त्र्य॑र्य॒मा मनु॑षो दे॒वता॑ता॒ त्री रो॑च॒ना दि॒व्या धा॑रयन्त । अर्च॑न्ति त्वा म॒रुतः॑ पू॒तद॑क्षा॒स्त्वमे॑षा॒मृषि॑रिन्द्रासि॒ धीरः॑
tryaryamā manuṣo devatātā trī rocanā divyā dhārayanta arcanti tvā marutaḥ pūtadakṣāstvameṣāmṛṣirindrāsi dhīraḥ
Threefold are the mortal hosts, the divine ones threefold; the radiant ones hold the heavens. The Maruts worship thee, pure and skillful; thou art their seer, O valiant Indra.

अनु॒ यदीं॑ म॒रुतो॑ मन्दसा॒नमार्च॒न्निन्द्रं॑ पपि॒वांसं॑ सु॒तस्य॑ । आद॑त्त॒ वज्र॑म॒भि यदहिं॒ हन्न॒पो य॒ह्वीर॑सृज॒त्सर्त॒वा उ॑
anu yadīṃ maruto mandasānamārcannindraṃ papivāṃsaṃ sutasya ādatta vajramabhi yadahiṃ hannapo yahvīrasṛjatsartavā u
If the Maruts sing slowly, they revere Indra with hymn and oblation of the noble; they took up the thunderbolt when the slayer struck, the giver of heroes was born.

उ॒त ब्र॑ह्माणो मरुतो मे अ॒स्येन्द्रः॒ सोम॑स्य॒ सुषु॑तस्य पेयाः । तद्धि ह॒व्यं मनु॑षे॒ गा अवि॑न्द॒दह॒न्नहिं॑ पपि॒वाँ इन्द्रो॑ अस्य
uta brahmāṇo maruto me asyendraḥ somasya suṣutasya peyāḥ taddhi havyaṃ manuṣe gā avindadahannahiṃ papivām̐ indro asya
May the Maruts, Brahma, Indra and Soma, the drinker who sank in sleep, give me this; may Indra, who drank it all day, grant this oblation to the man.

आद्रोद॑सी वित॒रं वि ष्क॑भायत्संविव्या॒नश्चि॑द्भि॒यसे॑ मृ॒गं कः॑ । जिग॑र्ति॒मिन्द्रो॑ अप॒जर्गु॑राणः॒ प्रति॑ श्व॒सन्त॒मव॑ दान॒वं ह॑न्
ādrodasī vitaraṃ vi ṣkabhāyatsaṃvivyānaścidbhiyase mṛgaṃ kaḥ jigartimindro apajargurāṇaḥ prati śvasantamava dānavaṃ han
He roused like a tempest, scattering fear and stirring forth the wild beast; Indra, raging like a great weight, slew the hostile foe who breathed fiercely.

अध॒ क्रत्वा॑ मघव॒न्तुभ्यं॑ दे॒वा अनु॒ विश्वे॑ अददुः सोम॒पेय॑म् । यत्सूर्य॑स्य ह॒रितः॒ पत॑न्तीः पु॒रः स॒तीरुप॑रा॒ एत॑शे॒ कः
adha kratvā maghavantubhyaṃ devā anu viśve adaduḥ somapeyam yatsūryasya haritaḥ patantīḥ puraḥ satīruparā etaśe kaḥ
Having invoked the mighty performers, the gods offered Soma-drink for all the people; those falling before the sun, those forward and those behind—who are these?

नव॒ यद॑स्य नव॒तिं च॑ भो॒गान्सा॒कं वज्रे॑ण म॒घवा॑ विवृ॒श्चत् । अर्च॒न्तीन्द्रं॑ म॒रुतः॑ स॒धस्थे॒ त्रैष्टु॑भेन॒ वच॑सा बाधत॒ द्याम्
nava yadasya navatiṃ ca bhogānsākaṃ vajreṇa maghavā vivṛścat arcantīndraṃ marutaḥ sadhasthe traiṣṭubhena vacasā bādhata dyām
Nine and his ninety pleasures the mighty ones opened with the thunderbolt; the Marut, praising Indra in the Trishtubh metre, struck the sky with speech.

सखा॒ सख्ये॑ अपच॒त्तूय॑म॒ग्निर॒स्य क्रत्वा॑ महि॒षा त्री श॒तानि॑ । त्री सा॒कमिन्द्रो॒ मनु॑षः॒ सरां॑सि सु॒तं पि॑बद्वृत्र॒हत्या॑य॒ सोम॑म्
sakhā sakhye apacattūyamagnirasya kratvā mahiṣā trī śatāni trī sākamindro manuṣaḥ sarāṃsi sutaṃ pibadvṛtrahatyāya somam
Friendship failed the friend; Agni offered as a sacrifice three hundred cows; Indra made threefold alliance with men—drink the Soma, destroyer of Vritra, and press it forth.

