May your auspicious vows be ours; may Varuṇa, pleased, accept our praises. Like the rising cows of dawn, may the fires not age but increase their strength.

At first the Sun ordained the laws; the rivers and Varuṇa uphold them. They do not tire, they do not abandon; these ages do not fall, O noble ones.

I stir the streams like chariots for your bounty, Varuṇa, of heavenly nectar. Do not cut the threads of my intellect; do not withhold measure from my thought, protector of rites.

Waters, praise Varuṇa; do not be fearful or deceitful toward us. In exchange be kindly, do not withdraw; do not wither away even for a blink when we call.
