyato naḥ sakhā sakhibhyo varivaḥ kṛṇotu
Brihaspati protect us around — from behind, from above, from below, from front; Indra be our guardian in front and midst; be bountiful to our friends and allies.
