Make bright for us, O Shukra, the radiant one, the offering, the thought and the pure Agni. He who makes divine the mortal and the human wombs, through knowledge we have become wide‑striving and victorious.

Agni, be thou the youthful sap whose seed was sown from which the matured stalk of grain sprang, mother of growth. Unite with the woodland, O pure one; may the plentiful fuel straightway be thine.

This seer among seers, the knower, the prescient Agni, dispenser of immortality for mortals, place this in our minds; may we who make offerings together always become of good mind.

Agni is lord of the immortal’s wealth; the king is ruler of heroic gifts. Grant that we, brave among thousands, may not be lacking; bestow upon us glory and strength and make us to abound.