त्री यच्छ॒ता म॑हि॒षाणा॒मघो॒ मास्त्री सरां॑सि म॒घवा॑ सो॒म्यापाः॑ । का॒रं न विश्वे॑ अह्वन्त दे॒वा भर॒मिन्द्रा॑य॒ यदहिं॑ ज॒घान॑
trī yacchatā mahiṣāṇāmagho māstrī sarāṃsi maghavā somyāpāḥ kāraṃ na viśve ahvanta devā bharamindrāya yadahiṃ jaghāna
Three times the heifers of the mighty were yoked; threefold the pleasant streams flowed. Why do all the gods call upon Indra where he slew?

uśanā yatsahasyai3rayātaṃ gṛhamindra jūjuvānebhiraśvaiḥ vanvāno atra sarathaṃ yayātha kutsena devairavanorha śuṣṇam
He, mighty and youthful, entered houses with horses; wandering people here drove a charioteer—by what fault did the gods make the roads dry?

प्रान्यच्च॒क्रम॑वृहः॒ सूर्य॑स्य॒ कुत्सा॑या॒न्यद्वरि॑वो॒ यात॑वेऽकः । अ॒नासो॒ दस्यू॑ँरमृणो व॒धेन॒ नि दु॑र्यो॒ण आ॑वृणङ्मृ॒ध्रवा॑चः
prānyaccakramavṛhaḥ sūryasya kutsāyānyadvarivo yātave'kaḥ anāso dasyūm̐ramṛṇo vadhena ni duryoṇa āvṛṇaṅmṛdhravācaḥ
He opened the foremost course of life of the sun; another went like a river through the ford. Unerring in slaying the Dasyus, Duryodhana covered the field—he spoke with a gentle voice.

स्तोमा॑सस्त्वा॒ गौरि॑वीतेरवर्ध॒न्नर॑न्धयो वैदथि॒नाय॒ पिप्रु॑म् । आ त्वामृ॒जिश्वा॑ स॒ख्याय॑ चक्रे॒ पच॑न्प॒क्तीरपि॑बः॒ सोम॑मस्य
stomāsastvā gaurivīteravardhannarandhayo vaidathināya piprum ā tvāmṛjiśvā sakhyāya cakre pacanpaktīrapibaḥ somamasya
O Stoma, you grow bold in the praise of the fair one; the blind ones sought to drink for the seer Vaidathin. The steeds and friends prepared the savoury food and drank the Soma.

नव॑ग्वासः सु॒तसो॑मास॒ इन्द्रं॒ दश॑ग्वासो अ॒भ्य॑र्चन्त्य॒र्कैः । गव्यं॑ चिदू॒र्वम॑पि॒धान॑वन्तं॒ तं चि॒न्नरः॑ शशमा॒ना अप॑ व्रन्
navagvāsaḥ sutasomāsa indraṃ daśagvāso abhyarcantyarkaiḥ gavyaṃ cidūrvamapidhānavantaṃ taṃ cinnaraḥ śaśamānā apa vran
Nine-voiced Soma and ten-voiced Indra are worshipped with hymns. A cow, though hostile, like a wild beast, they struck down; those cattle men divided and bound.

क॒थो नु ते॒ परि॑ चराणि वि॒द्वान्वी॒र्या॑ मघव॒न्या च॒कर्थ॑ । या चो॒ नु नव्या॑ कृ॒णवः॑ शविष्ठ॒ प्रेदु॒ ता ते॑ वि॒दथे॑षु ब्रवाम
katho nu te pari carāṇi vidvānvīryā maghavanyā cakartha yā co nu navyā kṛṇavaḥ śaviṣṭha predu tā te vidatheṣu bravāma
How then, wise in prowess, did you encircle their pastures and make noble the mighty ones? And who among you fashioned new deeds, the best, that I declare in the assemblies?

ए॒ता विश्वा॑ चकृ॒वाँ इ॑न्द्र॒ भूर्यप॑रीतो ज॒नुषा॑ वी॒र्ये॑ण । या चि॒न्नु व॑ज्रिन्कृ॒णवो॑ दधृ॒ष्वान्न ते॑ व॒र्ता तवि॑ष्या अस्ति॒ तस्याः॑
etā viśvā cakṛvām̐ indra bhūryaparīto januṣā vīryeṇa yā cinnu vajrinkṛṇavo dadhṛṣvānna te vartā taviṣyā asti tasyāḥ
These you fashioned, O Indra, all the worlds around, with manly vigour surpassing the knee; and you made the thunderers who hold the bolt—your power is not absent from her realm.

इन्द्र॒ ब्रह्म॑ क्रि॒यमा॑णा जुषस्व॒ या ते॑ शविष्ठ॒ नव्या॒ अक॑र्म । वस्त्रे॑व भ॒द्रा सुकृ॑ता वसू॒यू रथं॒ न धीरः॒ स्वपा॑ अतक्षम्
indra brahma kriyamāṇā juṣasva yā te śaviṣṭha navyā akarma vastreva bhadrā sukṛtā vasūyū rathaṃ na dhīraḥ svapā atakṣam
Indra, performing the rite, be pleased with what new best deed you have done. Robes well-made and goodly wealth, O Dweller on the chariot, do not sleep till dawn.
