pra vo mahe matayo yantu viṣṇave marutvate girijā evayāmarut pra śardhāya prayajyave sukhādaye tavase bhandadiṣṭaye dhunivratāya śavase
Bring forth our thoughts for Vishṇu and the Maruts; Girijā is indeed this Marut. For the generous grant, for ease and the sacrificial dwelling may you give strength, ordained for the vow, for life.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 5, Sukta 87 · Verse 5.87.2
pra ye jātā mahinā ye ca nu svayaṃ pra vidmanā bruvata evayāmarut kratvā tadvo maruto nādhṛṣe śavo dānā mahnā tadeṣāmadhṛṣṭāso nādrayaḥ
They who were born in the month, and those who by knowledge proclaim themselves—these Maruts speak thus. The Marut, having made that, did not abandon the vow; the gifts of the days are not disregarded by those praised.

Those who hear the great songs of heaven, O Marut, who are well-voiced, bright and fair — not those in whose midst the worshipper sits, nor the lightning of Agni among the ashes of the sacrificers.

He moved in the great course, advancing alike from sameness; O Marut, you were thus present. When wrestlers strove with mind and breath, competing, exulting, the boastful one contended with men.

svano na vo'mavānrejayadvṛṣā tveṣo yayistaviṣa evayāmarut yenā sahanta ṛñjata svarociṣaḥ sthāraśmāno hiraṇyayāḥ svāyudhāsa iṣmiṇaḥ
May the sound of your praise, O Marut, not fail us; may you, bulls, bestow abundance — these very Maruts are your protectors. By whom the radiant ones endure, the gold-bearing shafts and weapons, the iron of their arms.

apāro vo mahimā vṛddhaśavasastveṣaṃ śavo'vatvevayāmarut sthātāro hi prasitau saṃdṛśi sthana te na uruṣyatā nidaḥ śuśukvāṃso nāgnayaḥ
Your greatness is beyond, growing with many steeds; your spoil has come upon them, O Marut. Steadfast ones, surely you widened the spread; may your breasts not be worn away — dry ones, the fierce burners.

te rudrāsaḥ sumakhā agnayo yathā tuvidyumnā avantvevayāmarut dīrghaṃ pṛthu paprathe sadma pārthivaṃ yeṣāmajmeṣvā mahaḥ śardhāṃsyadbhutainasām
They are like Rudras, sweet-faced, as Agni blazing; thus, O Marut, they shone. Long and wide they spread, the great ones who measured the lofty plain, increasing might among people.

adveṣo no maruto gātumetana śrotā havaṃ jariturevayāmarut viṣṇormahaḥ samanyavo yuyotana smadrathyo3 na daṃsanāpa dveṣāṃsi sanutaḥ
O Marut, may no enmity fall upon us; they are the listeners who know the rite, even old with offering. Great Vishnu brings us near; you are not to be bitten by hatred, O honored ones.

gantā no yajñaṃ yajñiyāḥ suśami śrotā havamarakṣa evayāmarut jyeṣṭhāso na parvatāso vyomani yūyaṃ tasya pracetasaḥ syāta durdhartavo nidaḥ
May the priests, the ritualists, lead us to the sacrifice; they hear well and keep the oblation — O Marut, they watch the hymn. You are elders, mountains in the sky; of his understanding may you be hard to pierce in battle.
