Great are you, Indra, who are mind and consciousness; you are the great seer who has abandoned weariness. May you, knower of the Maruts, give us insight; graciously attend to our prayers, for you are indeed the bestower.

Indra, ceasing from his wide ploughing, stood apart from the ordinances; in the mortal realms he, joyous, caused laughter among the Maruts and rejoiced in the might of the foremost one.

O Indra with gentle shafts, be gracious to us; the Maruts strike down enemies that pursue. Agni and the gods, strengthened by the waters, do not place the island (or realm) aside; they proceed together.

You are not Indra alone; grant brilliance and splendour to him with prosperous strength to the right, and (grant) delight. Praise and songs have surrounded him like breasts of the winds; may not sweet ones exhaust the riches.

You, O Indra, are the giver, the bestower of joy, the envoy of what belongs to both; may those who go forth, the Maruts, resound for us whom the gods formerly made to proceed through the town.

Invoke repeatedly, O Indra, the gentle ones, great among men in the earthly hall; attend so that these may bind the broad offerings—women stood at the sacred ford with libations.
