इ॒दं ह॑ नू॒नमे॑षां सु॒म्नं भि॑क्षेत॒ मर्त्यः॑ । आ॒दि॒त्याना॒मपू॑र्व्यं॒ सवी॑मनि
idaṃ ha nūnameṣāṃ sumnaṃ bhikṣeta martyaḥ ādityānāmapūrvyaṃ savīmani
This indeed is the sweetness of ours which mortals may beg: the former of the Ādityas, the early sun-god, the steady companion.

अ॒न॒र्वाणो॒ ह्ये॑षां॒ पन्था॑ आदि॒त्याना॑म् । अद॑ब्धाः॒ सन्ति॑ पा॒यवः॑ सुगे॒वृधः॑
anarvāṇo hyeṣāṃ panthā ādityānām adabdhāḥ santi pāyavaḥ sugevṛdhaḥ
Their path, indeed, is the way of those Ádityas; unexcelled are they, like waters unconfined, splendidly growing.

तत्सु नः॑ सवि॒ता भगो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा । शर्म॑ यच्छन्तु स॒प्रथो॒ यदीम॑हे
tatsu naḥ savitā bhago varuṇo mitro aryamā śarma yacchantu sapratho yadīmahe
May Savitar, Bhaga, Varuṇa, Mitra and Aryaman grant us welfare; may they bestow auspicious protection upon what we think.

दे॒वेभि॑र्देव्यदि॒तेऽरि॑ष्टभर्म॒न्ना ग॑हि । स्मत्सू॒रिभिः॑ पुरुप्रिये सु॒शर्म॑भिः
devebhirdevyadite'riṣṭabharmannā gahi smatsūribhiḥ purupriye suśarmabhiḥ
May the gods and goddesses take away hostile harm; may the radiant ones, dear to men, bring benign auspiciousness.

ते हि पु॒त्रासो॒ अदि॑तेर्वि॒दुर्द्वेषां॑सि॒ योत॑वे । अं॒होश्चि॑दुरु॒चक्र॑योऽने॒हसः॑
te hi putrāso aditervidurdveṣāṃsi yotave aṃhościdurucakrayo'nehasaḥ
For they are the sons of Aditi, knowers of the twofold hostility of the sacrificial flame; they have turned away the harmful designs.

अदि॑तिर्नो॒ दिवा॑ प॒शुमदि॑ति॒र्नक्त॒मद्व॑याः । अदि॑तिः पा॒त्वंह॑सः स॒दावृ॑धा
aditirno divā paśumaditirnaktamadvayāḥ aditiḥ pātvaṃhasaḥ sadāvṛdhā
Aditi is our cattle by day, Aditi our night by twain; Aditi protects us, increase of laughter and growth evermore.

uta syā no divā matiraditirūtyā gamat sā śaṃtāti mayaskaradapa sridhaḥ
And may Aditi’s thought come to us by day; she came with radiant peace and bestowed plenty.

uta tyā daivyā bhiṣajā śaṃ naḥ karato aśvinā yuyuyātāmito rapo apa sridhaḥ
Also be those divine physicians, the Ashvins, auspicious to us; may their abundant healing bring us wealth and plenty.

शम॒ग्निर॒ग्निभिः॑ कर॒च्छं न॑स्तपतु॒ सूर्यः॑ । शं वातो॑ वात्वर॒पा अप॒ स्रिधः॑
śamagniragnibhiḥ karacchaṃ nastapatu sūryaḥ śaṃ vāto vātvarapā apa sridhaḥ
May Agni of midday and the Sun not harm us; may the winds with wind-borne might be auspicious and grant abundance.

अपामी॑वा॒मप॒ स्रिध॒मप॑ सेधत दुर्म॒तिम् । आदि॑त्यासो यु॒योत॑ना नो॒ अंह॑सः
apāmīvāmapa sridhamapa sedhata durmatim ādityāso yuyotanā no aṃhasaḥ
Like waters they passed over evil counsels and dispelled wicked thought; the Adityas, radiant, are our protectors.

यु॒योता॒ शरु॑म॒स्मदाँ आदि॑त्यास उ॒ताम॑तिम् । ऋध॒ग्द्वेषः॑ कृणुत विश्ववेदसः
yuyotā śarumasmadām̐ ādityāsa utāmatim ṛdhagdveṣaḥ kṛṇuta viśvavedasaḥ
The radiant ones, companions of the youthful, made firm our strength; may the mighty foe be turned aside by the knower of the universe.

