उदी॑रता॒मव॑र॒ उत्परा॑स॒ उन्म॑ध्य॒माः पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासः॑ । असुं॒ य ई॒युर॑वृ॒का ऋ॑त॒ज्ञास्ते नो॑ऽवन्तु पि॒तरो॒ हवे॑षु
udīratāmavara utparāsa unmadhyamāḥ pitaraḥ somyāsaḥ asuṃ ya īyuravṛkā ṛtajñāste no'vantu pitaro haveṣu
The fathers, Soma-drinkers, rose up: the outer, the middle, the inner. They brought the cattle; they knew the order. May the fathers come to our oblations.

इ॒दं पि॒तृभ्यो॒ नमो॑ अस्त्व॒द्य ये पूर्वा॑सो॒ य उप॑रास ई॒युः । ये पार्थि॑वे॒ रज॒स्या निष॑त्ता॒ ये वा॑ नू॒नं सु॑वृ॒जना॑सु वि॒क्षु
idaṃ pitṛbhyo namo astvadya ye pūrvāso ya uparāsa īyuḥ ye pārthive rajasyā niṣattā ye vā nūnaṃ suvṛjanāsu vikṣu
To the fathers be homage today who lived before, who lived above. Those placed in the earthly dust, those who saw many well-born, attend.

आहं पि॒तॄन्सु॑वि॒दत्रा॑ँ अवित्सि॒ नपा॑तं च वि॒क्रम॑णं च॒ विष्णोः॑ । ब॒र्हि॒षदो॒ ये स्व॒धया॑ सु॒तस्य॒ भज॑न्त पि॒त्वस्त इ॒हाग॑मिष्ठाः
āhaṃ pitṝnsuvidatrām̐ avitsi napātaṃ ca vikramaṇaṃ ca viṣṇoḥ barhiṣado ye svadhayā sutasya bhajanta pitvasta ihāgamiṣṭhāḥ
I have known the fathers who sit in the assembly and the fall and the progress of Vishnu. Praise those worshipful with svadha who serve the son with oblation; they came hither and attained this world.

बर्हि॑षदः पितर ऊ॒त्य१॒॑र्वागि॒मा वो॑ ह॒व्या च॑कृमा जु॒षध्व॑म् । त आ ग॒ताव॑सा॒ शंत॑मे॒नाथा॑ नः॒ शं योर॑र॒पो द॑धात
barhiṣadaḥ pitara ūtya1rvāgimā vo havyā cakṛmā juṣadhvam ta ā gatāvasā śaṃtamenāthā naḥ śaṃ yorarapo dadhāta
Fathers, the Barhis (priests) have advanced; accept the oblation and purify. May those who have come bring peaceful bliss to us and place favor upon our bodies.

उप॑हूताः पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासो॑ बर्हि॒ष्ये॑षु नि॒धिषु॑ प्रि॒येषु॑ । त आ ग॑मन्तु॒ त इ॒ह श्रु॑व॒न्त्वधि॑ ब्रुवन्तु॒ ते॑ऽवन्त्व॒स्मान्
upahūtāḥ pitaraḥ somyāso barhiṣyeṣu nidhiṣu priyeṣu ta ā gamantu ta iha śruvantvadhi bruvantu te'vantvasmān
The fathers, offered to with libations, like the Somadrink among the Barhis, may they come here; let them hear and speak and be favorable to us.

आच्या॒ जानु॑ दक्षिण॒तो नि॒षद्ये॒मं य॒ज्ञम॒भि गृ॑णीत॒ विश्वे॑ । मा हिं॑सिष्ट पितरः॒ केन॑ चिन्नो॒ यद्व॒ आगः॑ पुरु॒षता॒ करा॑म
ācyā jānu dakṣiṇato niṣadyemaṃ yajñamabhi gṛṇīta viśve mā hiṃsiṣṭa pitaraḥ kena cinno yadva āgaḥ puruṣatā karāma
Sit down with the right knee forward and proclaim this sacrifice to all. Do not harm, O fathers, by any deed that would make the coming (portion) lesser than a man’s handiwork.

आसी॑नासो अरु॒णीना॑मु॒पस्थे॑ र॒यिं ध॑त्त दा॒शुषे॒ मर्त्या॑य । पु॒त्रेभ्यः॑ पितर॒स्तस्य॒ वस्वः॒ प्र य॑च्छत॒ त इ॒होर्जं॑ दधात
āsīnāso aruṇīnāmupasthe rayiṃ dhatta dāśuṣe martyāya putrebhyaḥ pitarastasya vasvaḥ pra yacchata ta ihorjaṃ dadhāta
You who sit near the red‑dawn, place wealth for the mortal’s ten‑fold share. To his sons the fathers bestowed heaven; may that daily share be given here.

