अद॑र्द॒रुत्स॒मसृ॑जो॒ वि खानि॒ त्वम॑र्ण॒वान्ब॑द्बधा॒नाँ अ॑रम्णाः । म॒हान्त॑मिन्द्र॒ पर्व॑तं॒ वि यद्वः सृ॒जो वि धारा॒ अव॑ दान॒वं ह॑न्
adardarutsamasṛjo vi khāni tvamarṇavānbadbadhānām̐ aramṇāḥ mahāntamindra parvataṃ vi yadvaḥ sṛjo vi dhārā ava dānavaṃ han
You, who fashioned streams and bound the oceans, placed the great mountain Indra where you created it; you cast down the hostile demon whose force had harmed you.

त्वमुत्सा॑ँ ऋ॒तुभि॑र्बद्बधा॒नाँ अरं॑ह॒ ऊधः॒ पर्व॑तस्य वज्रिन् । अहिं॑ चिदुग्र॒ प्रयु॑तं॒ शया॑नं जघ॒न्वाँ इ॑न्द्र॒ तवि॑षीमधत्थाः
tvamutsām̐ ṛtubhirbadbadhānām̐ araṃha ūdhaḥ parvatasya vajrin ahiṃ cidugra prayutaṃ śayānaṃ jaghanvām̐ indra taviṣīmadhatthāḥ
You raised up from the seasons and bound the hostile waters beneath the mountain with thunderbolt. Indra, fierce in battle, struck the sleeping foe and laid low their might.

त्यस्य॑ चिन्मह॒तो निर्मृ॒गस्य॒ वध॑र्जघान॒ तवि॑षीभि॒रिन्द्रः॑ । य एक॒ इद॑प्र॒तिर्मन्य॑मान॒ आद॑स्माद॒न्यो अ॑जनिष्ट॒ तव्या॑न्
tyasya cinmahato nirmṛgasya vadharjaghāna taviṣībhirindraḥ ya eka idapratirmanyamāna ādasmādanyo ajaniṣṭa tavyān
From the slaughter of that mighty beast Indra cut down with his fierce weapons; he thought one thing and another different thing came to be — hostile to you he acted.

त्यं चि॑देषां स्व॒धया॒ मद॑न्तं मि॒हो नपा॑तं सु॒वृधं॑ तमो॒गाम् । वृष॑प्रभर्मा दान॒वस्य॒ भामं॒ वज्रे॑ण व॒ज्री नि ज॑घान॒ शुष्ण॑म्
tyaṃ cideṣāṃ svadhayā madantaṃ miho napātaṃ suvṛdhaṃ tamogām vṛṣaprabharmā dānavasya bhāmaṃ vajreṇa vajrī ni jaghāna śuṣṇam
By their own offerings they honored him, exalting the falling one with abundant light. The bull-like lord of the Danavas struck him with the thunderbolt and scorched him sorely.

त्यं चि॑दस्य॒ क्रतु॑भि॒र्निष॑त्तमम॒र्मणो॑ वि॒ददिद॑स्य॒ मर्म॑ । यदीं॑ सुक्षत्र॒ प्रभृ॑ता॒ मद॑स्य॒ युयु॑त्सन्तं॒ तम॑सि ह॒र्म्ये धाः
tyaṃ cidasya kratubhirniṣattamamarmaṇo vidadidasya marma yadīṃ sukṣatra prabhṛtā madasya yuyutsantaṃ tamasi harmye dhāḥ
By his mighty rites they cut through that secret place of the heart; if the strong-armed one opposes the man who contends, he will be driven into darkness in battle.

त्यं चि॑दि॒त्था क॑त्प॒यं शया॑नमसू॒र्ये तम॑सि वावृधा॒नम् । तं चि॑न्मन्दा॒नो वृ॑ष॒भः सु॒तस्यो॒च्चैरिन्द्रो॑ अप॒गूर्या॑ जघान
tyaṃ ciditthā katpayaṃ śayānamasūrye tamasi vāvṛdhānam taṃ cinmandāno vṛṣabhaḥ sutasyoccairindro apagūryā jaghāna
By this your fashioned form lay concealed like the sleeping sun; in that darkness the bull, the mighty one of the host, struck and cut him down — Indra, rising with strength, smote him with loud cry.

