tvāṃ janā mamasatyeṣvindra saṃtasthānā vi hvayante samīke atrā yujaṃ kṛṇute yo haviṣmānnāsunvatā sakhyaṃ vaṣṭi śūraḥ
You, O people, stand firm among my true ones; the places settled are invoked nearby. Here one who makes the sacred drink, who sets forth the oblation, gains friendship and the warrior’s favour.
The people earnestly call upon you in battles, Indra, (they call upon you) when standing together inthe conflict; at this (call) Indra makes him his friend who offers oblations; the hero desires not friendship with himwho presents no libation.
Standing, in battle for their rights, together, the people, Indra, in the fray invoke thee. Him who brings gifts the Hero makes his comrade: with him who pours no juice he seeks not friendship.
