These songs, praises of men, have given us treasures and riches to you and to our folk. For Indra in the slaying of Vritra be auspicious, a friend and mighty, a lord and protector of men.
Chief leader (of rites), these praises of man addressed to you revert to us, who are the offerers of(sacrificial) riches; do you be propitious to such men, (Indra), in conflicts with enemies; be their friend, their hero, and protector.
Thine are these lauds, O manliest of heroes, lauds which revert to us and give us riches. Favour these, Indra, when they fight with faemen, as Friend and Hero and the heroes' Helper.
