य॒ज्ञेन॑ वर्धत जा॒तवे॑दसम॒ग्निं य॑जध्वं ह॒विषा॒ तना॑ गि॒रा । स॒मि॒धा॒नं सु॑प्र॒यसं॒ स्व॑र्णरं द्यु॒क्षं होता॑रं वृ॒जने॑षु धू॒र्षद॑म्
yajñena vardhata jātavedasamagniṃ yajadhvaṃ haviṣā tanā girā samidhānaṃ suprayasaṃ svarṇaraṃ dyukṣaṃ hotāraṃ vṛjaneṣu dhūrṣadam
By sacrifice the once-born Agni grows; worship him with offerings and sweet praise. The oblation-bearing singer brings abundant glory, golden, luminous, the priest among the assembled.

अ॒भि त्वा॒ नक्ती॑रु॒षसो॑ ववाशि॒रेऽग्ने॑ व॒त्सं न स्वस॑रेषु धे॒नवः॑ । दि॒व इ॒वेद॑र॒तिर्मानु॑षा यु॒गा क्षपो॑ भासि पुरुवार सं॒यतः॑
abhi tvā naktīruṣaso vavāśire'gne vatsaṃ na svasareṣu dhenavaḥ diva ivedaratirmānuṣā yugā kṣapo bhāsi puruvāra saṃyataḥ
O Agni, you have stretched the night and dawn; the calves do not lie in their herds. As if celestial, men reach the furrows of day; the strong row of ages shines, gathered in former order.

तं दे॒वा बु॒ध्ने रज॑सः सु॒दंस॑सं दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्योर॑र॒तिं न्ये॑रिरे । रथ॑मिव॒ वेद्यं॑ शु॒क्रशो॑चिषम॒ग्निं मि॒त्रं न क्षि॒तिषु॑ प्र॒शंस्य॑म्
taṃ devā budhne rajasaḥ sudaṃsasaṃ divaspṛthivyoraratiṃ nyerire rathamiva vedyaṃ śukraśociṣamagniṃ mitraṃ na kṣitiṣu praśaṃsyam
The gods perceived that shining splendour of dust between heaven and earth and removed distress. Like a chariot to be known, bright Agni, praised by Mitra, I acclaim in the realms, worthy of praise among men.

तमु॒क्षमा॑णं॒ रज॑सि॒ स्व आ दमे॑ च॒न्द्रमि॑व सु॒रुचं॑ ह्वा॒र आ द॑धुः । पृश्न्याः॑ पत॒रं चि॒तय॑न्तम॒क्षभिः॑ पा॒थो न पा॒युं जन॑सी उ॒भे अनु॑
tamukṣamāṇaṃ rajasi sva ā dame candramiva surucaṃ hvāra ā dadhuḥ pṛśnyāḥ pataraṃ citayantamakṣabhiḥ pātho na pāyuṃ janasī ubhe anu
They, beholding that shining dust in the realm of splendour, greeted it as the moon bestows its glow. They thought on the broad paths and the regions, contemplating the courses; both peoples did not allow the way to be prevented.

स होता॒ विश्वं॒ परि॑ भूत्वध्व॒रं तमु॑ ह॒व्यैर्मनु॑ष ऋञ्जते गि॒रा । हि॒रि॒शि॒प्रो वृ॑धसा॒नासु॒ जर्भु॑र॒द्द्यौर्न स्तृभि॑श्चितय॒द्रोद॑सी॒ अनु॑
sa hotā viśvaṃ pari bhūtvadhvaraṃ tamu havyairmanuṣa ṛñjate girā hiriśipro vṛdhasānāsu jarbhuraddyaurna stṛbhiścitayadrodasī anu
He who is the oblation-bearer made the world complete; with offerings the man’s speech is purified. The strong ones, like growing kine, move at dawn; the sky and streams are aroused and the vans flow forth.

स नो॑ रे॒वत्स॑मिधा॒नः स्व॒स्तये॑ संदद॒स्वान्र॒यिम॒स्मासु॑ दीदिहि । आ नः॑ कृणुष्व सुवि॒ताय॒ रोद॑सी॒ अग्ने॑ ह॒व्या मनु॑षो देव वी॒तये॑
sa no revatsamidhānaḥ svastaye saṃdadasvānrayimasmāsu dīdihi ā naḥ kṛṇuṣva suvitāya rodasī agne havyā manuṣo deva vītaye
May he bestow upon us, O Agni, kindling and fuel for welfare; give us strength, O radiant one. Make auspicious the offerings, O god, for humans and gods; grant us prosperity and courageous deeds.

