यस्ति॒ग्मशृ॑ङ्गो वृष॒भो न भी॒म एकः॑ कृ॒ष्टीश्च्या॒वय॑ति॒ प्र विश्वाः॑ । यः शश्व॑तो॒ अदा॑शुषो॒ गय॑स्य प्रय॒न्तासि॒ सुष्वि॑तराय॒ वेदः॑
yastigmaśaṛṅgo vṛṣabho na bhīma ekaḥ kṛṣṭīścyāvayati pra viśvāḥ yaḥ śaśvato adāśuṣo gayasya prayantāsi suṣvitarāya vedaḥ
He whose horned stallion, the mighty bull, is not fearful, who makes the earth bloom by his rule — he, ever standing, having given shelter to cowherds, knows the well-pleasing expanse.

त्वं ह॒ त्यदि॑न्द्र॒ कुत्स॑मावः॒ शुश्रू॑षमाणस्त॒न्वा॑ सम॒र्ये । दासं॒ यच्छुष्णं॒ कुय॑वं॒ न्य॑स्मा॒ अर॑न्धय आर्जुने॒याय॒ शिक्ष॑न्
tvaṃ ha tyadindra kutsamāvaḥ śuśrūṣamāṇastanvā samarye dāsaṃ yacchuṣṇaṃ kuyavaṃ nyasmā arandhaya ārjuneyāya śikṣan
You, when Indra drove back enemies, attended promptly in battle, stretching forth; you laid down the hot (self) as a servant, having taught Arjuna in the field.

त्वं धृ॑ष्णो धृष॒ता वी॒तह॑व्यं॒ प्रावो॒ विश्वा॑भिरू॒तिभिः॑ सु॒दास॑म् । प्र पौरु॑कुत्सिं त्र॒सद॑स्युमावः॒ क्षेत्र॑साता वृत्र॒हत्ये॑षु पू॒रुम्
tvaṃ dhṛṣṇo dhṛṣatā vītahavyaṃ prāvo viśvābhirūtibhiḥ sudāsam pra paurukutsiṃ trasadasyumāvaḥ kṣetrasātā vṛtrahatyeṣu pūrum
You, bearer of daring, upheld the sacrifice free from fear, spreading it with all shining rites to the generous one. You, who terrified the city-robber, entered the field for slaying Vritra for the people.

त्वं नृभि॑र्नृमणो दे॒ववी॑तौ॒ भूरी॑णि वृ॒त्रा ह॑र्यश्व हंसि । त्वं नि दस्युं॒ चुमु॑रिं॒ धुनिं॒ चास्वा॑पयो द॒भीत॑ये सु॒हन्तु॑
tvaṃ nṛbhirnṛmaṇo devavītau bhūrīṇi vṛtrā haryaśva haṃsi tvaṃ ni dasyuṃ cumuriṃ dhuniṃ cāsvāpayo dabhītaye suhantu
You among men, in the space of men and gods, with many (deeds) didst seize Vritra, swift as a steed. You, protect us from robbers, thieves and deadly snares, bring safety for the fearful.

तव॑ च्यौ॒त्नानि॑ वज्रहस्त॒ तानि॒ नव॒ यत्पुरो॑ नव॒तिं च॑ स॒द्यः । नि॒वेश॑ने शतत॒मावि॑वेषी॒रह॑ञ्च वृ॒त्रं नमु॑चिमु॒ताह॑न्
tava cyautnāni vajrahasta tāni nava yatpuro navatiṃ ca sadyaḥ niveśane śatatamāviveṣīrahañca vṛtraṃ namucimutāhan
Your attentive, thunder-armed hands—those nine, or whatever is ninety in front and ninety behind—when investing, a hundredfold they poured out and struck Vritra down with loud cry.

