पि॒तुं नु स्तो॑षं म॒हो ध॒र्माणं॒ तवि॑षीम् । यस्य॑ त्रि॒तो व्योज॑सा वृ॒त्रं विप॑र्वम॒र्दय॑त्
pituṃ nu stoṣaṃ maho dharmāṇaṃ taviṣīm yasya trito vyojasā vṛtraṃ viparvamardayat
Let us praise the great father, the mighty upholder of law, he who by his threefold energy tore open Vritra and caused the burst of waters.

स्वादो॑ पितो॒ मधो॑ पितो व॒यं त्वा॑ ववृमहे । अ॒स्माक॑मवि॒ता भ॑व
svādo pito madho pito vayaṃ tvā vavṛmahe asmākamavitā bhava
The father’s sweetness, the father’s honey — we invoke you, may you be our protector. May you be undivided for us.

upa naḥ pitavā cara śivaḥ śivābhirūtibhiḥ mayobhuradviṣeṇyaḥ sakhā suśevo advayāḥ
Approach us, O father, auspicious, celebrated by auspicious deeds. May the foes be far; friends be well-served, united and devoid of enmity.

तव॒ त्ये पि॑तो॒ रसा॒ रजां॒स्यनु॒ विष्ठि॑ताः । दि॒वि वाता॑ इव श्रि॒ताः
tava tye pito rasā rajāṃsyanu viṣṭhitāḥ divi vātā iva śritāḥ
In you, father, flows the sap that sustains the worlds, spread like fat; like the winds in heaven they are established.

तव॒ त्ये पि॑तो॒ दद॑त॒स्तव॑ स्वादिष्ठ॒ ते पि॑तो । प्र स्वा॒द्मानो॒ रसा॑नां तुवि॒ग्रीवा॑ इवेरते
tava tye pito dadatastava svādiṣṭha te pito pra svādmāno rasānāṃ tuvigrīvā iverate
Father, you give your sweetest portion; you are delightful. For the savor of treasures you are like a neck garland — take pleasure in the tastes.

त्वे पि॑तो म॒हानां॑ दे॒वानां॒ मनो॑ हि॒तम् । अका॑रि॒ चारु॑ के॒तुना॒ तवाहि॒मव॑सावधीत्
tve pito mahānāṃ devānāṃ mano hitam akāri cāru ketunā tavāhimavasāvadhīt
You, father, are mind-bestower for the great gods; with a lovely banner you have made this dwelling abiding for us.

यद॒दो पि॑तो॒ अज॑गन्वि॒वस्व॒ पर्व॑तानाम् । अत्रा॑ चिन्नो मधो पि॒तोऽरं॑ भ॒क्षाय॑ गम्याः
yadado pito ajaganvivasva parvatānām atrā cinno madho pito'raṃ bhakṣāya gamyāḥ
When, O father, you drove the bulls among the mountains, there the honey-father went to be partaker of food.

यद॒पामोष॑धीनां परिं॒शमा॑रि॒शाम॑हे । वाता॑पे॒ पीव॒ इद्भ॑व
yadapāmoṣadhīnāṃ pariṃśamāriśāmahe vātāpe pīva idbhava
When we gained the healing herbs and circumambulated the foe, drink thou at the windy realm — thus it was.

यत्ते॑ सोम॒ गवा॑शिरो॒ यवा॑शिरो॒ भजा॑महे । वाता॑पे॒ पीव॒ इद्भ॑व
yatte soma gavāśiro yavāśiro bhajāmahe vātāpe pīva idbhava
That soma which we enjoy as the cow’s head, the barley’s head — drink thou at the windy realm; thus it was.

क॒र॒म्भ ओ॑षधे भव॒ पीवो॑ वृ॒क्क उ॑दार॒थिः । वाता॑पे॒ पीव॒ इद्भ॑व
karambha oṣadhe bhava pīvo vṛkka udārathiḥ vātāpe pīva idbhava
Karmbha, be thou the healing plant; be a draught, O generous one, a balm for the kidneys. Be heat-dispelling, be this drink.

तं त्वा॑ व॒यं पि॑तो॒ वचो॑भि॒र्गावो॒ न ह॒व्या सु॑षूदिम । दे॒वेभ्य॑स्त्वा सध॒माद॑म॒स्मभ्यं॑ त्वा सध॒माद॑म्
taṃ tvā vayaṃ pito vacobhirgāvo na havyā suṣūdima devebhyastvā sadhamādamasmabhyaṃ tvā sadhamādam
May we, O Pitā (Pitar), praise thee with words: the cows (prayers) which are not to be offered as oblations should not melt away. From the gods may thou grant us right conduct; from us grant right conduct.
