तमु॑ नू॒नं तवि॑षीमन्तमेषां स्तु॒षे ग॒णं मारु॑तं॒ नव्य॑सीनाम् । य आ॒श्व॑श्वा॒ अम॑व॒द्वह॑न्त उ॒तेशि॑रे अ॒मृत॑स्य स्व॒राजः॑
tamu nūnaṃ taviṣīmantameṣāṃ stuṣe gaṇaṃ mārutaṃ navyasīnām ya āśvaśvā amavadvahanta uteśire amṛtasya svarājaḥ
We praise indeed your invigorating Marut band, freshly clad; those swift steeds that carried the undying nectar’s own sovereign to the summit.

त्वे॒षं ग॒णं त॒वसं॒ खादि॑हस्तं॒ धुनि॑व्रतं मा॒यिनं॒ दाति॑वारम् । म॒यो॒भुवो॒ ये अमि॑ता महि॒त्वा वन्द॑स्व विप्र तुवि॒राध॑सो॒ नॄन्
tveṣaṃ gaṇaṃ tavasaṃ khādihastaṃ dhunivrataṃ māyinaṃ dātivāram mayobhuvo ye amitā mahitvā vandasva vipra tuvirādhaso nṝn
This band, with strong hands, the steadfast, oath-bound, magician-giving, grants the gift; to those immeasurable prosperous ones who, reverential brahmins, worship you as heroes among men.

आ वो॑ यन्तूदवा॒हासो॑ अ॒द्य वृ॒ष्टिं ये विश्वे॑ म॒रुतो॑ जु॒नन्ति॑ । अ॒यं यो अ॒ग्निर्म॑रुतः॒ समि॑द्ध ए॒तं जु॑षध्वं कवयो युवानः
ā vo yantūdavāhāso adya vṛṣṭiṃ ye viśve maruto junanti ayaṃ yo agnirmarutaḥ samiddha etaṃ juṣadhvaṃ kavayo yuvānaḥ
May your uplifted praise-day bring rain today, ye who the Maruts have made to sprinkle everywhere. This which is Agni-Marut, kindled—take it, O young poets.

यू॒यं राजा॑न॒मिर्यं॒ जना॑य विभ्वत॒ष्टं ज॑नयथा यजत्राः । यु॒ष्मदे॑ति मुष्टि॒हा बा॒हुजू॑तो यु॒ष्मत्सद॑श्वो मरुतः सु॒वीरः॑
yūyaṃ rājānamiryaṃ janāya vibhvataṣṭaṃ janayathā yajatrāḥ yuṣmadeti muṣṭihā bāhujūto yuṣmatsadaśvo marutaḥ suvīraḥ
You are lords of assemblies, kings, begetters, making wealth arise as priests; from you our host, Marut the hero, bears the companion who is your supporter.

अ॒रा इ॒वेदच॑रमा॒ अहे॑व॒ प्रप्र॑ जायन्ते॒ अक॑वा॒ महो॑भिः । पृश्नेः॑ पु॒त्रा उ॑प॒मासो॒ रभि॑ष्ठाः॒ स्वया॑ म॒त्या म॒रुतः॒ सं मि॑मिक्षुः
arā ivedacaramā aheva prapra jāyante akavā mahobhiḥ pṛśneḥ putrā upamāso rabhiṣṭhāḥ svayā matyā marutaḥ saṃ mimikṣuḥ
Like a sudden storm the chiefs are born, coming forth with mighty roars; the sons of Pṛśni, favored and chosen, with their own doom the Marut examined them.

यत्प्राया॑सिष्ट॒ पृष॑तीभि॒रश्वै॑र्वीळुप॒विभि॑र्मरुतो॒ रथे॑भिः । क्षोद॑न्त॒ आपो॑ रिण॒ते वना॒न्यवो॒स्रियो॑ वृष॒भः क्र॑न्दतु॒ द्यौः
yatprāyāsiṣṭa pṛṣatībhiraśvairvīḷupavibhirmaruto rathebhiḥ kṣodanta āpo riṇate vanānyavosriyo vṛṣabhaḥ krandatu dyauḥ
By the work of horses and the oft-strained plains the Marut divided the chariots. Waters roared, the forests trembled; the bull of riches bellowed, heaven cried out.

प्रथि॑ष्ट॒ याम॑न्पृथि॒वी चि॑देषां॒ भर्ते॑व॒ गर्भं॒ स्वमिच्छवो॑ धुः । वाता॒न्ह्यश्वा॑न्धु॒र्या॑युयु॒ज्रे व॒र्षं स्वेदं॑ चक्रिरे रु॒द्रिया॑सः
prathiṣṭa yāmanpṛthivī cideṣāṃ bharteva garbhaṃ svamicchavo dhuḥ vātānhyaśvāndhuryāyuyujre varṣaṃ svedaṃ cakrire rudriyāsaḥ
The established paths, the earth’s womb—these you desired as masters; the winds yoked swift horses and brought rain and sweat, the fierce ones of Rudra.

ह॒ये नरो॒ मरु॑तो मृ॒ळता॑ न॒स्तुवी॑मघासो॒ अमृ॑ता॒ ऋत॑ज्ञाः । सत्य॑श्रुतः॒ कव॑यो॒ युवा॑नो॒ बृह॑द्गिरयो बृ॒हदु॒क्षमा॑णाः
haye naro maruto mṛḷatā nastuvīmaghāso amṛtā ṛtajñāḥ satyaśrutaḥ kavayo yuvāno bṛhadgirayo bṛhadukṣamāṇāḥ
Horses, men, Marut—praising with song, we call you, immortal-knowers, truth-hearers, poets, youths, great-peaked ones, of vast endurance.
