वसुं॒ न चि॒त्रम॑हसं गृणीषे वा॒मं शेव॒मति॑थिमद्विषे॒ण्यम् । स रा॑सते शु॒रुधो॑ वि॒श्वधा॑यसो॒ऽग्निर्होता॑ गृ॒हप॑तिः सु॒वीर्य॑म्
vasuṃ na citramahasaṃ gṛṇīṣe vāmaṃ śevamatithimadviṣeṇyam sa rāsate śurudho viśvadhāyaso'gnirhotā gṛhapatiḥ suvīryam
O Vasus, not the marvelous one do I invoke; I call the gentle, the hospitable, the benign. He rejoices—mighty, wide‑ruling Agni, the sacrificer, house‑lord, heroic and excellent.

जु॒षा॒णो अ॑ग्ने॒ प्रति॑ हर्य मे॒ वचो॒ विश्वा॑नि वि॒द्वान्व॒युना॑नि सुक्रतो । घृत॑निर्णि॒ग्ब्रह्म॑णे गा॒तुमेर॑य॒ तव॑ दे॒वा अ॑जनय॒न्ननु॑ व्र॒तम्
juṣāṇo agne prati harya me vaco viśvāni vidvānvayunāni sukrato ghṛtanirṇigbrahmaṇe gātumeraya tava devā ajanayannanu vratam
O Agni, accept my invocation; bring to me all wise words, graciously accomplished. With clarified butter offered to the Brahmanas you, O gods, produced the ordinance and thereby established the vow.

स॒प्त धामा॑नि परि॒यन्नम॑र्त्यो॒ दाश॑द्दा॒शुषे॑ सु॒कृते॑ मामहस्व । सु॒वीरे॑ण र॒यिणा॑ग्ने स्वा॒भुवा॒ यस्त॒ आन॑ट् स॒मिधा॒ तं जु॑षस्व
sapta dhāmāni pariyannamartyo dāśaddāśuṣe sukṛte māmahasva suvīreṇa rayiṇāgne svābhuvā yasta ānaṭ samidhā taṃ juṣasva
Seven are the realms surrounding the mortal; ten, even ten, the generous ones served me who am well‑doing. O Agni, by a heroic sacrificer furnished with wealth, be born in thy own being; he who kindles the oblations, laud him.

य॒ज्ञस्य॑ के॒तुं प्र॑थ॒मं पु॒रोहि॑तं ह॒विष्म॑न्त ईळते स॒प्त वा॒जिन॑म् । शृ॒ण्वन्त॑म॒ग्निं घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठमु॒क्षणं॑ पृ॒णन्तं॑ दे॒वं पृ॑ण॒ते सु॒वीर्य॑म्
yajñasya ketuṃ prathamaṃ purohitaṃ haviṣmanta īḷate sapta vājinam śaṛṇvantamagniṃ ghṛtapṛṣṭhamukṣaṇaṃ pṛṇantaṃ devaṃ pṛṇate suvīryam
The auspicious banner of the sacrifice, the first priest, the sacrificer sings forth the oblation for the seven‑voiced one. Hear Agni, with butter upon thy back, filling, invoking the god, O heroic one.

त्वं दू॒तः प्र॑थ॒मो वरे॑ण्यः॒ स हू॒यमा॑नो अ॒मृता॑य मत्स्व । त्वां म॑र्जयन्म॒रुतो॑ दा॒शुषो॑ गृ॒हे त्वां स्तोमे॑भि॒र्भृग॑वो॒ वि रु॑रुचुः
tvaṃ dūtaḥ prathamo vareṇyaḥ sa hūyamāno amṛtāya matsva tvāṃ marjayanmaruto dāśuṣo gṛhe tvāṃ stomebhirbhṛgavo vi rurucuḥ
You are the first envoy, the choicest, being offered who confers immortality—think of me. The Maruts purified you; the givers (daśuṣas) at home praise you; the Bhrigus extol you with hymns and gleaming songs.

इषं॑ दु॒हन्सु॒दुघां॑ वि॒श्वधा॑यसं यज्ञ॒प्रिये॒ यज॑मानाय सुक्रतो । अग्ने॑ घृ॒तस्नु॒स्त्रिरृ॒तानि॒ दीद्य॑द्व॒र्तिर्य॒ज्ञं प॑रि॒यन्सु॑क्रतूयसे
iṣaṃ duhansudughāṃ viśvadhāyasaṃ yajñapriye yajamānāya sukrato agne ghṛtasnustrirṛtāni dīdyadvartiryajñaṃ pariyansukratūyase
This milk of the kine, hard to milk, is for the wide‑ruling one, beloved of rites, for the sacrificer. Agni, may the butter‑savory drops grant the threefold ordinances; may the ritual prosper and encompass the sacrifice, O helper.

त्वामिद॒स्या उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु दू॒तं कृ॑ण्वा॒ना अ॑यजन्त॒ मानु॑षाः । त्वां दे॒वा म॑ह॒याय्या॑य वावृधु॒राज्य॑मग्ने निमृ॒जन्तो॑ अध्व॒रे
tvāmidasyā uṣaso vyuṣṭiṣu dūtaṃ kṛṇvānā ayajanta mānuṣāḥ tvāṃ devā mahayāyyāya vāvṛdhurājyamagne nimṛjanto adhvare
They, making you their envoy in the dawn's expansions, sent you forth—men performed the rite. The gods increased you for great sovereignty; O Agni, they established you on the path.

नि त्वा॒ वसि॑ष्ठा अह्वन्त वा॒जिनं॑ गृ॒णन्तो॑ अग्ने वि॒दथे॑षु वे॒धसः॑ । रा॒यस्पोषं॒ यज॑मानेषु धारय यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
ni tvā vasiṣṭhā ahvanta vājinaṃ gṛṇanto agne vidatheṣu vedhasaḥ rāyaspoṣaṃ yajamāneṣu dhāraya yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
Not you, O Vasishtha, do I invoke weakly; praising the potent, Agni, you are known in rites and observations. Bear the sustenance of the realm in the offerings; protect us ever with blessings.
