स्तु॒षे नरा॑ दि॒वो अ॒स्य प्र॒सन्ता॒श्विना॑ हुवे॒ जर॑माणो अ॒र्कैः । या स॒द्य उ॒स्रा व्युषि॒ ज्मो अन्ता॒न्युयू॑षतः॒ पर्यु॒रू वरां॑सि
stuṣe narā divo asya prasantāśvinā huve jaramāṇo arkaiḥ yā sadya usrā vyuṣi jmo antānyuyūṣataḥ paryurū varāṃsi
Men praised at the sky’s edge the bright Ashvins, invoking them with the rays: she who at once brings the dawn, pouring life-breaths, surrounded the precious bounty.

ता य॒ज्ञमा शुचि॑भिश्चक्रमा॒णा रथ॑स्य भा॒नुं रु॑रुचू॒ रजो॑भिः । पु॒रू वरां॒स्यमि॑ता॒ मिमा॑ना॒पो धन्वा॒न्यति॑ याथो॒ अज्रा॑न्
tā yajñamā śucibhiścakramāṇā rathasya bhānuṃ rurucū rajobhiḥ purū varāṃsyamitā mimānāpo dhanvānyati yātho ajrān
They, pure in sacrifice, harnessed the radiant chariot of the steed with its beams; the swift chariot advanced like waters, the archer sped forth as one who knows no weariness.

ता ह॒ त्यद्व॒र्तिर्यदर॑ध्रमुग्रे॒त्था धिय॑ ऊहथुः॒ शश्व॒दश्वैः॑ । मनो॑जवेभिरिषि॒रैः श॒यध्यै॒ परि॒ व्यथि॑र्दा॒शुषो॒ मर्त्य॑स्य
tā ha tyadvartiryadaradhramugretthā dhiya ūhathuḥ śaśvadaśvaiḥ manojavebhiriṣiraiḥ śayadhyai pari vyathirdāśuṣo martyasya
They, with swift thoughts, devised the turning of the course; they invoked with quick-minded steeds the mighty ones, and with spirited drives they dispelled the mortal’s darkness.

ता नव्य॑सो॒ जर॑माणस्य॒ मन्मोप॑ भूषतो युयुजा॒नस॑प्ती । शुभं॒ पृक्ष॒मिष॒मूर्जं॒ वह॑न्ता॒ होता॑ यक्षत्प्र॒त्नो अ॒ध्रुग्युवा॑ना
tā navyaso jaramāṇasya manmopa bhūṣato yuyujānasaptī śubhaṃ pṛkṣamiṣamūrjaṃ vahantā hotā yakṣatpratno adhrugyuvānā
They renewed the youthful vigor of the aging, adorning the mind and strengthening the sevenfold people; bearing auspicious bounty, the priests carried out the rite, striving as young men.

ता व॒ल्गू द॒स्रा पु॑रु॒शाक॑तमा प्र॒त्ना नव्य॑सा॒ वच॒सा वि॑वासे । या शंस॑ते स्तुव॒ते शम्भ॑विष्ठा बभू॒वतु॑र्गृण॒ते चि॒त्ररा॑ती
tā valgū dasrā puruśākatamā pratnā navyasā vacasā vivāse yā śaṃsate stuvate śambhaviṣṭhā babhūvaturgṛṇate citrarātī
They, swift in speech, praised and extolled; may what is praised be auspicious, may praise be firmly established and may wondrous delight be heard.

ता भु॒ज्युं विभि॑र॒द्भ्यः स॑मु॒द्रात्तुग्र॑स्य सू॒नुमू॑हथू॒ रजो॑भिः । अ॒रे॒णुभि॒र्योज॑नेभिर्भु॒जन्ता॑ पत॒त्रिभि॒रर्ण॑सो॒ निरु॒पस्था॑त्
tā bhujyuṃ vibhiradbhyaḥ samudrāttugrasya sūnumūhathū rajobhiḥ areṇubhiryojanebhirbhujantā patatribhirarṇaso nirupasthāt
They seized their portions from the sea with strong arms, drew the brilliant prizes by the beams; with gifts and offerings they set forth, bearing leaves and branches from the banks.

वि ज॒युषा॑ रथ्या यात॒मद्रिं॑ श्रु॒तं हवं॑ वृषणा वध्रिम॒त्याः । द॒श॒स्यन्ता॑ श॒यवे॑ पिप्यथु॒र्गामिति॑ च्यवाना सुम॒तिं भु॑रण्यू
vi jayuṣā rathyā yātamadriṃ śrutaṃ havaṃ vṛṣaṇā vadhrimatyāḥ daśasyantā śayave pipyathurgāmiti cyavānā sumatiṃ bhuraṇyū
May the chariot go forward with victory; may it carry the mountain heard in the hymn; may the strong bulls of sacrifice bear it, like those who drink the waters at night—may the aspirants, endowed with good counsel, fill it.

यद्रो॑दसी प्र॒दिवो॒ अस्ति॒ भूमा॒ हेळो॑ दे॒वाना॑मु॒त म॑र्त्य॒त्रा । तदा॑दित्या वसवो रुद्रियासो रक्षो॒युजे॒ तपु॑र॒घं द॑धात
yadrodasī pradivo asti bhūmā heḷo devānāmuta martyatrā tadādityā vasavo rudriyāso rakṣoyuje tapuraghaṃ dadhāta
When the dawn and heaven are broad, O earth, may the gods be generous and the mortal realm steadfast. Then the Ādityas, the Vasus, the Rudras, the Maruts put on protection, and set a realm of sanctity.

य ईं॒ राजा॑नावृतु॒था वि॒दध॒द्रज॑सो मि॒त्रो वरु॑ण॒श्चिके॑तत् । ग॒म्भी॒राय॒ रक्ष॑से हे॒तिम॑स्य॒ द्रोघा॑य चि॒द्वच॑स॒ आन॑वाय
ya īṃ rājānāvṛtuthā vidadhadrajaso mitro varuṇaściketat gambhīrāya rakṣase hetimasya droghāya cidvacasa ānavāya
He who, O king, upheld the force and spread forth splendour—Mitra and Varuṇa adorned his banner. For the powerful one you guarded, they set his fame deep; for his adversaries they cast away deceit, and brought forth true speech.

अन्त॑रैश्च॒क्रैस्तन॑याय व॒र्तिर्द्यु॒मता या॑तं नृ॒वता॒ रथे॑न । सनु॑त्येन॒ त्यज॑सा॒ मर्त्य॑स्य वनुष्य॒तामपि॑ शी॒र्षा व॑वृक्तम्
antaraiścakraistanayāya vartirdyumatā yātaṃ nṛvatā rathena sanutyena tyajasā martyasya vanuṣyatāmapi śīrṣā vavṛktam
With inner wheels the swift chariot for the son turned; the moving might reached by men like a chariot. By true hearing and heroic abandonment was mortal strength bound and its top made firm.

आ प॑र॒माभि॑रु॒त म॑ध्य॒माभि॑र्नि॒युद्भि॑र्यातमव॒माभि॑र॒र्वाक् । दृ॒ळ्हस्य॑ चि॒द्गोम॑तो॒ वि व्र॒जस्य॒ दुरो॑ वर्तं गृण॒ते चि॑त्रराती
ā paramābhiruta madhyamābhirniyudbhiryātamavamābhirarvāk dṛḷhasya cidgomato vi vrajasya duro vartaṃ gṛṇate citrarātī
They uttered words from the outermost, from the highest and middle regions; they spoke forth. The strong cow of vision went forth from the herd; the manifold praises declared the hard course and the wondrous night.
