उदु॒ ष्य दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता य॑याम हिर॒ण्ययी॑म॒मतिं॒ यामशि॑श्रेत् । नू॒नं भगो॒ हव्यो॒ मानु॑षेभि॒र्वि यो रत्ना॑ पुरू॒वसु॒र्दधा॑ति
udu ṣya devaḥ savitā yayāma hiraṇyayīmamatiṃ yāmaśiśret nūnaṃ bhago havyo mānuṣebhirvi yo ratnā purūvasurdadhāti
The god Savitṛ came forth, went to the golden-moving abode and took the measure. Indeed the god gives oblations among men, who gives jewels to the ancient folk.

उदु॑ तिष्ठ सवितः श्रु॒ध्य१॒॑स्य हिर॑ण्यपाणे॒ प्रभृ॑तावृ॒तस्य॑ । व्यु१॒॑र्वीं पृ॒थ्वीम॒मतिं॑ सृजा॒न आ नृभ्यो॑ मर्त॒भोज॑नं सुवा॒नः
udu tiṣṭha savitaḥ śrudhya1sya hiraṇyapāṇe prabhṛtāvṛtasya vyu1rvīṃ pṛthvīmamatiṃ sṛjāna ā nṛbhyo martabhojanaṃ suvānaḥ
Stand forth, O Savitṛ, hearer with golden hand, lord of the circuit. Spread the expanse of heaven and earth; create the measured realms, provide mortal food with the blessed one.

अपि॑ ष्टु॒तः स॑वि॒ता दे॒वो अ॑स्तु॒ यमा चि॒द्विश्वे॒ वस॑वो गृ॒णन्ति॑ । स नः॒ स्तोमा॑न्नम॒स्य१॒॑श्चनो॑ धा॒द्विश्वे॑भिः पातु पा॒युभि॒र्नि सू॒रीन्
api ṣṭutaḥ savitā devo astu yamā cidviśve vasavo gṛṇanti sa naḥ stomānnamasya1ścano dhādviśvebhiḥ pātu pāyubhirni sūrīn
May Savitṛ be praised, the god be present; Yama and all Vasus extol him. May he protect our hymn, the oblation-food and the song; may he guard the radiant ones with the libations.

अ॒भि यं दे॒व्यदि॑तिर्गृ॒णाति॑ स॒वं दे॒वस्य॑ सवि॒तुर्जु॑षा॒णा । अ॒भि स॒म्राजो॒ वरु॑णो गृणन्त्य॒भि मि॒त्रासो॑ अर्य॒मा स॒जोषाः॑
abhi yaṃ devyaditirgṛṇāti savaṃ devasya saviturjuṣāṇā abhi samrājo varuṇo gṛṇantyabhi mitrāso aryamā sajoṣāḥ
To whom the goddess Aditi addressed the hymn: the god Savitṛ’s favor, kings and Varuṇa praise him; Mitra, Aryaman and companions extol him together.

अ॒भि ये मि॒थो व॒नुषः॒ सप॑न्ते रा॒तिं दि॒वो रा॑ति॒षाचः॑ पृथि॒व्याः । अहि॑र्बु॒ध्न्य॑ उ॒त नः॑ शृणोतु॒ वरू॒त्र्येक॑धेनुभि॒र्नि पा॑तु
abhi ye mitho vanuṣaḥ sapante rātiṃ divo rātiṣācaḥ pṛthivyāḥ ahirbudhnya uta naḥ śaṛṇotu varūtryekadhenubhirni pātu
Those who in friendship press upon the woods, they harm the night and the bright regions of heaven and earth. May the slayer strike them down; let Varuṇa guard us, may he hear our cry and protect with singular might.

अनु॒ तन्नो॒ जास्पति॑र्मंसीष्ट॒ रत्नं॑ दे॒वस्य॑ सवि॒तुरि॑या॒नः । भग॑मु॒ग्रोऽव॑से॒ जोह॑वीति॒ भग॒मनु॑ग्रो॒ अध॑ याति॒ रत्न॑म्
anu tanno jāspatirmaṃsīṣṭa ratnaṃ devasya savituriyānaḥ bhagamugro'vase johavīti bhagamanugro adha yāti ratnam
May Jaspati grant us the wished-for jewel of the god Savitar’s chariot; the auspicious leader goes before and brings the jewel.

शं नो॑ भवन्तु वा॒जिनो॒ हवे॑षु दे॒वता॑ता मि॒तद्र॑वः स्व॒र्काः । ज॒म्भय॒न्तोऽहिं॒ वृकं॒ रक्षां॑सि॒ सने॑म्य॒स्मद्यु॑यव॒न्नमी॑वाः
śaṃ no bhavantu vājino haveṣu devatātā mitadravaḥ svarkāḥ jambhayanto'hiṃ vṛkaṃ rakṣāṃsi sanemyasmadyuyavannamīvāḥ
May the prosperous ones be gracious to us; gods be present in the oblations, with measured gifts and heaven’s riches. Protecting us, ward off the hostile wolf; may our youthful band be placated.

वाजे॑वाजेऽवत वाजिनो नो॒ धने॑षु विप्रा अमृता ऋतज्ञाः । अ॒स्य मध्वः॑ पिबत मा॒दय॑ध्वं तृ॒प्ता या॑त प॒थिभि॑र्देव॒यानैः॑
vājevāje'vata vājino no dhaneṣu viprā amṛtā ṛtajñāḥ asya madhvaḥ pibata mādayadhvaṃ tṛptā yāta pathibhirdevayānaiḥ
May winnings bring us riches; the priests, knowing truth, are immortal. Let them drink the mead of this lord, do not intoxicate them; let them go away satisfied by the divine paths.