सना॒ ता त॑ इन्द्र॒ भोज॑नानि रा॒तह॑व्याय दा॒शुषे॑ सु॒दासे॑ । वृष्णे॑ ते॒ हरी॒ वृष॑णा युनज्मि॒ व्यन्तु॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि पुरुशाक॒ वाज॑म्
sanā tā ta indra bhojanāni rātahavyāya dāśuṣe sudāse vṛṣṇe te harī vṛṣaṇā yunajmi vyantu brahmāṇi puruśāka vājam
You furnished Indra with garlands, foods for the night-sacrifice, for the Dāśuṣa and the generous. To your bovine host I offer cows; may the wide-armed ones yield the heroic, the abundant strength of the praised kine.

मा ते॑ अ॒स्यां स॑हसाव॒न्परि॑ष्टाव॒घाय॑ भूम हरिवः परा॒दै । त्राय॑स्व नोऽवृ॒केभि॒र्वरू॑थै॒स्तव॑ प्रि॒यासः॑ सू॒रिषु॑ स्याम
mā te asyāṃ sahasāvanpariṣṭāvaghāya bhūma harivaḥ parādai trāyasva no'vṛkebhirvarūthaistava priyāsaḥ sūriṣu syāma
Do not cast us out with a thousand around this realm; protect the earth, O far-striding Hari. Save us from wolves and the marauding host; may we be dear among the brave.

प्रि॒यास॒ इत्ते॑ मघवन्न॒भिष्टौ॒ नरो॑ मदेम शर॒णे सखा॑यः । नि तु॒र्वशं॒ नि याद्वं॑ शिशीह्यतिथि॒ग्वाय॒ शंस्यं॑ करि॒ष्यन्
priyāsa itte maghavannabhiṣṭau naro madema śaraṇe sakhāyaḥ ni turvaśaṃ ni yādvaṃ śiśīhyatithigvāya śaṃsyaṃ kariṣyan
May the beloved wealth be yours in fulfillment; let men give us shelter, companions in refuge. But may you not be taken away, nor may the guest-fashioned one bite you; we will praise and perform the hymn.

स॒द्यश्चि॒न्नु ते म॑घवन्न॒भिष्टौ॒ नरः॑ शंसन्त्युक्थ॒शास॑ उ॒क्था । ये ते॒ हवे॑भि॒र्वि प॒णीँरदा॑शन्न॒स्मान्वृ॑णीष्व॒ युज्या॑य॒ तस्मै॑
sadyaścinnu te maghavannabhiṣṭau naraḥ śaṃsantyukthaśāsa ukthā ye te havebhirvi paṇīm̐radāśannasmānvṛṇīṣva yujyāya tasmai
Swiftly may your generous gifts be brought to fulfillment: men laud you with hymns and auspicious words. Those who, with offerings in rituals, call forth the streams, may they gather us to the assembled place — to him.

ए॒ते स्तोमा॑ न॒रां नृ॑तम॒ तुभ्य॑मस्म॒द्र्य॑ञ्चो॒ दद॑तो म॒घानि॑ । तेषा॑मिन्द्र वृत्र॒हत्ये॑ शि॒वो भूः॒ सखा॑ च॒ शूरो॑ऽवि॒ता च॑ नृ॒णाम्
ete stomā narāṃ nṛtama tubhyamasmadryañco dadato maghāni teṣāmindra vṛtrahatye śivo bhūḥ sakhā ca śūro'vitā ca nṛṇām
These songs, praises of men, have given us treasures and riches to you and to our folk. For Indra in the slaying of Vritra be auspicious, a friend and mighty, a lord and protector of men.

नू इ॑न्द्र शूर॒ स्तव॑मान ऊ॒ती ब्रह्म॑जूतस्त॒न्वा॑ वावृधस्व । उप॑ नो॒ वाजा॑न्मिमी॒ह्युप॒ स्तीन्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
nū indra śūra stavamāna ūtī brahmajūtastanvā vāvṛdhasva upa no vājānmimīhyupa stīnyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
Now laud Indra, mighty, the priest-born, strengthen his body. Grant us, by valor here, wealth and well-being always with us.
