vi macchrathāya raśanāmivāga ṛdhyāma te varuṇa khāmṛtasya mā tantuśchedi vayato dhiyaṃ me mā mātrā śāryapasaḥ pura ṛtoḥ
I stir the streams like chariots for your bounty, Varuṇa, of heavenly nectar. Do not cut the threads of my intellect; do not withhold measure from my thought, protector of rites.
Cast off from me sin, Varuṇa, as if it were a rope; may we obtain from you a channel (filled) with water; cut not the thread of me (engaged in) weaving pious works; blight not the elements of holy rites before the season (of their maturity).
Loose me from sin as from a bond that binds me: may we swell, Varuna, thy spring of Order. Let not my thread, while I weave song, be severed, nor my work's sum, before the time, be shattered.
