प्र य आ॒रुः शि॑तिपृ॒ष्ठस्य॑ धा॒सेरा मा॒तरा॑ विविशुः स॒प्त वाणीः॑ । प॒रि॒क्षिता॑ पि॒तरा॒ सं च॑रेते॒ प्र स॑र्स्राते दी॒र्घमायुः॑ प्र॒यक्षे॑
pra ya āruḥ śitipṛṣṭhasya dhāserā mātarā viviśuḥ sapta vāṇīḥ parikṣitā pitarā saṃ carete pra sarsrāte dīrghamāyuḥ prayakṣe
They entered through the cool back—seven mothers spoke. Searched and tested, the fathers moved about; they beheld long life streaming forth.

दि॒वक्ष॑सो धे॒नवो॒ वृष्णो॒ अश्वा॑ दे॒वीरा त॑स्थौ॒ मधु॑म॒द्वह॑न्तीः । ऋ॒तस्य॑ त्वा॒ सद॑सि क्षेम॒यन्तं॒ पर्येका॑ चरति वर्त॒निं गौः
divakṣaso dhenavo vṛṣṇo aśvā devīrā tasthau madhumadvahantīḥ ṛtasya tvā sadasi kṣemayantaṃ paryekā carati vartaniṃ gauḥ
Sky-eyed cows, strong horses, goddesses stood, bearing honey-like mead. For the order you sit, preserving welfare; the cows go singly, tending the fold.

आ सी॑मरोहत्सु॒यमा॒ भव॑न्तीः॒ पति॑श्चिकि॒त्वान्र॑यि॒विद्र॑यी॒णाम् । प्र नील॑पृष्ठो अत॒सस्य॑ धा॒सेस्ता अ॑वासयत्पुरु॒धप्र॑तीकः
ā sīmarohatsuyamā bhavantīḥ patiścikitvānrayividrayīṇām pra nīlapṛṣṭho atasasya dhāsestā avāsayatpurudhapratīkaḥ
They rose in the bright place, becoming attendants; a lord healed the hurt of the many-haired ones. The blue-backed one placed those attendants, a hero like a vanguard, before the people.

महि॑ त्वा॒ष्ट्रमू॒र्जय॑न्तीरजु॒र्यं स्त॑भू॒यमा॑नं व॒हतो॑ वहन्ति । व्यङ्गे॑भिर्दिद्युता॒नः स॒धस्थ॒ एका॑मिव॒ रोद॑सी॒ आ वि॑वेश
mahi tvāṣṭramūrjayantīrajuryaṃ stabhūyamānaṃ vahato vahanti vyaṅgebhirdidyutānaḥ sadhastha ekāmiva rodasī ā viveśa
They raised the burdens of the earth and upheld the injured, carrying him. The radiant ones with their beaks, the assembled host, entered like a single dawn into the expanse.

जा॒नन्ति॒ वृष्णो॑ अरु॒षस्य॒ शेव॑मु॒त ब्र॒ध्नस्य॒ शास॑ने रणन्ति । दि॒वो॒रुचः॑ सु॒रुचो॒ रोच॑माना॒ इळा॒ येषां॒ गण्या॒ माहि॑ना॒ गीः
jānanti vṛṣṇo aruṣasya śevamuta bradhnasya śāsane raṇanti divorucaḥ suruco rocamānā iḷā yeṣāṃ gaṇyā māhinā gīḥ
The herds, the strong ones, know the call of the plain; they obey the host’s command in battle. The heaven-born splendour delights; Ila, whose numbers are famed, chants the months’ songs.

उ॒तो पि॒तृभ्यां॑ प्र॒विदानु॒ घोषं॑ म॒हो म॒हद्भ्या॑मनयन्त शू॒षम् । उ॒क्षा ह॒ यत्र॒ परि॒ धान॑म॒क्तोरनु॒ स्वं धाम॑ जरि॒तुर्व॒वक्ष॑
uto pitṛbhyāṃ pravidānu ghoṣaṃ maho mahadbhyāmanayanta śūṣam ukṣā ha yatra pari dhānamaktoranu svaṃ dhāma jariturvavakṣa
They proclaimed loudly, addressing the fathers; they brought forth the mighty call and silence. Where the hiding-place is, there let the dwelling, the abode, endure, O long-lived ones.