तत्सु नः॒ शर्म॑ यच्छ॒तादि॑त्या॒ यन्मुमो॑चति । एन॑स्वन्तं चि॒देन॑सः सुदानवः
tatsu naḥ śarma yacchatādityā yanmumocati enasvantaṃ cidenasaḥ sudānavaḥ
May their auspicious protection be ours, what the two Adityas release; they removed the hostile, blatant demon.

यो नः॒ कश्चि॒द्रिरि॑क्षति रक्ष॒स्त्वेन॒ मर्त्यः॑ । स्वैः ष एवै॑ रिरिषीष्ट॒ युर्जनः॑
yo naḥ kaścidririkṣati rakṣastvena martyaḥ svaiḥ ṣa evai ririṣīṣṭa yurjanaḥ
Whoever watches over us, may he protect this mortal; by their own powers they have urgently defended the people.

समित्तम॒घम॑श्नवद्दुः॒शंसं॒ मर्त्यं॑ रि॒पुम् । यो अ॑स्म॒त्रा दु॒र्हणा॑वा॒ँ उप॑ द्व॒युः
samittamaghamaśnavadduḥśaṃsaṃ martyaṃ ripum yo asmatrā durhaṇāvām̐ upa dvayuḥ
They consumed the blameworthy flame, destroying hostile slander of mortals; the two Vasus from here struck down the hateful ones.

पा॒क॒त्रा स्थ॑न देवा हृ॒त्सु जा॑नीथ॒ मर्त्य॑म् । उप॑ द्व॒युं चाद्व॑युं च वसवः
pākatrā sthana devā hṛtsu jānītha martyam upa dvayuṃ cādvayuṃ ca vasavaḥ
O gods, know the divine breasts as vessels; know the mortal; may the two Vasus and Aṅgiras be propitious.

ā śarma parvatānāmotāpāṃ vṛṇīmahe dyāvākṣāmāre asmadrapaskṛtam
We chose the shelter of the mountainous folds; the heavens and earth are our safeguard, made by our forces.

ते नो॑ भ॒द्रेण॒ शर्म॑णा यु॒ष्माकं॑ ना॒वा व॑सवः । अति॒ विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒ता पि॑पर्तन
te no bhadreṇa śarmaṇā yuṣmākaṃ nāvā vasavaḥ ati viśvāni duritā pipartana
Those Vasus have made our dwelling blessed; they drove away all harms that bore down upon us.

tuce tanāya tatsu no drāghīya āyurjīvase ādityāsaḥ sumahasaḥ kṛṇotana
Let the slender-bodied one live long for us; the mighty Adityas wrought great deliverance for us.

य॒ज्ञो ही॒ळो वो॒ अन्त॑र॒ आदि॑त्या॒ अस्ति॑ मृ॒ळत॑ । यु॒ष्मे इद्वो॒ अपि॑ ष्मसि सजा॒त्ये॑
yajño hīḷo vo antara ādityā asti mṛḷata yuṣme idvo api ṣmasi sajātye
The sacrificial rite is the inner adornment of the Adityas and is fruitful; may you be with us, O radiant ones, akin to our own kindred.

बृ॒हद्वरू॑थं म॒रुतां॑ दे॒वं त्रा॒तार॑म॒श्विना॑ । मि॒त्रमी॑महे॒ वरु॑णं स्व॒स्तये॑
bṛhadvarūthaṃ marutāṃ devaṃ trātāramaśvinā mitramīmahe varuṇaṃ svastaye
O Ashvins, great-voiced rescuers of the Maruts, we invoke Mitra and Varuṇa for welfare and success.

अ॒ने॒हो मि॑त्रार्यमन्नृ॒वद्व॑रुण॒ शंस्य॑म् । त्रि॒वरू॑थं मरुतो यन्त नश्छ॒र्दिः
aneho mitrāryamannṛvadvaruṇa śaṃsyam trivarūthaṃ maruto yanta naśchardiḥ
O Mitra, Aryaman, Varuṇa, I will praise you with manifold hymns; the Maruts, in triple praise, go forth like brown cattle.

ये चि॒द्धि मृ॒त्युब॑न्धव॒ आदि॑त्या॒ मन॑वः॒ स्मसि॑ । प्र सू न॒ आयु॑र्जी॒वसे॑ तिरेतन
ye ciddhi mṛtyubandhava ādityā manavaḥ smasi pra sū na āyurjīvase tiretana
Those Adityas who bind death’s fetters—remember them, O men; may they bestow life and long days upon you at the shore.