उद्यदिन्द्रो॑ मह॒ते दा॑न॒वाय॒ वध॒र्यमि॑ष्ट॒ सहो॒ अप्र॑तीतम् । यदीं॒ वज्र॑स्य॒ प्रभृ॑तौ द॒दाभ॒ विश्व॑स्य ज॒न्तोर॑ध॒मं च॑कार
udyadindro mahate dānavāya vadharyamiṣṭa saho apratītam yadīṃ vajrasya prabhṛtau dadābha viśvasya jantoradhamaṃ cakāra
Indra rose at dawn to slay the mighty Danava, undertaking the unseen deed. If, through the power of the thunderbolt, he gave riches, he made the lowly creatures of the world subdued.

त्यं चि॒दर्णं॑ मधु॒पं शया॑नमसि॒न्वं व॒व्रं मह्याद॑दु॒ग्रः । अ॒पाद॑म॒त्रं म॑ह॒ता व॒धेन॒ नि दु॑र्यो॒ण आ॑वृणङ्मृ॒ध्रवा॑चम्
tyaṃ cidarṇaṃ madhupaṃ śayānamasinvaṃ vavraṃ mahyādadugraḥ apādamatraṃ mahatā vadhena ni duryoṇa āvṛṇaṅmṛdhravācam
That one struck down the honeyed wave, the hostile seat; he made the mighty wound evident. With strong slaughter he closed off the floods and covered the fierce utterance.

को अ॑स्य॒ शुष्मं॒ तवि॑षीं वरात॒ एको॒ धना॑ भरते॒ अप्र॑तीतः । इ॒मे चि॑दस्य॒ ज्रय॑सो॒ नु दे॒वी इन्द्र॒स्यौज॑सो भि॒यसा॑ जिहाते
ko asya śuṣmaṃ taviṣīṃ varāta eko dhanā bharate apratītaḥ ime cidasya jrayaso nu devī indrasyaujaso bhiyasā jihāte
Who bears his dry strength? One rich man fills it, unexpected. These, of this man’s clamor, O goddesses, Indra cast aside with fearsome might.

न्य॑स्मै दे॒वी स्वधि॑तिर्जिहीत॒ इन्द्रा॑य गा॒तुरु॑श॒तीव॑ येमे । सं यदोजो॑ यु॒वते॒ विश्व॑माभि॒रनु॑ स्व॒धाव्ने॑ क्षि॒तयो॑ नमन्त
nyasmai devī svadhitirjihīta indrāya gāturuśatīva yeme saṃ yadojo yuvate viśvamābhiranu svadhāvne kṣitayo namanta
Goddess, the offerings were sacrificed for Indra; whoever is very swift in nourishment and prays — may the youthful vigor of strength go with the whole world; the realms bow down.

एकं॒ नु त्वा॒ सत्प॑तिं॒ पाञ्च॑जन्यं जा॒तं शृ॑णोमि य॒शसं॒ जने॑षु । तं मे॑ जगृभ्र आ॒शसो॒ नवि॑ष्ठं दो॒षा वस्तो॒र्हव॑मानास॒ इन्द्र॑म्
ekaṃ nu tvā satpatiṃ pāñcajanyaṃ jātaṃ śaṛṇomi yaśasaṃ janeṣu taṃ me jagṛbhra āśaso naviṣṭhaṃ doṣā vastorhavamānāsa indram
Grant me one true lord, the Pañcajanya born — I hear his fame among men. May he awaken my blessing, newly established; let the faultless dwelling offer Indra the oblation.

ए॒वा हि त्वामृ॑तु॒था या॒तय॑न्तं म॒घा विप्रे॑भ्यो॒ दद॑तं शृ॒णोमि॑ । किं ते॑ ब्र॒ह्माणो॑ गृहते॒ सखा॑यो॒ ये त्वा॒या नि॑द॒धुः काम॑मिन्द्र
evā hi tvāmṛtuthā yātayantaṃ maghā viprebhyo dadataṃ śaṛṇomi kiṃ te brahmāṇo gṛhate sakhāyo ye tvāyā nidadhuḥ kāmamindra
Indeed I have heard of your deaths and of those who bestowed gifts to the priests. What do the high gods gain, friends, who set you forth desiring Indra?
