प्र शु॒क्रैतु॑ दे॒वी म॑नी॒षा अ॒स्मत्सुत॑ष्टो॒ रथो॒ न वा॒जी
pra śukraitu devī manīṣā asmatsutaṣṭo ratho na vājī
May the goddess of bliss bless; may our thought be pleased—neither chariot nor steed.

viduḥ pṛthivyā divo janitraṃ śaṛṇvantyāpo adha kṣarantīḥ
They knew the offspring of earth and the maker of heaven; the waters heard as they flowed and moved away.

āpaścidasmai pinvanta pṛthvīrvṛtreṣu śūrā maṃsanta ugrāḥ
May the waters drink for him; may the earth in the fierce hosts of Vṛtra be crushed by the valiant, mighty ones.

ā dhūrṣvasmai dadhātāśvānindro na vajrī hiraṇyabāhuḥ
Indra, the wielder of horses, set mightily upon him; O golden‑armed one, do not withhold the thunderbolt.

अ॒भि प्र स्था॒ताहे॑व य॒ज्ञं याते॑व॒ पत्म॒न्त्मना॑ हिनोत
abhi pra sthātāheva yajñaṃ yāteva patmantmanā hinota
They advanced upon the sacrifice; with united mind he struck it down, as he proceeded forth.

त्मना॑ स॒मत्सु॑ हि॒नोत॑ य॒ज्ञं दधा॑त के॒तुं जना॑य वी॒रम्
tmanā samatsu hinota yajñaṃ dadhāta ketuṃ janāya vīram
By the same mind he humbled the sacrifice; he set a banner, engendering heroic folk.

From the dry blast the radiant sun rises; it bears burden, the earth does not overwhelm it.

I call upon you, O Agni; I set a wise thought with unerring speech.

Bring to us the goddess with thought; make speech for us to the gods, perform it.

And the river Varuṇa, mighty, lord of waters, with a thousand eyes came upon their paths.

rājā rāṣṭrānāṃ peśo nadīnāmanuttamasmai kṣatraṃ viśvāyu
Ruler of realms, lord of rivers, highest among them, grant to him the field of sovereignty and long life.

May he send forth all brimming riches upon us; may he bestow praise and settle the people.

Let the lightnings destroy hostile service; may you, O banner‑bearers, rout those of hostile bodies.

Agni, lord of the oblation, accept the sacrifice’s food; foremost among offerings, may the hymn be placed for us.

May the friends who sit with the gods cast down the rain; may Shiva be propitious to us.

I utter songs with unbroken lips; I may strike down the dust of the rivers' filth.

Do not harm my wise ones, O seers; let not the sacrifice of this be enraged against them.

Let not the rumour among men be painful; let those going forth prosper, chanting with zeal.

They sharpen an enemy like gold, O mighty hosts, these very ones of ours are many‑armed.

Grant us what our wives go to procure; O Tvaṣṭṛ, the strong‑handed, give heroes.

Tvaṣṭṛ, accept our hymn in return; may prosperity and wealth be ours.

tā no rāsanrātiṣāco vasūnyā rodasī varuṇānī śaṛṇotu varūtrībhiḥ suśaraṇo no astu tvaṣṭā sudatro vi dadhātu rāyaḥ
May they grant us from the spoils the treasured goods; may Varuṇa and the radiant ones hear. O Tvaṣṭṛ, bestow abundant wealth and a realm.

तन्नो॒ रायः॒ पर्व॑ता॒स्तन्न॒ आप॒स्तद्रा॑ति॒षाच॒ ओष॑धीरु॒त द्यौः । वन॒स्पति॑भिः पृथि॒वी स॒जोषा॑ उ॒भे रोद॑सी॒ परि॑ पासतो नः
tanno rāyaḥ parvatāstanna āpastadrātiṣāca oṣadhīruta dyauḥ vanaspatibhiḥ pṛthivī sajoṣā ubhe rodasī pari pāsato naḥ
May that wealth be ours, the mountains; may that wealth be ours, the waters; may the herbs, heaven, and plants with their leafy hosts be agreeable to us; may earth with her forest-kings be friendly; may both the mornings encompass us with favor.

अनु॒ तदु॒र्वी रोद॑सी जिहाता॒मनु॑ द्यु॒क्षो वरु॑ण॒ इन्द्र॑सखा । अनु॒ विश्वे॑ म॒रुतो॒ ये स॒हासो॑ रा॒यः स्या॑म ध॒रुणं॑ धि॒यध्यै॑
anu tadurvī rodasī jihātāmanu dyukṣo varuṇa indrasakhā anu viśve maruto ye sahāso rāyaḥ syāma dharuṇaṃ dhiyadhyai
Follow, O radiant Dawn, with your chariot; pursue, O Varuṇa and Indra's friend; follow all the Maruts who are companions of the wealth, may they direct the enduring earth with thought.

तन्न॒ इन्द्रो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निराप॒ ओष॑धीर्व॒निनो॑ जुषन्त । शर्म॑न्स्याम म॒रुता॑मु॒पस्थे॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
tanna indro varuṇo mitro agnirāpa oṣadhīrvanino juṣanta śarmansyāma marutāmupasthe yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
May Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra, Agni, and the herbs of the forests give us refreshment; may the Maruts and the hosts of splendour protect us; may you preserve our well-being always with auspiciousness.
