May Soma spread for Indra and be abundantly effusive, like a showering current together with the protector. Let not the juices of the warrior be restrained; grant us wealth here within the twofold spaces.

Bring us, O purifier, to the assembled ones; you are apt among the gods and pleasing to me. Destroy the foes who bind; drink, O Indra, Soma for our growth, vanquish and dispel.

Indra, undiminished, entered the priestly house; thou became the foremost servant of thyself. Many wise men, singing, speak forth; the kings praise him as conqueror of the world.

A thousand chariots, a hundred-bearing stream, wondrous Indra and Indu preside, desired for sweet drink. Victory sought the field, victory not the belly; let the cows go forth, Soma, make strength for us.

He split the jars with kine and enjoyed the poured draught; the unfailing ritual thrice spilled the measure. The rind was scraped, the unguent consumed; Soma in Indra's belly is the unutterable immortal.

May the delightful, divine Pavamana be born for radiant life; may the delightful be for Indra, the name of the auspicious ones. May the delightful one give sweetness to Mitra, to Varuna, to Vayu, to Brihaspati; may he grant nectar to them.

They anoint exceedingly—ten pitchers they hurl—then the seers’ mind and speech delight. The Pavamana flows, they approach; they enter the praised Indra with offerings of intoxicating draughts.

The Pavamana approached, mighty in heroism, making abundant herds and great shelter first. May not the blast of his around harm us; may you prevail, I conquer wealth with you.

Above the earth stood the bull, piercing, radiant as the light of heaven, the poet. The king approached the sacred one; the heaven pressed out ambrosia, which the mortal-eyed cows milk.

The nectar-tongued heavenly ones milk from the sky’s mouths with veins, milking in moments upon the loftiest mountain. In the waters they pressed the flowing store; the ocean’s waves bore the nectar-bearing, pure one.

From the noses the winged ones reached the living voice; the earlier ones, with veined mouths, uttered words. The minds free the infant; they drink the flowing golden omen—bird-like, steadfast in seat.
