Agni, you who call the invocations, having made the sacred hymns freshly fragrant like blossoms—grant the portions to the fathers with oblations. As you go among gods, accept the offerings; you proceed bearing the rites.
Agni Jātavedas, who are glorified (by us), having made our oblations fragrant, you have borne themoff, and have presented them to the Pitṛs; may they partake of them with the Svadhā; and do you also, divineAgni, feed upon the offered oblations.
Thou, Agni Jatavedas, when entreated, didst bear the offerings which thou madest fragrant, And give them to the Fathers who did cat them with Svadha. Eat, thou God, the gifts we bring thee.
