vasuṃ na citramahasaṃ gṛṇīṣe vāmaṃ śevamatithimadviṣeṇyam sa rāsate śurudho viśvadhāyaso'gnirhotā gṛhapatiḥ suvīryam
O Vasus, not the marvelous one do I invoke; I call the gentle, the hospitable, the benign. He rejoices—mighty, wide‑ruling Agni, the sacrificer, house‑lord, heroic and excellent.
I glorify him who is of wonderful radiance like the sun, the desirable, the giver of happiness, the guest(of man), the benevolent. He bestows vigour (upon the worshippers); Agni, the remover of sorrow, the sustaineerof all, the invoker (of the gods), the lord of the mansion.
I PRAISE the God of wondrous might like Indra, the lovely pleasant Guest whom all must welcome. May Agni, Priest and Master of the household, give hero strength and all-sustaining riches.