दा नो॑ अग्ने बृह॒तो दाः स॑ह॒स्रिणो॑ दु॒रो न वाजं॒ श्रुत्या॒ अपा॑ वृधि । प्राची॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी ब्रह्म॑णा कृधि॒ स्व१॒॑र्ण शु॒क्रमु॒षसो॒ वि दि॑द्युतः
dā no agne bṛhato dāḥ sahasriṇo duro na vājaṃ śrutyā apā vṛdhi prācī dyāvāpṛthivī brahmaṇā kṛdhi sva1rṇa śukramuṣaso vi didyutaḥ
Give, O Agni, great gifts — thousands in number — not afar from praise; increase the wealth heard of in the east, the radiant heaven and earth. With creative power make bright the golden splendour that shines like lightning.

स इ॑धा॒न उ॒षसो॒ राम्या॒ अनु॒ स्व१॒॑र्ण दी॑देदरु॒षेण॑ भा॒नुना॑ । होत्रा॑भिर॒ग्निर्मनु॑षः स्वध्व॒रो राजा॑ वि॒शामति॑थि॒श्चारु॑रा॒यवे॑
sa idhāna uṣaso rāmyā anu sva1rṇa dīdedaruṣeṇa bhānunā hotrābhiragnirmanuṣaḥ svadhvaro rājā viśāmatithiścārurāyave
Thus, O Agni, in the radiant dawn you furnished pleasing splendour with golden light. The priest-bearing man, ruler of offerings, glorifies the king; the beautiful assembly rejoices in the brave ones.

ए॒वा नो॑ अग्ने अ॒मृते॑षु पूर्व्य॒ धीष्पी॑पाय बृ॒हद्दि॑वेषु॒ मानु॑षा । दुहा॑ना धे॒नुर्वृ॒जने॑षु का॒रवे॒ त्मना॑ श॒तिनं॑ पुरु॒रूप॑मि॒षणि॑
evā no agne amṛteṣu pūrvya dhīṣpīpāya bṛhaddiveṣu mānuṣā duhānā dhenurvṛjaneṣu kārave tmanā śatinaṃ pururūpamiṣaṇi
O Agni, in earlier immortal times you nourished human wisdom and spacious thought. The milker of kine in the herds works with mind and forms a multitude of hundredfold shapes of men and hosts.

व॒यम॑ग्ने॒ अर्व॑ता वा सु॒वीर्यं॒ ब्रह्म॑णा वा चितयेमा॒ जना॒ँ अति॑ । अ॒स्माकं॑ द्यु॒म्नमधि॒ पञ्च॑ कृ॒ष्टिषू॒च्चा स्व१॒॑र्ण शु॑शुचीत दु॒ष्टर॑म्
vayamagne arvatā vā suvīryaṃ brahmaṇā vā citayemā janām̐ ati asmākaṃ dyumnamadhi pañca kṛṣṭiṣūccā sva1rṇa śuśucīta duṣṭaram
We, O Agni, whether by prayer or by brave heroism, whether by sacred rite or thought, surpass men. Above us are the five high heavens; the golden bright ones are strong and hard to harm.

स नो॑ बोधि सहस्य प्र॒शंस्यो॒ यस्मि॑न्सुजा॒ता इ॒षय॑न्त सू॒रयः॑ । यम॑ग्ने य॒ज्ञमु॑प॒यन्ति॑ वा॒जिनो॒ नित्ये॑ तो॒के दी॑दि॒वांसं॒ स्वे दमे॑
sa no bodhi sahasya praśaṃsyo yasminsujātā iṣayanta sūrayaḥ yamagne yajñamupayanti vājino nitye toke dīdivāṃsaṃ sve dame
May he, the awakener, grant us companionship and praise; from him the sons were born, O Surya-born ones desire him. They who approach the sacrifice, O Agni, the steeds give light always, they who are aimful in their assemblies.

उ॒भया॑सो जातवेदः स्याम ते स्तो॒तारो॑ अग्ने सू॒रय॑श्च॒ शर्म॑णि । वस्वो॑ रा॒यः पु॑रुश्च॒न्द्रस्य॒ भूय॑सः प्र॒जाव॑तः स्वप॒त्यस्य॑ शग्धि नः
ubhayāso jātavedaḥ syāma te stotāro agne sūrayaśca śarmaṇi vasvo rāyaḥ puruścandrasya bhūyasaḥ prajāvataḥ svapatyasya śagdhi naḥ
May Jātavedas be both our friend and your heralds, O Agni; singers and radiant ones in their splendour. May Vasus and kings and the people of Soma increase; be gracious to our lord, make good the offerings.

ये स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ गोअ॑ग्रा॒मश्व॑पेशस॒मग्ने॑ रा॒तिमु॑पसृ॒जन्ति॑ सू॒रयः॑ । अ॒स्माञ्च॒ ताँश्च॒ प्र हि नेषि॒ वस्य॒ आ बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑
ye stotṛbhyo goagrāmaśvapeśasamagne rātimupasṛjanti sūrayaḥ asmāñca tām̐śca pra hi neṣi vasya ā bṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ
Those mighty ones, like singers, approach the herds of kine and horses, O Agni, and bring delight. Grant them to us; may those brave ones here attain abundant fame and strength in the assembly.
