त्यं चि॑दस्य॒ क्रतु॑भि॒र्निष॑त्तमम॒र्मणो॑ वि॒ददिद॑स्य॒ मर्म॑ । यदीं॑ सुक्षत्र॒ प्रभृ॑ता॒ मद॑स्य॒ युयु॑त्सन्तं॒ तम॑सि ह॒र्म्ये धाः
tyaṃ cidasya kratubhirniṣattamamarmaṇo vidadidasya marma yadīṃ sukṣatra prabhṛtā madasya yuyutsantaṃ tamasi harmye dhāḥ
By his mighty rites they cut through that secret place of the heart; if the strong-armed one opposes the man who contends, he will be driven into darkness in battle.
You have discovered, Indra, by his acts, the secret vital part of him who thought himself invulnerable, when, powerful Indra, in the exhilaration of the Soma, they have detected him preparing for combat in his dark abode.
Though he might ne'er be wounded still his vitals felt that, the God's bolt, which his powers supported, When, after offered draughts, Strong Lord, thou laidest him, fain to battle, in the pit in darkness.