ये नः॒ पूर्वे॑ पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासो॑ऽनूहि॒रे सो॑मपी॒थं वसि॑ष्ठाः । तेभि॑र्य॒मः सं॑ररा॒णो ह॒वींष्यु॒शन्नु॒शद्भिः॑ प्रतिका॒मम॑त्तु
ye naḥ pūrve pitaraḥ somyāso'nūhire somapīthaṃ vasiṣṭhāḥ tebhiryamaḥ saṃrarāṇo havīṃṣyuśannuśadbhiḥ pratikāmamattu
Those who formerly, O fathers, drank Soma at the Soma‑place, the mighty Vasishthas—by them may the streamed offerings be poured; let them, with invoked chants and rites, fulfill the desired return.

ये ता॑तृ॒षुर्दे॑व॒त्रा जेह॑माना होत्रा॒विदः॒ स्तोम॑तष्टासो अ॒र्कैः । आग्ने॑ याहि सुवि॒दत्रे॑भिर॒र्वाङ्स॒त्यैः क॒व्यैः पि॒तृभि॑र्घर्म॒सद्भिः॑
ye tātṛṣurdevatrā jehamānā hotrāvidaḥ stomataṣṭāso arkaiḥ āgne yāhi suvidatrebhirarvāṅsatyaiḥ kavyaiḥ pitṛbhirgharmasadbhiḥ
Those who, fathers, offered adoration in the halls of the gods—priests skilled in hymn—let them come, Agni, with well‑arranged chants, with truthful words, with poetic songs; may they, like fathers, bring warmth with rites.

ये स॒त्यासो॑ हवि॒रदो॑ हवि॒ष्पा इन्द्रे॑ण दे॒वैः स॒रथं॒ दधा॑नाः । आग्ने॑ याहि स॒हस्रं॑ देवव॒न्दैः परैः॒ पूर्वैः॑ पि॒तृभि॑र्घर्म॒सद्भिः॑
ye satyāso havirado haviṣpā indreṇa devaiḥ sarathaṃ dadhānāḥ āgne yāhi sahasraṃ devavandaiḥ paraiḥ pūrvaiḥ pitṛbhirgharmasadbhiḥ
Those truthful ones who brought the offering, rich in oblation, made a chariot for Indra with the gods. Come, Agni, with thousands of divine powers, together with former fathers, and kindle the warmth with rites.

अग्नि॑ष्वात्ताः पितर॒ एह ग॑च्छत॒ सदः॑सदः सदत सुप्रणीतयः । अ॒त्ता ह॒वींषि॒ प्रय॑तानि ब॒र्हिष्यथा॑ र॒यिं सर्व॑वीरं दधातन
agniṣvāttāḥ pitara eha gacchata sadaḥsadaḥ sadata supraṇītayaḥ attā havīṃṣi prayatāni barhiṣyathā rayiṃ sarvavīraṃ dadhātana
From the fires the fathers have come; go, O one who is both near and far, placed with good devotion. Go, you who bear the offerings, bring the sacrificial butter, and grant the sacred wealth and heroic gain.

त्वम॑ग्न ईळि॒तो जा॑तवे॒दोऽवा॑ड्ढ॒व्यानि॑ सुर॒भीणि॑ कृ॒त्वी । प्रादाः॑ पि॒तृभ्यः॑ स्व॒धया॒ ते अ॑क्षन्न॒द्धि त्वं दे॑व॒ प्रय॑ता ह॒वींषि॑
tvamagna īḷito jātavedo'vāḍḍhavyāni surabhīṇi kṛtvī prādāḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svadhayā te akṣannaddhi tvaṃ deva prayatā havīṃṣi
Agni, you who call the invocations, having made the sacred hymns freshly fragrant like blossoms—grant the portions to the fathers with oblations. As you go among gods, accept the offerings; you proceed bearing the rites.

ये चे॒ह पि॒तरो॒ ये च॒ नेह याँश्च॑ वि॒द्म याँ उ॑ च॒ न प्र॑वि॒द्म । त्वं वे॑त्थ॒ यति॒ ते जा॑तवेदः स्व॒धाभि॑र्य॒ज्ञं सुकृ॑तं जुषस्व
ye ceha pitaro ye ca neha yām̐śca vidma yām̐ u ca na pravidma tvaṃ vettha yati te jātavedaḥ svadhābhiryajñaṃ sukṛtaṃ juṣasva
Those fathers who are here and those who are not, those we know and those we do not—O Jātavedas, you know them; with offerings and svadhā propitiate the well‑performed sacrifice and let it be pleasing.

ये अ॑ग्निद॒ग्धा ये अन॑ग्निदग्धा॒ मध्ये॑ दि॒वः स्व॒धया॑ मा॒दय॑न्ते । तेभिः॑ स्व॒राळसु॑नीतिमे॒तां य॑थाव॒शं त॒न्वं॑ कल्पयस्व
ye agnidagdhā ye anagnidagdhā madhye divaḥ svadhayā mādayante tebhiḥ svarāḷasunītimetāṃ yathāvaśaṃ tanvaṃ kalpayasva
Those burned by Agni and those not burned, in mid‑heaven are delighted by svadhā. By them bring down the heavenly‑raised wealth, and as appropriate fashion thee a body.