अ॒ध्व॒र्युभिः॑ प॒ञ्चभिः॑ स॒प्त विप्राः॑ प्रि॒यं र॑क्षन्ते॒ निहि॑तं प॒दं वेः । प्राञ्चो॑ मदन्त्यु॒क्षणो॑ अजु॒र्या दे॒वा दे॒वाना॒मनु॒ हि व्र॒ता गुः
adhvaryubhiḥ pañcabhiḥ sapta viprāḥ priyaṃ rakṣante nihitaṃ padaṃ veḥ prāñco madantyukṣaṇo ajuryā devā devānāmanu hi vratā guḥ
With five paths and seven priests the worshippers protect the placed feet of the dawn. In front they swell with pride; the gods follow the laws, the established vows.
Rigveda 3.007.08

दैव्या॒ होता॑रा प्रथ॒मा न्यृ॑ञ्जे स॒प्त पृ॒क्षासः॑ स्व॒धया॑ मदन्ति । ऋ॒तं शंस॑न्त ऋ॒तमित्त आ॑हु॒रनु॑ व्र॒तं व्र॑त॒पा दीध्या॑नाः
daivyā hotārā prathamā nyṛñje sapta pṛkṣāsaḥ svadhayā madanti ṛtaṃ śaṃsanta ṛtamitta āhuranu vrataṃ vratapā dīdhyānāḥ
Divine foremost sacrificers, the first, kindle the seven offerings with oblations; praising the Rta, they call Rta the law. The vow-keepers are faithful, devout in sacrifice.

वृ॒षा॒यन्ते॑ म॒हे अत्या॑य पू॒र्वीर्वृष्णे॑ चि॒त्राय॑ र॒श्मयः॑ सुया॒माः । देव॑ होतर्म॒न्द्रत॑रश्चिकि॒त्वान्म॒हो दे॒वान्रोद॑सी॒ एह व॑क्षि
vṛṣāyante mahe atyāya pūrvīrvṛṣṇe citrāya raśmayaḥ suyāmāḥ deva hotarmandrataraścikitvānmaho devānrodasī eha vakṣi
They magnify the mighty, the earlier Vrsnis; beams of varied hues sweep like the evening. The gods’ priest chants the hymn of dawns—he will speak it.

पृ॒क्षप्र॑यजो द्रविणः सु॒वाचः॑ सुके॒तव॑ उ॒षसो॑ रे॒वदू॑षुः । उ॒तो चि॑दग्ने महि॒ना पृ॑थि॒व्याः कृ॒तं चि॒देनः॒ सं म॒हे द॑शस्य
pṛkṣaprayajo draviṇaḥ suvācaḥ suketava uṣaso revadūṣuḥ uto cidagne mahinā pṛthivyāḥ kṛtaṃ cidenaḥ saṃ mahe daśasya
The first-born of the trees, wealth-providers with good speech, victorious at the place of dawn, the disperser of harm. Also Agni, for many days, the maker on earth—he measured the tenfold distribution.

इळा॑मग्ने पुरु॒दंसं॑ स॒निं गोः श॑श्वत्त॒मं हव॑मानाय साध । स्यान्नः॑ सू॒नुस्तन॑यो वि॒जावाग्ने॒ सा ते॑ सुम॒तिर्भू॑त्व॒स्मे
iḷāmagne purudaṃsaṃ saniṃ goḥ śaśvattamaṃ havamānāya sādha syānnaḥ sūnustanayo vijāvāgne sā te sumatirbhūtvasme
O Agni, hallow Ila, the man-opener, the everlasting kine, the most enduring oblation for the rite. May he be for us a son and offspring—O Agni, be thou my good-minded protector.
